I am becoming an LR fan through all of this. LR is spot on with his assessment of the current state of college football. It has literally become a budgeting process. LR’s straight forward approach I think will serve him well. Remarkably in this new era, you can go from the middle of the pack to the top of you have the money.
While the NCAA was pimping the kids for millions, you had no issues with it. Fab 5 Nike's being sold off their efforts.. and they can't buy tacos. As long as they got a degree, what's the issue... while generations of white folks benefit from it. Sorry... no pitty party on my watch. Get to the money...
Sooner fan for life here. I wanted Lincoln to lose, but not lose everybody. At this point, I hope he turns it around. He is a good dude at the end of the day.
The reality is, is that if players want to leave they can without any penalty or commitment. The coaches are left to plug holes from recruits who said they’re committed to the program. Who can field a competitive team each year when you don’t know who you’ll have each year not every two or three years, every year. NFL teams don’t do that because it’s not good business overall.
There is a vision. Tell.that to the dumb kids jumping all over the place looking for the big money . Maybe you should donate all your savings to the team to buy more players
then you ask the current player... what's your production this year? the branch brothers leaving.... what were they asking? their production was certainly average at best.
once a salary cap is in place, and there will be one, it'll be completely different ball game. 4 and 5 stars that oregon and texas and OSU bought will no longer be happy sitting behind other 4 and 5 stars and since your pay will be based on your production, will look to leave to go to another place where they'll be used more. all else being equal, LA will hopefully be a recruiting tool itself. similar to how pro teams attract free agents based on what their location sells them in addition to money alone, hope LA provides an incentive being one of the biggest media markets that has a college team.
UNLV 2024 AP 3rd team All American safety Jalen Catalon just hit the TP. IMHO he's a carbon copy of Kamari Ramsey, maybe better. 61 solo tackles 5 ints 1 FF 4 PD. Ramsay's 39 solo tackels 0 ints 2 FF 6 PD's. As a UNLV fan this was a gut punch. If we cant keep him id like to follow him at USC. The safety combo of Ramsey and Catalon would be the best in college football and it wouldn't be close. They are both hammers. This needs to make it to coach Lynn and LR. This dude will not last how often can you get an All-American at a position of need?
I think that all coaches these days have it rough in college football. I have to give Lincoln a little slack right now. The only thing I would like for him to come to grips with is, the parts of the country you're used to recruiting from are recruiting here, in your backyard, and they're making the playoffs. It' not okay. Please learn that as much success as you've had in those parts of the country you can still do better here. Those other players will come anyway as long as you really try to put a fence around Cali. I see good things in our future because of the moves you're making. The mind field that is retention is a bitch. On that issue I can only cross my fingers. FIGHT ON Lincoln!
We need a GM to handle the overall budget and talent. The contracts should have performance based incentives and outs for lack thereof. The portal should have some limits like for coaching changes or performance issues. It's far too unsteady. I'm not sure how they'll balance things out but the major conferences need to come together. Burn the NCAA to the ground as their corruption is well known. Start with a different football governing party to establish rules for pay and transfer as well as everything else.
Riley will figure it out. I'll give him a few more years. Yeah we gonna lose a lot of players in the portal, But I see SC keeping on to several key players
So predictable that Riley blames the system over he’s incompetence. Riley is the most overpaid HC in the nation and takes zero accountability for he’s actions and inactions. Many in this comment section believe he’s innocents but I see the BS.
The transfer portal and the constant SEC propaganda has almost ruined college football for me. It's only going to get worse now with the new 12 team, soon to be 16, playoff system.
@@rocfitness5747His record would say he objectively “suck”. He’s not good at acquiring high end talent and is play calling has been predictability subpar.
So... translation.. Duce was making too much and giving not enough in return. Zachariah wasn't earning what he was making and his brother wasn't worth the trouble...even though it was all good just a week ago. It was Rhaleek before...changing his position and ruining a great rb. Lincoln is a crybaby.. he built it... now it's burning, and all he has is excuses. While he caves under the pressure of change in college football.. Sark is thriving in it. USC should've treated family better.
Typical Lincoln…arrogant and full of excuses. It’s easy to see why players leave and easy to see why he struggles in recruiting. He comes off as a know it all who doesn’t develop talent and has 0 solutions to problems

Are you related to Riley?
Same. This is the pro football now. Stretching out dollars the right way is crucial

Why your not a coaching @DanielBrumley-ld3kg

I think these schools need gm's like luck at Stanford, also contracts are needed for these business decision s,
What is the vision? We haven’t seen it since 2022
16-0 or bust! That's the vision for next year.
There is a vision. Tell.that to the dumb kids jumping all over the place looking for the big money . Maybe you should donate all your savings to the team to buy more players
Very blunt assessment by Riley. I really appreciated that.
sucker.
He's content with his 10 million while we stay mid.
Easily the best coach in college football! No one would dispute that.
Stop buying Riley’s nonsense
@rogerdodger9567 than why yournor coaching usc
At this point I don’t blame any coaches, this whole NIL and transfers portal era is so screwed up.
Saban got the hell out because he saw the writing on the wall. NCAA will have put a overall salary cap like the nfl
Let’s just hope he knows what he’s doing. I just really want to get back to a winning program.
Going to be tough. If Thanos gets $2M to come to USC, current players will be asking, where my bag for staying?
then you ask the current player... what's your production this year? the branch brothers leaving.... what were they asking? their production was certainly average at best.
He's right can't pay high for potential
Thanks for the update, coach Riley 🙏 👍 🙌. We will do well next year. Fight on Trojans ✌️.
16-0 easy next year

Most of these kids will never play a down in the NFL

Nobody can beat USC next year! Why are they even having a season? Just give us the trophy now!
Can we plz get rid of Lincoln he isn't a good HC great OC bt terrible HC #FireRiley
I agree you should be the coach.you should walk in front office and tell them your the next coach
@papiofisher thanks I appreciate the support 😁
Riley will figure it out. I'll give him a few more years. Yeah we gonna lose a lot of players in the portal, But I see SC keeping on to several key players
Done with hearing him talk, it’s time for him to get players and improve this programs. He’s slow to adapt and behind in talent acquisition.
What are you talking about? Riley is by far the best coach in college football! Everyone agrees with that.
Why don’t you go do it since it’s so easy?
Most coaches look silly in this new NIL area, a lot of top schools are hemorrhaging talent
So predictable that Riley blames the system over he’s incompetence. Riley is the most overpaid HC in the nation and takes zero accountability for he’s actions and inactions. Many in this comment section believe he’s innocents but I see the BS.
So just pay the players whatever they want ? Even the players who have not produced? How is this hus fault. The money isn't coming from him

Don't disagree with a lot of what he said and yet I have zero faith or confidence in his ability to be in charge of any of it
The reality is he sucks on recruiting, and the transfer portal . I'm thinking he has a personality problem. He doesn't connect with the kids
He sucks?? Yea that’s an exaggeration
@@rocfitness5747 7-5, 6-6 sucks for USC standards. Go whiteknight for a 10 million dollar coach who can't recruit and who has a sub 500 record.

You're clueless. It's a business. They are leaving to chase a bag, or Lincoln is saying goodbye if they are asking for a stupid amount of money.
Time for LR to go. He’s destroyed SC program and culture. Go get Gruden, Caroll or Urban Meyer.
