I was discriminated by our government with the policy of affirmative action and promoting only minorities. I quit after 20 years and my job lost all their NavSea contracts within a year. They now have buy all the motors and generators when they fail or they send them out to rewind shops as far away as the East coast. I had one minority who was trustworth enough to follow instructions for winding less complex 3 phase motors. He left and within 2 years I was retired at 40. I never had a black be able to even band cables in the prescribed and approved way. We had to drop 4 tiers of wire ways in one main passageway on an aircraft carrier because our affirmative hire put them all on the wrong direction. I don't care if a person is green,red or yellow or white but if he can't do the job I would send him back to the office and let them deal with it. I had quite a few whites who were not competent but the difference between them was they never got promoted to get them away from tools.
