Fucking proud to be a Blackfella :) . Another classic from Coloured Stone , these blackfella's hail from Koonibba Mission , near Ceduna , SA . They from the Mirning Mob in the Nullarbor in Coastal SA .. Lead vocals is elder Bunns Lawrie and me cousin Cee Cee Honeybee plays the didgeridoo /guitar . Deadly classic blackfella rock :) :) R.I.P : Aunty Bertha Honeybee :(
the colour of your skin is your pride and joy, teach that to your kids, don't let them feel bad because of their skin colour like i did growing up, one of 3 black kids in my class
This band is an unsung Aussie band. I found this tape as a 16 year old. With songs like I’m afraid of the dark and black boy I played it over and over till my brother threw the tape plus 3 others at me during a fight. Now 50 I would love to see more of this bands music.
@@tarokeefe7722 and friend, the song so powerful for it's time. He's a brilliant songwriter. Good on you guys for about other songs and artists. This is a good oldie from the Warumpi band ua-cam.com/video/d6Enm5OXaJs/v-deo.html
@@ralsharp6013 i love warumpi band. Stomping ground got me when nothing else did. Abc rage 3 am droning on till warumpi band, or. Coloured stone🙂. Huge powerful spirit in the songs
I remember when if first heard this on the radio in '84, I was hooked, and bought the single. One of Australia's best songs for sure. But I like "I'm Going Back to Alice Springs" even more.
Watching On the Road Channel 34 Special on Coloured Stone. What a rock n roll band!!!!! Bunna Lawrie ROCKS. I used to work at Coorabie, near Koonibba. Bloody dry out there. Years with no rain, then it rained. It was such a shock to the station owner he fainted. They had to chuck a bucket of dust on his face to bring him around.
Apart from a couple of our TV shows and our music just about every thing that has something to do with aboriginal people is just flooded by "reclaim Australia" type people. If it weren't for the Muslims we'd be coping the most in the country.
white Aussies hate an aboriginal song. or when we succeed. look at all the great aboriginal artist with great songs.... left out. they would rather Kylie minogue or some white bands this is real Aussie music

I'm a Aboriginal If i have to be honest I didn't know this song until the drunken people played this but it's one of the greatest song I ever heard
