Mr S reads a fantastic narrative poem, first published in 1913. Children could research some of the unusual vocabulary. They could find out about the times in which it is set: there are clues in the text with references to King George. They could write diary entries as the characters or newspaper articles of the events. They could write an additional stanza for the poem, using similar language and themes.
