  • In the early days of the Beatles, John Lennon purchased a Rickenbacker 325 from a music shop in Hamburg, Germany, and its sparkling, jangly tone quickly became an integral part of the Beatles' sound. The iconic bell-like note bloom of Lennon's Rick also became one of THE rock guitar sounds, and legions of guitarists sought out their own 325s to cop his sound. Of course, the 325 is a short-scale instrument, measuring 20-3/4" from nut to tailpiece. Playing such a different neck requires a not-insignificant amount of adjustment to the player's technique, and some players have a difficult time making the change. Rather than leave Beatles fans with big hands out in the cold, the fine folks at Rickenbacker were kind enough to produce a full-scale version as well. Enter the Rickenbacker 350V63: a 'roided out beast with the same British Invasion tone you remember from your favorite records.
The Rickenbacker 350V63 features a wealth of vintage-accurate appointments, including a trapeze tailpiece, replica tuners, and solid black knobs. But, let's not kid ourselves: what we're most excited about is the three vintage-style toaster pickups. The exacting recreations of Rickenbacker's most famous pickups do not disappoint! The bridge pickup will provide you with all the jangle you'll ever need, the middle pickup dials in some throaty mids beneath the chiming overtones, and the neck pickup is as warm and smooth enough to impress any jazz cat. It all adds up to a versatile guitar with 1960s vibe AND the sort of modern playability that discerning twenty-first-century guitarists demand. We are proud to offer such an inspiring Rickenbacker to our exceptional customers, and we know you will love it eight days a week.

Neck pickup and middle pickup are hard wired together, so you can think of them as “one pickup”. The blend control mixes between those 2 and the bridge. The factory wiring doesn’t have any adjustment for JUST the middle pickup. The blend turned all the way to the hardwired neck and middle pickup can be louder…you just need to make the individual knob is also turned up on volume.

If ever a guitar and a player were poorly matched - - this is it. Absolutely no feel for a Rickenbacker despite being a monster player.
