Thank you for the honest review. That's a 58x76mm compressor on our 58.8x67.3mm 9-blade turbine. It don't use the conventional 62x68mm Garrett turbine wheel. That's why we call them "Specs". :) And also why it has a similar spool to an 18k. We've seen around 540whp on e85. On this same turbo.
Makes sense. I like it though, better than the fp 18k. And for stock motor more cost effective than the Garrett series as long as the support is there. I wonder how it would be with a 3.5"/4" inlet.
Well being stock frame there arent many options to make the housing itself large enough for a 3.5 or 4" inlet without doing a compressor housing revamp. And would likely not meet the results desired and make installation more complex. Our new open scroll bolt on turbine housing that enlarges the exhaust housing and flow restrictions is really the game changer on these. And should net more power at the expense of a few hundred rpm spool.
Great vid! It would be nice to see some more owner reaction clips like you had in the end of previous videos. I really enjoyed their reactions, especially on the high hp builds.
This is exactly my setup with the 3.5 map intake ,ets IC and I made 534 on e80 on 30 psi. That stupid long bolt on the manifold keeps backing out, any tips on how to keep it tightened
Will a 4b11 line up with my automatic CVT? (2012 SE) if not what all needs to be changed to accommodate the Evo X 5 speed manual. Looking to do a similar swap to that of your friends 2015 ES
Can a MHI 18k turbo with full bolts on & flex tune on a MR kozmic rebuilt sst get me the 500hp or should i go with a bigger turbo? Goals 500-510hp Great videos btw 👏🏽
Hey man, now that my fuel shit is repaired can I ask you something? lets say i buy everything to bolt on my mr, intercooler, pipes, exhaust, intake, fuel pump, grimmspeed, gauges. and i wanna do it all at once, what would be the procedure? just slap everything to the car, and drive like a grandma to get tuned? do I need to do a first ignition on and leave it on like some minutes before driving or something? thanks bro.
@jeremye6662 imo they're the most responsive turbos you can get for a "reasonable price", but unreliable if pushed hard. You ABSOLUTELY need a turbo speed sensor if you plan on pushing them. The reason is that the Gamma-Ti turbine wheels on them are half the weight of regular Inconel wheels. The improved transient response was noticeable when I drove a car with one and compared it to my GTX3582r. Other than sponsorship, there's a reason a bunch of race cars like the Tilton evo run them. Also, I know 2 guys who have pushed an EFR9280 to the limit on a 2JZ. One guy made around 1100whp without a speed sensor and eventually blew it up after a few hundred miles. The other guy monitored the max wheel speed and made around 1050whp. His ended up blowing up after around 15k HARD miles. If you keep it well within the compressor map, they will last.

@@cr6118 point me to a link where I can get more info on this game changer open scroll
:)
@@cr6118 where can i find your turbos?cant seem to find a website or page

I got a turbo-hot side from Chris for my stock turbo and it works great. Great video.
Yes , it's good. I feel it will benefit for a larger turbo inlet though
Good power with basically an upgraded turbo.
Can the customer share some videos after getting it back from you, that would be a nice addition to your awesome coverage
Dang that's awesome imagine if you had cams.
Yup
I bought a gtx 3582 last year, still haven't installed it. I cant decide if i want something smaller or not lag appears to be pretty bad from videos.

Fully heat cycle it and while it’s still hot. Get in there and snug them up!
Im also running the CR3576 turbo on a built motor
What numbers are you making? @xaviermaddoxjr1
@@MrGearhead17 I'm sorry I put the wrong turbo, I'm running the CR 3591R spec. I'm making 620 at the moment.
Great video like always. Do you recommend Art Gennari Turbos? Still trying to decide on which brand to go with (stock location).
I'm +1 for Turbos R Us
Chris does great work

No chance. You'll be lucky to see 450 on an MR with an 18k, bone stock motor, and e85, on a dynojet.
No
Woow and that’s not even pushing it to its limit !? Is that clutch stock ? Btw love your content man ! Keep up the good work !
Thank u

Nice numbers, what was the injector duty cycle on the ethanol blend you used in this video?
E65% and around 75/80% idc I believe and tuning a bit rich
How do you feel about the borgwarner efr series turbos? I've heard good things about spool time/power but don't think I've seen you tune one before
I do, and I don't post vids of all the tunes I do. They are good but unreliable

That’s not bad at all you can make 500+ with s2 cams
Yes actually we would make it without it I just didn't top it out
What was the ignition issue and solution?
Cylinder 3 was not firing correctly
If you don’t mind me asking how were u able to resolve that issue
Where’s this shop at??
