- Hi you guys! In today's video we are pulling up the old floors and installing the new ones. Also, I decided to start on the painting because our contractor was unable to come the days we thought he was coming. I tried to make the best of the time and knock out some of the other jobs that needed to be done. I hope you enjoy following along with us on this journey! We love and appreciate you all!

Good grief. Marion is a beast.....in the best possible way. Y'all are the hardest working couple. I am having 2 bedrooms painted and hardwood floors put in. My whole house has exploded! So excited for you!💕
OMG you two have been working sooooooo hard BUT it will be SOOOOOO WORTH IT. Love your ideas. Was talking with my husband about some of your ideas and he told me to turn OFF your vlog 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. However I get a lot if inspiration from you and will continue to move on with the task that I want done. I have 4 grown kids from 52 to 44 who can help me if I need it. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Sorry I posted twice. I had to tell you the helpful hint before I forgot. Your rooms are really coming together. They are looking so pretty. I love everything you matched up. It is so pretty. We made a temporary cooking spot in our dining room for the refrigerator and stove when we did our kitchen. We were held up by the cabinets coming in. Even though they said they had them in stock, they didn't have all of them so we had to wait for 2 cabinets to come. It is always something on a remodel. Don't get upset. It doesn't do any good and takes away the excitement of the finish! Don't work too hard! God bless.
Your doors are so beautiful - love the pantry doors painted also It really does tie it all together. I love your attitude - just taking it all in stride. Your hubby is such a hard worker and you can tell he just adores you☺️It really is looking farmhouse❤️
Yes, you and your husband are such a good team! The first video I ever saw of yours was when you redid your tile on your countertops, so this is really special to see you getting your new kitchen! I bet you can’t wait until you have your kitchen back.

You’re SO LUCKY that your cabinets come already assembled!! We in 🇬🇧 buy our cabinets flat pack and we had to assemble before fitting into the walls etc... 😩 twice the work!!! Take care guys as I cringed & my toes curled up when you and Marian worked around the kitchen BARE-FEET!!! 😱😂 xx
I thought that too about the cabinets. Amazing to buy readymade kitchen cabinets. Everything seems so different - I’ve never seen stick on tiles, are they lino?

I am SO beyond excited for you to be getting a new kitchen! I'm not even kidding...you deserve it so much and I know it's going to be absolutely beautiful when you're finished! You guys are putting in work for sure...but, what an amazing feeling to step back and be able say "we did that!". Love Love Love it all and can't wait to see the end result!
I was reading through some comments after I posted and it made me remember that I wanted to mention the under counter lights also. I got some from Amazon and they are LED that plug end to end so that you can use as many as you want. They're also dimmable and you never have to worry about batteries. They are also relatively flat so you really can't see them unless you look under the counter...and not pricey either. Just a thought :) I usually leave mine on very dim at night just as a night light.

Arika, I bought those lights and they eat batteries. My husband found a tape strip of LED lights that plug in for under the counter. They work great.
Getting it done. A labor of love. I think it will be appreciated more because y'all did all the work YOURSELVES. 💙
You have both been working so hard. Keep the goal in mind on those hot, hard days. We remodeled out kitchen and I know how you feel like the whole house is in a mess. Ours turned out to be a long time span because when we took down the drop ceiling, we found out our siding was leaking into our ceiling. We needed to wait several months for the person to put new siding on the house. One thing led to another. I like the colors of paint that you chose and how you are trying the three rooms together.
Watching with my youngest. She suggested you and the dad work through the night and it will go faster. Hahaha I told her I would tell you. It's looking SO good! I'm so excited for you to get to do this, I know it's been something you have dreamed of for a long time!!!
I think the variation in the floor tiles gives it character 💖

The 'Dayflower' paint color was very pretty, but I think the 'Icy Teal' color might turn out even better. And I really like the countertop you chose. Everything is looking great so far! Kudos to Marion (that's a lot of hard work). 👏🏻🙌🏻
I know the contractor delays and the untidiness can be frustrating, but just think about how frustrating it is for all of us to have to wait to see your finished kitchen 😆. But seriously, it will all be worth it when you are enjoying your 'new' kitchen.
I just saw a redo where they had the same ceiling and covered it with tin the decorative and then painted it white so gorgeous looked so vintage farmhouse. Love your floors

Your kitchen will be lovely. I suggest that you use the same flooring as in the living room for kitchen, laundry & entryway. This will give you a more cohesive spacious look. The color will go so well with countertop. God bless you!

Yes, you and your hubby make a great team and the progress on your kitchen is amazing, even though it is slower than what you’d like. 😅 The color you chose for your kitchen really makes your faux brick wall pop! I love how you handled the setback with the contractor. You're so right because it's not worth getting stressed even if it is frustrating. Everything is looking so nice. I have learned a lot from you. You've gave me confidence to do things with my kitchen.
Awe Arika, it is looking so nice . Iam inpatient as well , you are so Blessed to have such a wonderful husband . My precious husband has had both hips replaced and it is so hard for him to get up and down , but God Bless his heart he is still a workaholic. Anyways can’t wait for the finish project. Wow! It's all looking great! I know it's hard though having the center of the house torn up. I've always heard it was hard to renovate like that and still live there, too, but your positive attitude is working!
Great way to find a stud is with a magnet. Hold the magnet against the wall and move it across the wall, the magnet will stick to the nails in the studs. Easier to find with that than a stud finder. Just a tip I learned from someone else. It WORKS!
Anytime you apply peel and stick flooring, always be sure to use Henry flooring adhesive first, brush it on with a paintbrush and then stick your tile! It will never lift. Several professional flooring installers gave me this tip. You'd be surprised how many new expensive homes have this flooring.

We are currently doing a kitchen reno as well and we are doing open shelves. I found really nice shelf brackets at Wal-Mart near their light bulb area. They have different sizes and are very nice heavy duty black brackets. We got the larger size and they cost about $6.00 each. I pray your remodel goes smoothly. We are nearing the end of ours, thank you Jesus!! I can't wait to be done with the mess 😥 Love, love, love your channel ❤

Great vlog! You have a great eye. I’ve always “marked” a freshly painted kitchen wall before putting new cabinets or appliances to hide it with a loved bible verse or saying. It’s fun to think if I or someone else replaces something they get an inspirational or fun bonus smile while rehabbing & I know every time I open a cabinet what’s behind it. The whole family can be involved.

Girl what a job. It will be beautiful. I would love to redo mine but I'm not married to a handy man of no kind he is 100% a tim the tool man. He even put door knobs on backwards! Gets knobs for the front door yeah had to take them back because it was a bathroom door knob! So yeah I wont be doing that until I find a handyman. Lol I cant wait to see it. But I'm gonna miss the old kitchen. I love that house as u know. Send love an prays for yalls arms and backs!

It's all looking so great I have the same time on my floor and I love it. Redoing our kitchen electric skillet you can cook so much and one of them anywhere for casseroles to just doing dinners.

I saw you have a crock pot, great when your in this type situation. A meat meal in the pot all day, then cook paste, and scoop your meat meal...over it. Chicken Alfredo, Stuffed peppers, over penne....etc. supper easy.... Love watching the transformation...nice job.

Marion is the man again! I was holding my breath when he was screwing so close to his foot. Lol. I really like those color changing lights I can see you using them in your clean and decorate with me final shot red for Valentine's day green for St Patrick's day. About food planning for next week----With a crockpot, an electric griddle, and a couple of Instant Pots, I was able to cook without missing a beat while my stove was out of commission. Maybe you can carve out a temporary spot for batch cooking for the week. LUV your channel!

It is fun watching your kitchen remodel! I also did a 'budget' remodel in my tiny kitchen about 7 years ago, using ready made cabinets from home depot, and they have held up great. My cabinets were the old wood kind like yours. When I bought my house a few years earlier, I thought I would be happy with the vintage cabinets, but ended up deciding to change them. You will be amazed at how much more you can store in them, and keep better organized. Easier to clean too. I also got new laminate countertops (I say granite schmanite, lol). cannot remember the brand I got, but the color is called Soapstone.
