Awesome buy. I have 2 Celica GT's and are fun like no other car I've ever drove. Just replace the door actuators and she'll lock up no problem. Enjoy your ride
@@hasansakib3502If you're still wondering, yes. But the back seat space is pretty small. Definitely would recommend the shorter guys out of the 4-man group sit in the back.
Congratulations the white looks amazing, I’m about to buy a black one for $3k I live in australia so especially now that’s a bargain and it’s gonna be my first car i’m so excited
3k is crazy cheap for aus rn. I'm from NZ, looking at buying one this weekend. If I buy it it'll set me back $9.3k. It does only have 103,000km on it though (64,000 mi), and its an import from Japan so hasn''t had any other owners. If it looks clean I'll probably cop it.
Congrats dude! The rubber bump stops on my 2003 GT-S hatch were the source of noise from the trunk when going over bumps. They dry out and break down. Throw a little grease on them until you can source a replacement, or just send it. I’m pretty sure the rev-limiter is set to 8200 RPM, even if the redline is 7800 RPM. Mine is around 8000 in the 2003, even though the tach still shows 7800. Could be wrong. Anyway, sweet ride. Enjoy. These are such fun cars and it’s cool to see one in such great shape and still stock.
Forgot to mention, I had to replace both door actuators within a few months of owning my car. It’s a thing for sure, sadly. The hardest part is sourcing them, but replacing them is easy.
Nice score! Your video popped up on my feed, probably because I bought my son an 01 GT-S several months ago. He's really enjoying it and has all kind of plans for it! 😂 I love the 2ZZ engine, as I had one in my old 03 Vibe GT and it was a blast in lift. I swear it sounds like a Japanese bike when driven hard!
If you feel the shaking in the steering wheel, it will not be your front struts. If you feel your seat, shaking, most likely you will need strut in the back. They’re nice made by Yamaha and you could rev them. I believe that’s what they were made for. it’s just sports car. If you buy aftermarket seats they’re gonna be almost to the floor. That’s the give you the confidence of getting curves they’re awesome. I own one myself.

I have a Celica GTS also nice buy. Have to say though when you were revving this car it sounds like an angry cow 😆! Not sure what's going on with that setup
@@thegamingguy1 ahh fair enough haha. Looks like a good example, I've owned mine for 6 years so if you had any questions let me know. Regarding the boot, try to unlock it with the key/fob button. Also the button in the centre console you pressed to try and unlock the boot is a weird button..it stops the passenger window from going up and down whenever you press the button to lower your windows (doesn't do anything to the boot)
A rust free Celica in NY? TF how? I would get the mileage read with OBD off the body modules to verify it since the console is incorrect. If you bought that from a dealer and it had an odo swap they should be reported.
lol paid $7,500 but more like $10,000 after dealer pay-per-month on my 01' GT-S with 141K miles late last year. No clue where people find these so cheap because here in oregon you see them all the time 200K+ miles for WAY more than you paid.
Honestly I was in a pretty depressed period of my life where I was just habitually checking Facebook marketplace out of boredom every 45 minutes when this popped up lol in my experience deals like this get snatched IMMEDIATELY so checking frequently and messaging them asap is a must. Imo when it comes to buying and selling, the stuff that's hard to teach is recognizing a good ad from a bad ad. Pictures, how many, what quality, what angle... has the person never held a phone before? Description, does the person even know about cars/this car? Could they be withholding info? Is this a sincere seller? Are they trying to flip the car? Is the seller young or old? Private or dealer? Is there incentive for the seller to charge a high price (ex Toyota supra, Honda civic type r) on this car? Older gentlemen and younger early 20s guys specifically will give you the best deals I think since there's not so much to lose or gain for them right. Some more stuff to consider when buying is, where's the market trending? is stuff going up and down? and is the car I'm looking at potentially going to go up or down in value? What is the person's messaging style, are they very descriptive over text or do they seem very anti social? There's just sooo much to go over that you have to learn from experience. Basically how I found this was, I didn't care about Celicas whatsoever, but I was looking for any Toyota with a 2zz because it's basically the cheapest engine with V-tec you can get in a daily driver at a good price. In a way to me, this almost guarantees it to be a future classic cause V-tec in the late 90s and early 2000s was a different experience that you can't get today. This car popped up, I messaged the guy, he was willing to haggle on his price of 5k, and I went to get the car the next day. Meeting up with him, it was a green flag because he was a diesel mechanic in his early 20s who had a f350, and the only reason he got the Celica is cause his friend gave him a good deal on it. You could even tell he didn't really know how to drive it either. So he didn't really know much about the car or care about it at all, he just wanted the money, which is really the goldilocks scenario. Honestly above all I just like looking for deals and learning about cars and their history so it probably comes more naturally to me than other people lol anyways if you read all that, thanks so much!! Feels good to ramble at 4am sometimes haha
@@thegamingguy1 Eh, almost all car ads kids put up are complete garbage with terrible pictures. I'll never understand it. I only did one myself for my 94' Camry with super detail and everyone said it was too long and frankly almost no one read it. Last time I did it was buying my 1988 Toyota Supra from an old enthusiast and the ad wasn't amazing, but he and the car was. Best buy ever. You are super lucky lift even worked in your car though. Despite how much I paid, my lift bolts were broke so that's a $1,000 bill just for that. Lift is absolutely bonkers though.
@@rushnerd ahahaha that's true about the Camry you can never win with people, someones always gonna complain lol dang so wait the dealer sold you a car with broken lift bolts? What a bummer 😔 she pulls tho, that's all that matters right 💪

Good price for low miles 👌 I just got me a 01 gts with 207k for 2800 a bit rough on the outside
I heard the engines had problems revving in the 6,000-7,000 rpm range
No problems as long as you have the revised (03 and later) lift bolts!

I want this car as my first car but Ik I’ll use it as a daily driver. Would u recommend it as a daily driver or nah?
Dude 100% as long as you're not transporting large equipment and a bunch of people, the car is super fun to drive and has lots of space inside!
I have a white 2001 just like this minus the gold and an autograph transmission.

Clean motor!
