Lopez is facing actresses in best picture frontrunners
And her movie's distributor MGM will prioritize Aunjanue ellis taylor for Nickel boys over her
I have seen blitz and maybe saoirse ronan could be nominated but she will not win. She's great as always but the movie is very flawed
Ingrid from Late Night with The Devil deserves a look, she'll never get it, but she carrys her part in that movie very well
I'm really hoping Late Night with the Devil gets a best original screenplay nom. Won't happen, but it deserves it.
@@travisearl771 i could see that over Ingrid, I hope the indie awards remember it
Rooting for
Margaret qualley (The Substance)
Felicity Jones (The Brutalist)
- Saoirse Ronan (Blitz)
Isabella Rossellini (Conclave),
Aubrey plaza (my old ass)
Natasha Lyonne (His Three Daughters
Rooting against (HATE these actresses!) :
Gomez
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (Nickel Boys),
Deadwyler
Mmmmmmmmm
Toni Collete???
warner is only releasing her film in 50 theaters nationwide
not many people would see it, people who actually matter like academy voters
I think Isabella may not get in.
I agree with Perri, I love Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor in "Nickel Boys".
I'm curious what categories if any do you all think The Life of Chuck will contend for?
None. It is coming out Summer of 2025. It is a mistake to release it next year, so it may not get any nominations as it will lose the momentum it had.
@@tonyg76 Ooooh, that explains why it's not coming up at all! I hadn't checked when the release would be after it got acquired, thanks! That is a bummer, it was my favourite movie at TIFF this year. Hopefully it's still in the conversation next season.
@@JKJonesInCode Hopefully! and you are welcome :)
Blitz is so NOT going to happen 😉 Trailer looks bland, premise sounds boring and Oscar baity, plus the reception so far is underwhelming. Just sayin
Sorry but placing on the shortlist the names of actors in the films these guys haven't watched yet is ridiculous. It's based on hearsay, opinions of others or a 2-minute trailer... Ridiculous.
Every season they speculate on the likely contenders before they are released at large. They have a lot of insider info and its rare a film they've hyped early doesn't gain some Oscar traction.
September 5th? more like FreePalestine, the acadamy is gonna be a mess if that movie gets any nominations
I hope it sweeps. Been a rough fewdays for you eh?
@@travisearl771 Not you supporting genocide, very shameful
Genocide is a specific term with a specific meaning. It’s not a blanket term for “conflict you don’t like”. Read a book.
@@travisearl771 what a gross comment to make. the actions taken by israel have been already described as "genocide" by numerous un experts and courts, resulting in a displacement of an entire group of people and over 50% of deaths who are children. how about you go read a book
Surprised but really not surprised how dismissive they are of Nickel Boys. Perri is right, Ellis-Taylor has a GREAT shot at Supporting Actress (highly touted performance, she has good will with the Academy) and the film is likely to show in Picture and Adapted Screenplay, perhaps even Cinematography, Editing, and Director. Don't count out Nickel Boys this early in the season folks!
I would count it out because the movie is going be a tough sell to voters because it's presented in the first person perspective and that makes it so hard to focus on the performances. I was at a screening at the New York Film Festival and three people from my row walked out of the theater and never came back.
@@davidfilmexpert don't think it will be as tough a sell as you think. The Academy has expanded and is much more open to "weird" movies. We'll see!
These guys are really so unprofessional, so unprepared, this is their day job and they haven’t seen any of the important films like The Brutalist, Emilia Perez or Blitz, it’s laughable that anyone would eat their uneducated opinions.
Guys do your homework and after that you can record your program
You should demand your money back. Maybe you can talk to the manager.
@@chrisf5828 maybe but if it’s as unprofessional as them or as ignorant as you I don’t think I’ll get the reimbursement
they watched all these films, except blitz
@@dahomey2001 hahahaha you really like to embarrass yourself, please do your homework and don’t spill falsehoods that are so easily debunked, all that info is on the video:
1:11 they haven’t seen Emilia Perez
5:43 they haven’t seen Blitz
9:46 they haven’t seen The Brutalist
And if you need additional information to support my point:
8:12 they haven’t seen Conclave
12:14 they haven’t seen September 5th
Hopefully Zendaya will get in for Challengers.
According to Amazon MGM’s FYC site, Zendaya is being campaigned for Lead Actress.
Zendaya is definitely going for Lead Actress. I hope by some miracle she gets nominated there but I don’t think so unfortunately
There is no way Zendaya should be considered supporting for Challengers. That would be peak category fraud.
Zendaya will definitely get in for Comedy Actress at the Globes but not at the Oscars.
zendaya is getting at best a golden globe and sag nomination, but mgm is not prioritizing her movie at all
it's gonna be so funny when Sep 5 doesn’t get any noms 🤣🤣
Its really still too early for this.
Pointless comment
not really, in three weeks start the critics circle award nominations
