Satan I hear you, however you can still connect to the music without changing the music. In fact, in high school we were required to. I was in choir and we went to competitions, we weren't allowed to change a single thing. That's because the ultimate goal was to preform the piece and capture the song, and convey it the way the composer intended, without having to alter the piece. That's true musicianship in my eyes.

Satan I hear you, however you can still connect to the music without changing the music. In fact, in high school we were required to. I was in choir and we went to competitions, we weren't allowed to change a single thing. That's because the ultimate goal was to preform the piece and capture the song, and convey it the way the composer intended, without having to alter the piece. That's true musicianship in my eyes.
