Not worth the upgrade from Series 5. WatchOS 7 has impacted the battery life mainly due to sleep tracking, get about 34 -36 hours with an always-on display.
My Series 6 Titanium is on its way, sort of wish it came in colors other than light and dark, blue or gold would be cool.
Just picked up the Graphite Stainless Steel model with Graphite Milanese loop and it’s beautiful. Upgraded from the series 4 and I’ve noticed that it’s faster and heaps smoother than my series 4

nicolas I sold my series 0 few weeks ago and not planning to buy an apple watch again until they make any physical improvements like a round face, better battery etc.
@@m4st3rm1nd9 I also hoped for better battery life. The thing is that the new processor is 40% more efficient and (probably, at least from the leaks) the battery is bigger. So theoretically they could have pushed it to about 22 to 24 hours. I also think you should get that when turning off the always on display. However, they chose to make that always on brighter and use up that power budget. I'm pretty sure, though, that the battery life should be better than the series 5 regardless, just not enough to make a different battery life claim.

Walkie Talkie feature would not work on iWatch 5. Apple Support five months...they tried everything, endless calls, live iPhone support, etc. Finally Apple approved to exchange for iWatch 6, small charge for upgrade. I need the feature for a medical condition, one touch communication.

Yes! For day to day basis you wont be using the ECG and the oxy app.

I am going from series 2 to series 6, I think it will be a great upgrade. Thats how I typically do apple products, even with new features they add each new model, personally its not worth it to me to upgrade until it has been about 4-5 years.
I’ve thought about it for a few days, and I’ll probably be keeping my Series 5. WatchOS 7 gave me 95% of the new features. I’ll probably wait until the Series 7 to upgrade.

I am getting my S6 next week, so this was really useful. One thing which was really helpful for me, was seeing the smaller size on a wrist. Most people seem to have the larger size, so nice to see some footage of the size I am getting!

The 1.5 hour fast charging of the Series 6 (2.5 hours for Series 4 and 5) is important for those who are going to use their Watch for sleep tracking. Most people will be able to fully charge the Series 6 while they get ready for work, school, etc. In the morning. 2.5 hours is too much time.
Mr. Luigi until next year when iOS 8 comes out it will drain your battery like iOS 7 did my series 5
Mike O'Driscol-Hi Mike, There is a new chip in the Series 6. More energy efficient while also being more powerful. Your Series 5 has an older chip in it. It's the same chip as in the Series 4.

Right, I stand behind the apple watch and the iPad being the best smart devices of their respective types, wearable smart watch and tablet, but the iPhone or MacBook ehh. Macbooks last a long time without fear that it will slow down. Galaxies can do more than any iPhone can, but I will say I am in both tech companies.
No bias, just facts. Currently I'm using a series 5 but I want a bigger face so I'm going to upgrade to the 6 42mm.
Highly recommend the iPad and Apple Watch. Both are great devices and are nearly unmatched.

Abhratanu Jana people who wanna buy the apple watch probably have an iPhone and wanna use it to call or read notifications or whatever iPads cant call they never will, iwatches are meant to be compatible with iphones bc the iwatch is the next after AirPods and iphones
Thanks for the review Aaron. The always-on is my most wanted feature so I’d recommend even a Series 5 if you can get one on sale now that the S6 is out.
My wife and I have the series 5 and do like the always on feature. However, it slightly powers down and when outside in the sun, it’s difficult to see in that powered down (dimmed) state. He suggests upgrading to the Series 6 from the 5 may not be worth it and we agree since we just got ours in February. For you, it may be better to get the 6 as that screen is supposed to be brighter and more easily viewed in the bright sun. Unless, of course, there is a significant cost difference. Then, I think you’d be very satisfied with the 5. When on my daily walk, I just wait until I’m in a tree shaded area and I can see the watch face more than adequately. If you are in the bright sun, tap the watch face and it goes full bright and is easy to see.
Fred Eversole ... That’s weird because on my series 5, I can see the display just fine in sunlight and my battery lasts the entire day.. maybe a day and a half sometimes.
On another note, I will skip the series 6 for now. I can do without the new chip and b/o sensor.
Sherman Graham, that makes me wonder if I have the brightness turned down. Our batteries were also lasting longer than the 18 hours of daily wear. After OS7, it dropped to under 12 hours. After trying all recommended solutions, we gave up and did the scary Un-Pair and Re-Pair. Turns out, it was very simple and straight forward AND it fixed the battery problem. They are now well over 18 hours. They will still be at 70%+ after 12 hours. Oddly, it sounds as if everyone’s watches don’t handle updates the same. Maybe that’s why Apple doesn’t say to do the Un-Pair Re-Pair as routine - which shouldn’t be needed anyway.

I got the RED 40 mm for Xmas and I’m absolutely IN LOVE 😍 with the thing. It’s so pretty and so useful! I was one of those people who thought owning an AW was unnecessary if you already had an iPhone. But this series 6 is THE bomb! So many useful features. It seems more a watch than ever with the Always On Display. Sometimes I feel a little stupid for staring lovingly at my watch for so long.
Thanks for the review Aaron. I ordered the sport 6 for the o2 sensor. Coming from a series 4. I have almost severe sleep apnea and need to use an APAP machine. Measuring my O2 every night will further tell me how effective the APAP therapy is going. Super excited 😊!

I’ve ordered the blue WiFi & gps only and the blue braided solo loop band. Since this is my first Apple Watch, everything is new to me. I’ve got a lot to learn but the health features was the decision factor for finally getting one since I’m 69 years old and will stop counting next year at 70!! Love your reviews and updates❣️

I have a Product Red iPhone XR, but the same colour watch would have been a bit too much for me, so I’ve got a new Series 6 44mm Space Grey on order to replace my same colour Series 4. I like the idea of the ‘always on’ display and the new ‘blood oxygen’ sensor, and I also got a reasonable trade-in price from Apple on my Series 4, so I’m happy 😊
When Apple announced this watch I thought on buying but since my Series 4 is running like new I’ll probably get an iPad instead

I ended up going with the blue 44mm aluminum with the blue sport loop
Horacio Estrada Aluminum just feels very cheap to me, and the ion x glass is crap, my original model Apple watch was stainless steel and the sapphire crystal display is still nearly perfect after 3 years of wear and over 6 years of being in my possession, while only 2 years of my aluminum series 4 already has very noticeable scratches.

jesus_too_swole , i would like that too. My watch 5 is not consistent on some days. Most days my battery uses 30-40% in a nine hour period, and then the next day it’s only has about 10% left after about nine hours and the thing is that I don’t change any of the settings and I don’t work out so I don’t understand where all the battery power is going to. If anyone knows of an app that shows how much power is being used by each app it would be appreciated.

I don’t agree that there is no charge plug with it. We shouldn’t have to use another plug from another device just to charge it when I should come with one anyway. Very cheap in my opinion.

Yes I bought the 6 gps and cellular silver. Nike sport band black, obsidian (light green), and in the box is a charcoal band. I only like silver.

Also the setup with AT&T took forever. I basically had to wait till the watch updated the software before the cellular part was able to be fully activated.

I am still happy with my Series 4 wifi. New features are nice to haves (not must haves), but no need for them, the only thing that might make me consider is a better battery.

I love my series 6, I’ve never wanted an Apple Watch but after a med scare last week my cardiologist recommended I get one just so we have an extra set of eyes and data to refer back to. So far it far exceeds my expectations and I really like having it. I got the silver aluminium with the navy sport band.

I want the new solo loop, but it takes months to be available in my country and I decided to cancel my pre-order, I am not 100% sure the home measurement is perfect, so I want to test it once it is available before buying it, so I am sure to get the right size. And at least I will keep spare band that is actually available now.
I. recently purchased my first ever Apple Watch, which happens to be the Series 6 with cellular. I love it! I’m an older women who is not terribly tech savvy. I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to easily figure out all the features. I am so pleased to find it’s actually very simple to learn . I’m sure there are more features I have yet to discover, but I am so happy with my purchase. I have not found any issues using it along with my Iphone 8 plus.
I have a Series 2 watch which has been okay for me but I am over 65 and really like the fall detection and always on display so I went for the 6 not 6SE. Delivery date supposedly Oct 6 - Oct 9. We'll see

Currently using a series 4 stainless steel cellular version. Just upgraded and waiting to arrive the series 6 Nike space grey cellular. One of the reason for upgrading is the always on display, compass, and would like to try the oxygen feature.
As much as I like the look of the new watch I’m pretty satisfied with my AW4, battery life can be extended which it doesn’t sound like the 6 would give me anyway.
What’s your opinion about the red color?
I really want to buy it but I am thinking that it would really “stand out” on my wrist.

Bought the Midnight Blue and Product Red today. Liked the Blue better so I gave my son the Red. Really like the improved brightness of the always on display. I’m in healthcare and can vouch that the pulse oximetry readings were spot on today. Just waiting for the battery life experience. Didn’t go with cellular as I found I don’t use my watch without a phone,
What was the red circular icon on the watch face? Is that a special (PRODUCT) RED watch face or the blood oxygen complication? It was over by the 3 on the watch face.

Ive never had cellular in my other watches but id like to go to the store and the gym and other places without always carrying my phone
Mighty Murph we have Verizon and it’s a $10/month charge. The watch mimics your cell number and it appears as if it’s your phone calling when you call someone. It’s is not a separate number and we like it that way. I keep the watch on silent so it only vibrates with any notification. When the phone rings, the phone is also silent and both phone and watch vibrate. Answer on either. If you answe on watch, You can then pick up phone and switch from watch to phone if you wish. I keep cellular turned off to save battery unless I’m out or range of my phone.

I'm upgrading from the 5 to the 6 and I got the 40 mm white GPS only version again just because it's more neutral and sells better later on when I want to sell it in a year or two. I'm waiting very impatiently for Amazon to finally bring it to me... it was supposed to come today but now it says Monday or Tuesday which is really annoying but yeah ... xD

I ordered the series 6 product red 40 mm WiFi Addition Apple Watch
I recently upgraded from a Series 0 Apple Watch to a Series 6 (in the Product RED Color) at 40mm Case. It was this video that swung it for me to buy the Red one, because you have some really good Lighting there that made it pop! The Series 6 is Streets Ahead of my old one, in terms of the Battery Life and how much faster the Start-Up time is now when powering it up either out of Power Reserve Mode or OFF! It has a more Brighter Red color than my Product RED iPhone XR, which I wasn’t expecting.... but I really don’t mind! I can’t wait until you unbox an iPhone 12 Pro!!
