I thought I left this already. To make it easy cut some metal just a little bigger than the hole. Put the metal in behind and hold it with a screw driver or something. Some times i just tack the patch to a small metal rod to help get in place. Then crack the small weld to pull the rod out.
Try a little less heat on the thin stuff, small tacks, its getting there chris, we all gotta start somewhere

That’s really not that bad. Flux cores a little finicky on sheet metal. I figured out mine but it took some practice to get it dialed in.
My last patch,I was starting to get it dialed in! I'm working on it.
