    The green tough armor case has a far more smooth back piece than the models for the 3a, 4a, or 5a. Those versions of the tough armor had a bit of a gummy soft touch feel, making gripping the device easier. It was more grippy. The 6a tough armor is smoother. I am returning it as I can see it sliding out of my hand easier.
    The black tough armor just arrived today and I instantly could tell the difference. It is a gripper finish. I prefer it, personally.
    I'm going to give poetic cases a try.

    I have the Rugged Armor on my current Samsung phone and love it, especially after years of wading through cases that "sag," around the Charging Port. It'd be my "go to" case for any phone, but not here, as I'm not a fan of those bulging corners. Still, the Liquid Air looks just as good!

    If you're in contact with Spigen....dude... tell them to bring back their best case they ever made... the Slim Armour Wallet Case.
    It was a two piece design, TPU soft inner your phone sat inside, and then a polycarbonate shell that surrounded it on the back, it had a great hinge and front cover also of polycarbonate....it was sleek and protected the phone, you could run a tempered glass screen protector with it as well and still be able to close the wallet cover. The one I had was for the Galaxy Note 3...yes way back when, but it was a gorgeous case, that one even had a clear polycarbonate window that worked with the copper pins underneath the battery cover on the Note(remember the S-View window?) that would shrink down the viewable screen to that size window, but they wouldn't need to have that, just the bare wallet case, polycarbonate and TPU.... nobody makes them like that anymore, and they were so good. I've been looking at buying a Pixel 6A and would kill for a Spigen Slim Armour Wallet for it 😅
    What I'd also kill for, a RhinoShield Crash Guard bumper case, you know, just the outter bumper cover so you can run a skin on the back and a tempered glass screen protector, I used to run my Nexus' like that, but it doesn't seem like RhinoShield makes them anymore, at least for the 6A 😭

    I had a pixel 4a absolutely die from a half foot drop with the Spigen tough case. I was bewildered when I picked it up and LCD was broken.

      with the screen protector on?

    • @AtomicBleach
      @AtomicBleach 2 роки тому +1

      @@med8615 yes the phone had their tempered glass screen protector. Somehow the screen protector was fine, but the LCD itself was damaged. The phone fell out of my pocket while sitting down. Hoping the 6 and 6a are a little more durable but not holding my breath as I've already had to return my pixel 6. When I first received the phone the screen would randomly mess up. It would have times where it would not register touch input at all. I made several recordings of the screen and even recorded the phone going into the return box for the rma. I didn't hear back from google for like a month then got a notification that because the phone screen was "cracked" that I would have to pay $200 something for a new screen.... Since I had video proof of the phone being in perfect condition physically going into the shipping box they eventually refunded me the screen repair cost. The moral of the story is always take a recording of your phone going into the box for RMA. I've heard other people complain about the pixel 6 series screens cracking when coming out of cold weather.

    Can somebody give me some feedback on it?
    What distinguishes the Pixel 6a Rugged Armor from the Thin Flat?
    Is there a significant size (bulky) difference between those two cases, or is it only a small difference?
    I see in the Rugged armour case we have side corner bumps so it will give some protection similarly the Thin fit case will provide any protection ?

    • @GustavMrt
      @GustavMrt Рік тому +4

      First. The Rugged Armor is much more bulky than the thin fit, if you want the best protection without having a bulky case choose the rugged armor, if you want the thinnest possible (but obviously protects less) choose the thin fit.
      The liquid armor is like the thin fit but is more grippy thanks to its texture.
      Here are the cases from highest to lowest "bulk", (number 1 is the bulkiest).
      1. Tough armor
      2. Rugged armor
      3. Ultra Hybrid
      4. Liquid Armor
      5. Thin fit

      My brother used Rugged armour for his poco f1 for almost 3+ years. After 3 and half year case started to break from borders still other 3 edges were holding phone properly. So spigen case are best in class.
      Go for it, I have just ordered rugged armour for my new 6a. Other type of cases have issue of getting scratches and transperant one gets yellow tone after a 2-3 months.

    • @GustavMrt

      In addition to the design difference, the liquid air is thinner.

    • @GustavMrt
      @GustavMrt Рік тому

      Obviously the case will start to deteriorate after 2 years of use, if you take good care of it, it can last longer. Spigen has the best quality price relationship though. Just buy another one.

  • @AtomicBleach
    @AtomicBleach 2 роки тому +2

    Unless they have changed it in the last couple days the Spigen and caseology screen protectors do not fit properly for the pixel 6a... They both have a black border around the screen protector which cuts into the screen real estate.

    • @AtomicBleach
      @AtomicBleach 2 роки тому +3

      @@r.i.pfilthyfrank9835 it wasn't a problem with the pixel 6, my wife's 6a however yes the border cuts into the display. Instead I suggest getting the brand MagGlass from eBay. Comes in a two pack and it also has a screen aligner. It's the only other one I've seen that doesn't have the selfie punchout other than the Mr. Shields which shows a delivery of late September. The protectors with selfie punchouts just collect pocket lint.

      @@vidstige7516 You need a little bit of luck, I used for my Honor 10 the case that was in the box (so very cheap), and although I'm very careful, I dropped my phone around 5 times from above 1 meter and each time, no scratch. After 3 years I had to buy a new case (the old one was yellowish and starting to rip) which I used for a little bit more than a year. It was a similar case, litterally one of the cheapest, and my phone never suffered damage.
      Also the original screen protector is still on it (however full of scratches), but the glass of my phone itself is still in perfect condition.
