Thanks for being on this! I saw this kit promotion at a Home Depot store yesterday, found they had three kits stored up high, and bought one. I agree with everything you say, and loved using the hammer drill on concrete today to drill holes for a threshold. It’s an amazing deal for what you get. The deal isn’t yet in the app, and online it says sold out everywhere, meaning they haven’t even rolled it out on their website yet.
I'm a milwaukee and craftsman fan but that kit is really cool. I can definitely see where I could use them on the job sight. I'll be looking for them for sure.
Alright! Dave showing ‘Teal‘ some Love! 😁😃☺️ I was so excited to see this Vid pop up in my Notifications. Although I believe this is an upgrade to the XPH 12 drill, not the 07? This is the newer compact hammer drill. The XPH 12 drill was a good design, but poor execution. Gears were a bit wonky, and the speed controller on the brushless motor would act up. Not to mention it would wind up real fast at 2000 rpm in high gear, but big down once under load. The XPH 12 would never do the first auger in high gear, like this new model would. I’m not surprised or disappointed the new one wouldn’t do the second auger. Not a lot of drills will. Dave, Love ya Cuz, but please please, just tighten the chuck fully, and then just leave it, K 🙏👍😁✌🏻🇺🇸👍👍👍. Stay safe and Healthy! Oh, I am surprised at Makita ‘cost cutting’ by not wrapping the tools in plastic, like they used to? Competition must be getting tough 🤷🏻♂️🙄😂
The xtd16 is my favorite impact also. I’d like to see a test against Milwaukee m18 fuel hammer drill against the new makita. I’ve been debating on getting the Milwaukee but now that makita came out with a new one I’d like to see how it compares to Milwaukee’s.
The Makita xdt16t is awesome, ergonomics and how smooth it is are outstanding. The Milwaukee m18 hammetdrill is lighter and is more powerful I believe compared to this new Makita hammer drill.
If you use a impact driver more I recommend the Milwaukee because personally it’s my favorite impact out there and it has the power to do just about whatever your want and only Milwaukee haters say they don’t like the way it feels, if you like drill guns more get a makita or Hilti they are my personal favorite drills makita has a better impact than hilti but hilti get a better drill so it’s your choice really For me it’s Milwaukee because I love impacts and use them as much as I can
This new Makita XPH14 has 1,200 inlbs. of torque and the older bigger XPH07 only has 1,020 inlbs. of torque , so it should be a good amount more powerful , even though it didn't look it in your testing.... I'd love to see it go against the M18 Fuel hammer drill and the Dewalt Power Detect hammer drill ....👍
I think the predecessor to this hammer drill is the xph12. The xph07 is newer. Either way, glad to finally see the xdt16 in a kit. Im gonna love seeing how it holds up in time.
Tim from Canada and the prices in the USA are always going to be cheaper than they are in Canada or around the world.. The Canadian prices on tools are overpriced for what you were paying for... The cheap crappy Ryobi tool thinks it is a pro tool because the Ryobi tool is now at a pro level price same price as Milwaukee Dewalt but Ryobi tool with what I have worked with our crap.... The Ryobi tool is the handyman tool with a pro tool price... this is my recommendation for Ryobi if you are the company that are trying to get into a pro tool market then start making your equipment pro tool ready but for now the Ryobi market is not ready for the pro tool. Experience they are pushing for.. thank you very much everyone have a great day
I’m Milwaukee all the way but when I use their gen 3 impact driver I am always hesitant to fully depress the trigger when on mode 3. So powerful it wants to break stuff. Malita is usually a pretty decent choice and you know your probably getting a good tool
Awseome deal that dave 2 free batteries Liking the new drill dave and the xdt16 thats a brilliant impact 😁 im waiting on getting a dtw300 or dtw700 wrench tho instead for garage jobs and garden stuff 😁👌👍
I got an dewalt flex volt advantage hammer drill and impact driver but I was going to buy Milwaukee m18 Gen 3 but I changed my mind cause I really wanted to try flex volt they bouth are 399.99 and so as makita I’ll open the box this Saturday and check it out know ryobi , craftsman, kobalt, rigid, hilti, metabo are 149.99- 349.99 but makita and Milwaukee and DeWalt are the most good but I’d rather go for all of them cause each tool is good by different carriers so that’s why I keep all of them mostly except metabo, kobalt
Love the channel sir! Where was that home depot you made a vid at a few days ago? With the m12 2pk 3.o batteries for $79. My HD doesn't have that deal... thanks!!
Patiently waiting on the KOBALT XTR impact and it's cool how Makita doesn't need a special type of battery to make their tools run faster cause I've been thinking if Makita did use 21700 cells would they possible be able beat Milwaukee and DeWalt in impacts and drills
Enjoy your videos, but the 40 volt hammer drill HP001G ( not yet available in the US ) is the new replacement of the XPH07. The XPH14 is the new replacement of the XPH12 hammer drill, borrowing some of the XPH07 design.
Wera make the best bits, they are expensive though. I want you to see whether this has a mechanical chuck or an electronic chuck, try driving some screws on the wrong torque setting and see whether it makes the horrible clunking or whether it silently stops trying to drive the screw. Also i want a test comparing the led brightness to the old model. Also try drilling a 6mm hole in a thinner concrete block or brick and compare the speed with milwaukee's high-end drill. That concrete block isn't a great test as some chucks are deeper so they don't always drill down the same depth which is why a thinner block that the drill can fully drill through is better for accurate tests.
As far as power I am sure it is equal or better than the previous version as Milwaukee did with the gen 3 fuel it is way more compact than the gen 2 but has a lot more power !
@mancavertools I tried to search for the XT288T and the XPH14. I found it at toolnut but they had none for sale. No one else had it listed. Toolnut listed it at $409 with no accessory bits included and no second set of batteries. So where did you get the tool from? You did not mention where it was bought from. I am assuming Makita sent it to you and you didn’t mention it. Please explain.
Home Depot is running the deal in-store only for now, so you'll have to call or make a trip to your local store to see if they have it in stock. The website doesn't even have a listing for it yet. My store had it tucked away on a back endcap near lumber and not near the other power tools.

Thanks for the video. New Makita is nice, but in the video it doesn't seem to have enough poop to justify the price (about $150+ tool only). Dewalt 999 seems better, especially when you get it for about $90 during HD promo ($179 buy the tool and get Flexvolt battery included for free). Saw this Makita Promo at HD store today. Being that it's three individual items (SKU) for the promo in store (not online), perhaps the HD Makita promo can be hacked in store. If so it might make the new Makita Combo kit a better buy. It would be nice to see a teardown of this new Makita Hammer Drill and see if it still has what some consider a rear plastic housing/bearing mount design deficiency and using only two screws. The Makita Impact Driver is nice !
Also, the Makita Battery CHARGER DC18RC can charge ANY Makita battery from 7.2v-18v, AND also the Ni-MH batteries, 7.2v-18v, too! Or at least my older DC18RC can! I guess the newer DC18RC chargers CANNOT?!?
When are you gonna try the non compact hp hammer drill and 4 mode non compact impact driver I just bought it for 229.00 with a new 4ah and a new 2ah batt and charger that thing is a beast way better than my compact hp impact driver. You broke out of the tool line that started you and forgot about ryobi. Ryobi nation you forgot about us

Right NOW, Home Depot has the Makita XDT14Z for $105 PLUS a free 2Ah Battery! You can do the hack, by returning the 2Ah battery and end up paying only $56 for the XDT14 driver! The XDT16 ONLY has 50 in. lbs. more of torque, with all the other numbers the same as the XDT14, except the XDT16 costs $195 with NO free battery (tool only)! No-brainer to go buy the XDT14Z NOW, while it’s still on sale and they still have 2Ah batteries in stock!
I returned the predecessor to this Makita because it was so slow drilling into brick compared to my 22v Hilti SDS Plus drill. The weight saving wasn’t worth it.
If it makes you feel any better, the new 18v Impact Driver is about to hit the market in Japan (and will probably arrive well before XGT here...if we ever see it). The difference between the XGT drills and the XPH14 is that the electronic clutch is missing. The torque is exactly the same.
Makita is my favorite brand of power tools. I don’t own any other brand of tool besides Makita, I’ve used Makita all my life and I always will

Whoa! Home Depot’s XDT14Z $105 sale ended 10 minutes after I posted it on here! It’s NOW $139 with a free 2Ah battery!
what's the link to get the extra 2 batteries?
there isnt a link for that deal :( I am sorry thetilo
Where did you get it from? I want that deal?
got Hom Depot
Right NOW, Home Depot has the Makita XDT14Z for $105 PLUS a free 2Ah Battery! You can do the hack, by returning the 2Ah battery and end up paying only $56 for the XDT14 driver! The XDT16 ONLY has 50 in. lbs. more of torque, with all the other numbers the same as the XDT14, except the XDT16 costs $195 with NO free battery (tool only)! No-brainer to go buy the XDT14Z NOW, while it’s still on sale and they still have 2Ah batteries in stock!
Are they still doing this kit deal?
I think so,
where did you get that kit?
Home Depot

#Only Makita ®👍
yes sir
I returned the predecessor to this Makita because it was so slow drilling into brick compared to my 22v Hilti SDS Plus drill. The weight saving wasn’t worth it.
I gotcha, but I do thank you for viewing Martin
look like HP001G 40v
I cant wait to get the 40v tools
40v version loks better and have this electronic for screws
I cant wait for the 40v tools
Like!
I thank you Aleksey
I swear if I buy this drill driver and they release they’re 40V soon after I’m gonna be pisssssssed!
that is exactly what will happen lol. I still want that 40v though
If it makes you feel any better, the new 18v Impact Driver is about to hit the market in Japan (and will probably arrive well before XGT here...if we ever see it). The difference between the XGT drills and the XPH14 is that the electronic clutch is missing. The torque is exactly the same.
