I wish I knew people like you two in real life, when I try to explain ems bars to my friends and family then just look at me with a blank expression...it hurts my head trying to understand why and how they don't get it lol
It's the same with me. I'm the only one I know that listens to this sort of rap all the time, looking at the lyrics. No one else gives a fuck. They just put some music on as background noise. I put it on to listen, study and understand it.
@@mawangshallhang it's probably the reason I'm not into that many artists, they have to impress me with how they bend words and play with the English language. If the artist can't do that then they have to be saying something meaningful and there's just not enough of that music around these days. One of my favourite artists to drop after em has to be hopsin and it's basicly for the way he delivers his bars and how he clearly has passion for the music he is making and not just in it for the money like people like drake and Nicki minaj and shit, yeah it's ok to put on at a party while ya having a drink and smoke but not to sit and listen to properly
He was foreshadowing the return of Slim Shady back then. Nobody was paying attention. Did you catch the reference to Chloraseptic? Interesting how Em used that remix to bring Shady back after Revival. Sometimes I feel like Eminem has planned every step, and misstep, since returning in 2009...borderline genius. Love your breakdowns!!!
Actually he goes back and listens to a lot of stuff for ideas especially when it comes to naming things. Just like hell: the sequel. He named it that because at the end of the song they say, see you in hell for the sequel. And then the first song was welcome to hell. He always goes back and that's why it always seems like foreshadowing. He has made kamikaze lines also. That's where he got the name for that album as well.
THANK YOU FOR THIS COMMENT! I firmly believe that he an idea for everything up until Revival. The opening two tracks on Revival (Walk on Water and Believe) is where I started to piece everything together. My Darling was perfectly placed alongside Careful What You Wish For on the Relapse:Refill deluxe edition. A section of the album that was going to be overlooked and ignored by the average listener because he wanted his hints to be subtle. Keep in mind he had an entirely different album which was changed as he was getting closer to his deadline strictly due to the response of mixed reviews at his label. Without Relapse there would have never been a Recovery. He literally stated this himself in an interview about Revival. When Recovery dropped; Eminem started doing Eminem things again and gave us a glimpse of what's to come while also still continuing to let us know where he feels he is at in life. People responded by saying that he was getting 'soft' because he had just started to show a more mature and aging side to him. And then MMLP2 dropped. This album is where he realized that he had full control to do literally anything he wanted at this point. MMLP2 was a commercial success to follow up after Recovery. People again responded but their opinion of the album was nearly the opposite of what they said about Recovery. He was rapping his ass off but wasn't really saying anything. They called the Slim Shady persona something of the past because it sounded forced and dated. The response from MMLP2 lead directly into the opening line of Walk on Water "Why are expectations so high" as the album ended on the line from Arose saying "Now I know" which was one of the main things that went over the heads of the masses. Revival continued to foreshadow things to come with the track 'Believe' and the removal of 2 Chainz from the album. Em knew before and after the tracklist was released what type of response he was going to get but what hurt him is that he didn't think it would go as far. Keep in mind Revival was a blend of every album I just mentioned prior. Which lead to Kamikaze and MTBMB. Addressing rappers, critics, and anyone else trying to take away his legacy because the albums didn't meet their expectations / standards.
There are still some they missed or at least didn't mention. Like "And from the start of it you felt like you were part of this and opposition felt the opposite" "a part of this" meaning being included and the opposite "apart of this" meaning being separate from it. So with one line Em said 2 completely opposite things.

There is a difference between "Custodian" and "Janitor". Janitor just does basic cleaning (restrooms, windows, mops, sweeps, trash, recycle etc.) A "Custodian" does all the things a "Janitor" does but... a "Custodian" has a greater responsibility of having "Custody" of a builiding, as in making sure everything is in working order as in (electrical, plumbing, boilers, HVAC systems) and the workplace or school is safe for everybody. For instance, I'm a Head Custodian at an Elementary with roughly 500 kids. I'm a Custodian. Not a Janitor. I make sure the building is not only clean and safe, but all plumbing, electrical & heating/cooling systems are running how they're supposed to and submit work orders to have them fixed if they aren't. Not usually offended when people mix up the titles, and do agree some job titles can be over done, but at the same time I can feel degraded or offended when someone calls me a Janitor when I do waaayyy more than just clean my building. It can be offensive to some people. Normally I don't take it to heart because I know a lot of people don't know or understand the difference. I do enjoy my job and keeping my school safe and clean for these teachers and kids. (end rant lol)
