Hi everyone, in this video, I will talk about the suspension and handling of the KTM 250 Adventure. Please note that the inferences made in this video are formed after riding the motorcycle for a little over 2 years.
As many say, the suspension is on the stiffer side, and it can hit you hard at times when you’re navigating potholes and such unless you’re standing up on the foot pegs. I did notice that, if you adjust the preload and fine tune it, the suspension can behave a bit differently and can be a bit smoother. Also, when there is a pillion riding with you, the suspension feels way better and not at the expense of handling as well. {.....WATCH THE VIDEO TO KNOW MORE......}

Subscribed and watching your videos since you test rode your friend's adv 250 at Coimbatore. Short and sweet is your pattern. Helps me in many ways.
Recently changed my factory fitted rear suspension to the rally one. As weighing under 70, the newer one is better. Feeling better on jolting roads. Yet to play with its adjustments.
Thank you very much for your support, I remember your initial comment on "why i chose the ktm 250 adv..." if I am correct.
That is great to hear! do check and fine tune the adjustments and let us know how it feels.
I would like a discussion regarding this.
Broo can you tell me about the camera you used and setup
Yes brother. I use the DJI Action 4 along with the DJI Mic 2 for wireless audio input. I keep the mic inside the helmet. I have stuck a few magnetic tapes inside the helmet so that the mic can stick to it without falling off.
I feel vstrom would be a better choice, in terms of price and fuel efficiency. What do you think brother?
In those two fronts for sure. You can check out my initial ride impressions of the Suzuki here: ua-cam.com/video/nmxlI173BxE/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Brother what about Suzuki vstorm sx250? Is it good for off-road and city ride both?
I'm not sure about how it handles off road terrain. On the road it's a good motorcycle and better on city roads compared to bigger (in size) Adv's.
@@wheelsontarmac thanks a ton
I also switched to adjustable rear suspension after 2 years. It's a breeze now.
Can you let me know what you mean by "switched to"?
The Adv 250 already has Preload adjustable Rear suspension right?
@@ApurvR yes the stock suspension is preload adjustable . I have switched to damping adjustable suspension which comes with adv 390 SW version.
That is so great to hear. I would love a discussion with you regarding the same. Any differences in handling?
Im also planning to change my rear susp to the adjustable one..
@@wheelsontarmac
To start with I am not a cornering expert, so how it affects cornering , don't know .
I did the mod for comfort , and it is comfortable.
Damping
I can clearly feel the difference going over a bump at 30-40 kmph, I don't have to clench my spine before hitting a speed breaker or undulations on road.
Doing offroad is easier and confident for me now.
Handling
On handling side , the difference is not noticable.
It may feel different for you due to your frame maybe, I'm 5.8 , 70kg the damping tht suits best is around 2-3 clicks on softer setting and stock preload setting, beyond that it becomes way to soft in comparison to front suspension setup and the peppy nature in 3rd gear is affected. With pillion and luggage on soft setting , it starts sagging too much , preload adjust works fine.
Overall it's a comfort , not a performance tweak. If you ride single , no problems at all . If with pillion preload is the magic.
Bro what you think about 250 adv with xpulse rear suspension?
Some people are saying that it works well, whereas some are saying it's too bouncy to the level it's affecting the handling on road. I am yet to meet someone who has done it on their bike. My inferences are from the videos I have seen long back when I myself thought about it.
I think you should research and watch at least 10 videos before you decide on changing the suspension.
