- An extended conversation with New Hampshire’s Dan Larson whose successful UA-cam channel “Secret Galaxy” features short documentaries about pop culture.
The secret is Dan's radio voice and the sharp writing. 😉
and how much they slip in jason vorhees lol did you see the blip from IX in a recent one
And the dope content.
Yes, Toy Galaxy is now Secret Galaxy but!….
Is it Canon?
I heard this comment
Maybe it's in the *clap clap* MULTIVERSE.
*thunderbolts strike @@SpekkioMofW
No, because this is Dan Larson the actor saying it, not Dan Larson the UA-cam host. 😂
Yes yes it is 😁
Dude has a natural style for presenting. His intonation and prosody works so well together.
Easily one of, if not, THE best.
Keeps it engaging, visually enjoyable, and genuinely good team.
Been watching this show for years now. Big congrats to Dan and the crew for all the recognition yall are getting now! Well deserved.
As an author/illustrator inspired by the cartoons/movies/action figures of the 80s, I love how Secret Galaxy shows in-depth looks at all these intellectual properties, how they began, and how they changed over time.
Dan is the greatest. I've been watching his show forEVER.
It's been great, watching Toy Galaxy grow!
One of the best UA-cam channels for old nerds like myself. And I say this with much love.
I absolutely LOVE this channel! I hope more people continue to discover it.
I discovered Dan's channel about two years back. I believe I was watched "The History Of M.A.S.K.". Secret Galaxy is one of my favorite UA-cam channels. Larson is just right on point with the movie, toy and cartoon nostalgia. He delivers it all in an informative, humorous and fun way. UA-cam is over saturated by so much negative criticism. It is a virtual breeding ground for toxic fans. Secret Galaxy is the polar opposite. Everything is done in good taste. Dan and those behind Secret Galaxy should be an example to everyone else on social media. Keep it light and keep it fun.
So well said! I'm a huge fan too, nostalgic without being sappy, and informative without playing up novelty.
Agreed!
I HOPE SG KEEPS DOING WHAT THEY'RE DOING!!!!
Love his channel! It’s really cool to see some of the classic commercials he plays in the videos on the channel.
When I discovered their channel I spent a week consuming all the back catalogue. Now it's one of my YT subscription channels that I watch as soon as a new video is out.
I've loved Toy Galaxy for years. I'm not so into the current format - I got on board when they were doing a lot more reviews rather than the longform videos focussing on a single property they seem to specialise in now - but Dan is such a warm, wholesome presence that even when the subject matter isn't of interest to me I'll sometimes still watch the episode just to spend 10 minutes in his company.
Def one of my favorite channels in this genre.
Big fan of Dan Larson, Toy Galaxy, and now Secret Galaxy. So happy he got this interview. I only wish the editing was better. The music is too loud, and the audio on Dan is too low. I have to turn up the voice full blast to hear Dan over the music.
Met Dan at nytf pre lockdown. Been watching for years. Amazing journey
Good interview. Just a quick audio note - Dan's voice is coming out of the left channel only, and the music is coming out of the right one only.
it's an illustration, if you will, of dino media's death while interviewing the internet for last its shreds of cred
This is so cool! I fell in love with this channel from the first video I stumbled upon. (The Garbage Pail Kids episode). Being a major collector, and terminal delver, i just loved how thorough, detailed and funny the presentation was. I also have collected 80's toys for 20 years, albiet, moreso the girls toys. I found myself watching every new episode because I share the same passion for the era even if its not necessarily something i personally collected.
I love seeing this channel getting bigger ! And its no wonder I relate to the 'nerdy' enthusiasm because Dan is so personally involved with the subject matter. Not like some whos whole approach is " hey, remember this weid thing"?
AWESOME to get an inside peek at such a great content creator, I really enjoyed this interview!
Dan is amazing. I started watching the toys but stayed for the in-depth reporting on nostalgic material. I found his secret galaxy material fascinating.
Love their channel always look forward to their videos
God I had no idea they were from New Hampshire! Love what they do!
Pretty kewl to see him get this big
Yeah, it's pretty rad.
great channel that revisits some of the best memories.
Top notch channel from Dan and Greg that nails it with sharp writing and top notch production value.
Love this show.
Every Thursday I get my 80s nostalga fix, thanks to Toy Galaxy (I still call it that... Lol). It's a great channel with great retro vibes and clever writing. Thanks for the cool behind the scenes look. 😊 #gen_x
Congratulations Dan and Greg! Let's keep the channel growing.
Secret Galaxy (nee Toy Galaxy) has been a joy to watch, so many memories. And I even learn some things.
LOVE THIS GUY!!
Thank you for your Macross and Transformers: Car Robots coverage!
My girlfriend and I watch all their videos and love them.
Nice job, Dan
Love this YT channel!
That Boba Fett is the one I've had since I was little. Very cool!
Secret galaxy truly is one of the best youtube channels
Dan is not too old for social media. All the best UA-camrs who review 80's stuff are 35+.
Dan is the Man!
Great UA-cam channel!
love that guy !
I've loved their content when I first came across it. I've been subscribed to them, and the nostalgia trips always entertains me.
Another gem outta NH ❤ Not to brag but we're so awesome.
Haha you are! Two other channels I watch are out of NH:
Rich Rebuilds
Undecided with Matt Ferrell
Secret Galaxy is the best!
Yes. Dan is a 10 out of 10 presenter.

Dan's the man

No!
@@Denis-tf8flBut was it ... _beans_ canon?
Dan, I want to see your art!
Nice, Secret Galaxy is a fun channel 😎
I love Dan and Secret Galaxy, formerly Toy Galaxy
CBS boston needs to step up it's UA-cam game. Not even a link to Dan's channel.
lol hey to my sg geeks
I think the best or most fun episode was "The History of Pole Position". 🤣
Love the untelated Chuck E Cheeze stock reel. The video is 8 minutes. Lol.
Nobody asked him if he's really Xander Harris transported over to our dimension in the multiverse.
Do something you love, and you’ll never work again.
Galaxy Animation
How come you don't talk about your time at the steeplegate mall?
So wait, he's not from Duluth?
But is it canon??
Hey! He CAN speak like a normal human being and not a UA-cam trope!
Whoever did the audio mix for this interview should be fired
Why is the sound so awful on this....great to see dan though
This guy was a huge customer at my work the gay bdsm store.
boomers have no idea that UA-cam is a thousand times bigger than any TV station. People under 40 do not even watch TV, they watch UA-cam.
Ok? Not sure why you're attacking old people for.
But you'll see quite a number of older folks in the comment sections
Zoomers have no idea Gen Xers are not boomers. Latter-day Gen Xers/Xillennials made the internet what it is today and don't need to have its impact explained to them.
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e Kids today think the children of boomers are boomers, it's wild that the term no longer has any meaning
@@BonusEggs4Sale Exactly. I'm a younger millennial who has a parent that's a boomer. Lol
