U.S. Coast Guard Surfmen conducts heavy weather surf training aboard small rescue boats.
The Surfmen is highest qualification in the United States Coast Guard for small boat operations. The Coast Guard only certifies approximately 10 surfmen per year, expect an average of four years of training to become a qualified surfman.

Watching this with modern boats involved really makes me appreciate just what Bernie Webber did in a 36 footer in the early 1950's.

陸上勤務から海に出ると2週間ぐらいは大変とも言っておられました。沿岸警備隊も海上保安庁も頑張ってください。

I spent four years at Cape Disappointment! I was there when the 47200 arrived and failed it electrically. They ended up sending out a tec rep and Master Chief to confirm the builder botched the wiring. Everything was wired to ground like a car, and you can't do that on a boat or ship.

波を越えて跳ねてる小さな巡視艇がカッコよくて可愛い！
波を超える操船って、乗ったこと有る人にしか解らない難しさがあるんですよね。
真正面より少し角度を付けて針路を取り、波の谷では速度を抑えつつも舵の効く回転数を維持し、波を乗り越える瞬間はプロペラレーシング（空転）を防ぐ為にスロットルを絞る。
これを荒天航海中は続けなければならないんですよね
