*FAQ* *1. Why don't you use Adept Glyph? It looks straightforward and should be the best glyph to improve Ball Lightning's damage?* Adept is great for early/mid game when our additive damage are low. For a max level Adept, we can get 138.6% additive damage from 70 Intelligence. But the biggest issue is that it doesn't provide any multiplicative damage bonus or Damage Reduction. The increased range is nice but not useful to improve damage to Elites or Bosses. T100 Non Elites is oneshot anyways. For endgame damage comparison, I got 1380% additive damage at level 95 without the last glyph yet. If I take Adept as the last one, I got 1380%+138.6%=1518.6% If I take Flamefeeder for example, and it is a 49 dexterity board, I got 97% damage and a 1.1 multiplier then I got (1380%+97%)*1.1=1624.7%>1518.6% Every offensive glyph I use have at least a 1.1 multiplier. If your gear are perfect that you don't find any issue surviving in T100 then Adept is definitely better than Reinforced to replace with from a damage stand point. Personally I choose Reinforced and Territorial so that I can farm T100 without perfect gear and without worrying about survivability too much. *2. I got Godslayer Crown/Shako/Raiment/Tibault/Oculus/Lycander. How can I use them in this build?* First congrats on the amazing Drop! The defensive Aspect losing order I recommend is Snowveiled -> Everliving -> Disobedience. Disobedience is the best defensive aspect that I recommend to replace last. If you do get to that point as you have 3 offensive uniques at defensive spots(Helm + Chest Armor + Pants), I recommend replacing Conceited with Disobedience at Amulet for further survivability as we should have more than enough damage now. To better use Oculus, get an offhand with Accelerating Aspect and replace Dominance Vampiric Power with Metamorphosis to remove the random teleport effect is great. To use Lycander, since Lycander got Attack Speed, it is good to lose the Accelerating Aspect as long as you have level 3 Ravenous. Otherwise replace Storm Swell with Accelerating. *3. I tried your build but can't seem to replicate the experience in your video. Why?* Although my character level is not high, my gear pieces item power/stats are pretty good. I have a full 925 Item Power weapon with 4 great stats. My gloves have almost full crit chance and my Rings have full 4 Damage stats that are close to the upper bound values. I spent a good amount of time checking each dropped piece and got really lucky to get that weapon from Varshan early. I recommend farming Varshan to get full 925 item power gear pieces for upgrading. My paragon Glyph got pretty high levels too. This is because I mainly spent my time in NM dungeons. I have 2 level 21 Glyphs + 3 level 15 Glyphs at level 94. That is more than *DOUBLING* the damage vs 5 level 1 Glyphs. Upgrading Glyph one level by one level may not seem to achieve a lot of damage boost but 6 fully upgraded Glyphs vs 6 level 1 Glyphs is at least 3X difference that I highly recommend to spend time in NM dungeons if you are targeting to farm T100. *4. Why do you use Accelerating Aspect? I don't see any Core Skill from your Skill Bar.* We use Chain Lightning in Enchantment. It is a Core Skill and will be casted after spending 100 mana. *5. How do you apply Vulnerable at all?* As mentioned at 3:47, Chain Lightning casted from Enchantment is always powered by that Vulnerable Applying. It is already enough to apply 100% Vulnerable uptime for all monsters since we cast Ball Lightnings non-stop. Although the text says "After Spending 100 mana a Chain Lightning forms" not "Casts", it is still treated as a cast. It is easy to be confirmed as we can see that monsters are with the purple vulnerable states on their health bar. The requirement is to aim monsters while casting Ball Lightnings when you are on Keyboard & Mouse. It should be auto-aimed on Controller that you don't need to do anything extra. You can check all play through across the video if you are skeptical about it. *6. Why do you choose a two-handed weapon over a wand/dagger + offhand?* First of all, two-handed and dagger + offhand are both viable options. The more important thing is the item power of the weapon. It is always better if you use a higher item power weapon with good stats, two handed/one handed is less important. On top of that two handed is slightly preferred because, Aspects on two-handed weapon have 200% effect. For example, accelerating is 15%-25% normally, but on a two-handed weapon, it is 30%-50%. Accelerating Aspect is the biggest damage amplifier in the build as Ball Lightning gets 200% benefit so if we double it to 50%, we get even more. Also two-handed weapon stats have doubled range stats vs a wand /dagger. For example, Critical Damage stat is 21%-31.5% on a dagger but 42%-63% on a two-handed weapon. This means we get double damage stats which would be much higher than a dagger + offhand as offhand only have support stats except crit chance. In short, two handed weapon is higher damage in general and a wand/dagger + offhand is lower Cooldown. This build benefits more from two handed weapons as we mainly want to double Accelerating Aspect benefit. *7. Can you share the build where you killed Uber Lilith at level 86?* There are two Uber Lilith kills in the video 1. The one at 0:07 where I killed her at level 86. The skill tree(8:41)/paragon board(10:26) are all the same as in this video. All my gear pieces are at ua-cam.com/video/B8cMK1vQyeM/v-deo.html. I took a 15% Crit Chance Elixir. At that point my two Rings got +Maximum Life instead of crit chance which is not ideal for Uber Lilith. I had those only to challenge T100. So if you got 2 +6%-7.5% Crit Chance Rings, it will be even better. 2. The one at 13:40 where I killed her at level 94. The gear pieces(9:40)/skill tree(8:41)/paragon board(10:26) are all the same as in this video. The most important thing about the Lilith Fight is to improve damage. If we got enough damage, we won't need to rely on defense as we can skip all her attacks and mechanics. We do need to tank 2 sweep attack at the beginning of the fight but that should be fairly simple as long as we are level 100, got 7000 armor and disobedience aspect. To test if you have enough damage to skip all her mechanics, you can go to the Training Ground in Kyovashad, pick the boss training dummy, and check if you can bring the health bar to 0 in 7s. If yes, taking an Elixir or 15% Crit Chance(Dropped in Helltide Chests) or Heavy Precision Elixir of 6% Crit Chance + 30% Crit Damage(can be crafted) will get you the damage needed and avoid any Uber Lilith mechanics. If no, I recommend leveling up your glyphs and farm for better weapon item power + damage stats from gear. For the specific Lilith fight, I recommend to take the following 4 notes in mind 1. Cast Ultimate once you can damage her in phase 1, so that you can cast ultimate again in Phase 2. Getting 2 Cooldown Reduction stats guarantee you cast 2 Ults, one in Phase 1 and one in Phase 2. Once she summons 3 minions after landing in the center, try to move around to defeat the 3 minions quickly. So that when she takes off and land again, you can kill her at the spot and move to phase 2. Otherwise you will need to do some mechanics as she is Invulnerable if her minions are not dead. Flame shield can save you one mechanics and if you do have enough damage, flame shield enchant can save you 2 that go killing the 3 minions quickly. 3. Cast Ultimate and pre cast 2(don't cast 3 as you will run out of mana) Ball Lightnings when you are in the 2nd phase before she can take damage. In this way we can deal more damage so that she will fly to the sky without summoning the 4 blood puddles. And we can skip all her phase 2 mechanics. 4. Try to continuously damage her(even her health bar is 0) and stagger her in Phase 2 while she is destroying platforms. There seems to be a bug that if she is not staggered, she can't be killed at the last platform without she doing 2 mechanics. That happened a few times. Staying on the platform to damage her for 2s is enough. Staying longer will put us at risk of dying because of the dropping platform. A good thing is that I tried and was successful 6/6 times with the above 4 notes in mind. Hope this helps and good luck!
You can aply vulnerable w/one of the powers Is a 44 lky hitchance, the unique pants that give you xdamage and recoger 50 mana helps a lot and you can use another aspect un the ring im using the unique ring that makes an explosion Wen the enemi Is taking dot dmg the ring gives 40+all stats that helps a lot and w the burn enchantment Is viable

Dude! Amazing breakdown of this build! Absolutely perfect. I changed my build last night and ruined my sorc, but this looks very close to my old build and even tankier. I’m excited to try it out
Wow you really are a genius. You really do understand the mechanics of this build and optimize it wisely. My Vampiric powers are almost the same as yours except for your new Call Familiar which does tons of physical damage. I made a few small changes to your last build and now I see you also doing the same for some obvious reasons. But you happen to think much deeper and further as well. I love your build - Thanks James it is so fun to play with. One aspect I did not follow is the Storm Swell, instead I used Elementalist which I think is better to boost my Critical Strike Chance. I have 34.7 % cdr. I was like 8K attack dmg but manage to rev it up to 9.6K like adding Strength when my build is low on it. Every bit helps. Keep up the fantastic job bro.
Elementalist Aspect will be a great optimization further to the build if you can keep your mana always over 100. If you check my video, I kind of only maintain that ~20-40% time. There are ways to achieve high mana regeneration to improve the "over 100 mana" uptime with a good combination of mana stats and some sacrifices of damage stats that is usually only viable at very very endgame. It is almost impossible for casual players to get them. My alternative is to use Esu's Heirloom + Evade to boost our Crit Chance to 75% that we don't need Elementalist while using straight forward damage stats. And Storm Swell is another straight forward 30% x damage boost.
If I use Esu's Heirloom my movement speed combined is 120% So 30% of the 120% movement speed or just 30% of the increase of 20%? My current Critical Strike Chance is 34.7% So adding Esu's will increase it by how much?@@ayajamesaya
Yes! Oculus will be great. I recommend using an Accelerating Aspect on offhand and replace Domination Vampiric Power with Metamorphosis if you use an Oculus. The random teleport gets replaced with direct teleport from Metamorphosis.
Thank you for the video and the insight in to the way to minmax this build further. I find your videos help me with looking at gear better and understanding diffrent sorc aspects that can play in to improving the game play for my self.
I have been using this build and it works brilliantly. I am using dagger and a focus with control aspect. I have had no luck getting a staff to drop with useful affixes.
you can skip recharging aspect if you already have two stat to proc gain primary resource from glove and offhand, plus at least two stat +Resource Generation.
Mind explaining a little more how the ESU'S HEIRLOOM work? 30% of the movement speed bonus, stock we have 100%, let say we go for boots and neck movement speed, you reach around 150%, so assuming the bonus is what we have above 100%, it would be 50%, and according to the ESU power would be 30% of that, so it would be 15% critical chance on this scenario? or please explain how it works.
Correct, it is 15% crit chance if you have two movement stats summing up to 50% and you have a perfect 30% Esu's Heirloom. 15% Constant Crit Chance is a pretty big damage buff.
static surge says casting chain lightning. the enchantment is not a cast actually (only forms a chain lightning) so the node not applies the effect on it.
Hey guy, I have a question for you but first, I want to say I love your builds. I have to do the capstone 100 to fight Lillith but if I do it solo and beat her and then my friend needs help beating her am I able to join him knowing that I already beat her or not?
Hi man and thank you! Yes you can do as many Uber Lilith fights as you want, with friends or without, even after beating her. Just there is no reward anymore but you can always carry your friends.
I like how you utilize burning dmg for this build … I got a near prime oculus so I wanted to try it with Tibault’s will and metamorphosis with raiment chest and/or godslayer helmet for ball lightning, not sure if it’s worth considering or not … uniques are just way easier to gear up this season …
I think it depends how you want to play. This bill is very popular right now and a lot of people are doing different stuff. I originally did go with burning like I did last season. But I found it not to be worth it because I would have to attack targets near me to put burning damage on them but by the time I'm attacking them they're almost dead so that damage reduction almost was not worth it. Then for the damage increase I don't really know if we need more damage. Yes it would be nice for bosses but the way that the game is right now everything is super easy so it kind of defeats the purpose for this season.
@@pookie3271995 I dont use burning in this build either. I use the teleport enchantment to improve mobility, for now its worth more than being able to kill bossos 5 seconds faster :)
What's your plan with the new ring? I just swapped out lightning spear for ice blades to get the extra stack? I saw there's a vampirism power u can swap in as well that gives a stack via poison. I haven't made that switch yet. Waiting to see what you think. The burning damage you already had in your build works even better too.
I am making a new video on what to expect for the new ring. The TLDR is that it is nice to have but not a game changer. It will be out later this week before weekend.
Hi! I made a build at d4builds.gg/builds/f8a1e4fa-8aa4-422f-8838-5dc1935114a6/. Please check the "Notes" tab for ideas behind every change. As getting the ring and doing the testing took me a long time, I won't be able to post a video this week. I will put together one mid next week :)
Two Q: 1. saw there are two points in lucky hit, does this build use lucky hit anywhere? 2. How did the this build get 500+ dex and 400+ willpower, any requirement?
Lucky hit is used by 1. Convulsions, the passive to stun monsters through shock skills. 2. Ravenous, 40+% Attack Speed. 3. I have a +X% to Apply Slow to Enemy on gloves that is used to help survivability and staggering bosses which benefits from Lucky Hit too. And yup for 2, it is from the weapon. Intelligence stat will be even better than all stats. Those paragon nodes bonus from 500+ dex are just nice to have. The ones of 400+ dex and 300+ will power are important.
@@ayajamesaya 400+ willpower one is also hard for me to get.. need to work on altar lilith... I also found that the Aspect of the Umbral seems to work smoother for me than the chain lighting one as there is a consistent source for stun + slow from this build. There is one tiny issue I found with this build: after jumping into mobs without a lot of ball lightning around, there is a cold start problem: somehow I feel at that moment, mobs have a slightly greater chance to hit/ one-shot me. feel maybe having some hard cc would be helpful, like the unique chest.
I recommend using two-handed weapon. Aspects on two-handed weapon have 200% effect. For example, accelerating is 15%-25% normally, but on a two-handed weapon, it is 30%-50%. Accelerating Aspect is the biggest damage amplifier in the build as Ball Lightning gets 200% benefit so if we double it to 50%, we get even more. In short, two handed weapon is higher damage in general and a wand/dagger + offhand is lower Cooldown. This build benefits more from two handed weapons as we mainly want to boost Ball Lightning's damage from doubling the Accelerating Aspect benefit.
Hi James, thanks for the build, I m having great time playing it. Paragon board and gear stats same as you raccomanded. At lvl 100 and with +armor on helm, chest and pants, still having issues with armor value, thus implies I die often and I do not manage Uber Lilith yet. Armor gets just at about 7k with 925 gear... What could be the problem? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
There are two things, T100 and Uber Lilith For T100 we want high armor and 70% all resistance. Correct me if I am wrong that I feel you probably use resistance gems on Rings and Amulet to get the 70% all resistance. If you use 3 Skulls, you likely will hit 8k5 armor. I can think of two options 1. Try to use less offensive stats on helm/chest armor/pants(CDR, Max Mana, CC Duration/Shock Skill damage, damage/Maximum Potion) but get Resistance Stats. Combine helm & chest armor with +Poison/Fire/Shadow Resistance will be great. In this way you can use 3 Skulls on Rings and Amulet to improve armor greatly. 2. Use Disobedience on Amulet. It equals getting 1.5 extra % armor stats and is extremely helpful in building tankiness. You can use an offensive Unique(Godslayer Crown/Shako/Raiment/Tibault) to replace where the Disobedience used to be. For Uber Lilith We only need to build damage and defense is not so important. Please check the Q7 in the pinned comment for more details on Uber Lilith fight optimization.
You are right, I am using resist gems atm, altough Disobedience was already on my amulet. Still don t have the Tibault ufortunately. I have Godslayer and Rainment but not using them in order to get more defensive gear. I manage Ndungeon T93. Will use you advices better. Many thanks for your time, I really appreciated your answer.
Hi, thanks for your great video! I have a question for you. I am currently on my project of killing uber lilith on hc the very first time. I obviously play a ball lightning sorc now and I am level 85 right now. My goal is to reach lvl 100 with full 21 glyphs before trying to kill her since I am worried of dying. On top of that I would really like to include some failsafes into the build, which would be the protecting aspect for the bubble and the flame shield enchantment. Could you recommend a build for me that would work with that setup? Or do you think that is overkill? Thank you very much!
Hi! You can see from the video 0:20 that I take down a T100 Boss at around 10s. I used the same setup and showed Uber Lilith fight at the end of the video which I don't need to do any mechanics and don't need any defense. One simple way to see if you can do the same is to test against a T100 boss and check whether you can take it down under 15s. If you can't take down T100 Bosses in 15s, I recommend to level up your glyphs and farm for better weapon item power + damage stats from gear. The bubble aspect is not going to be useful as you will still get oneshot by the mechanics. The bubble is triggered when your health drops below 70% and get a hit, but almost 95% of time, we are at 100% health and got oneshot by the waves that the bubble is not triggered. Flame Shield Enchant is good but you will lose damage if you replace firebolt or, mana and damage(vulnerable from CL) if you replace chain lightning. But if your damage is good enough, replacing Firebolt with Flame Shield is viable. So I'd recommend to build your damage instead and test against T100 bosses to go for Uber Lilith. For the specific Lilith fight, I recommend to take the following 4 notes in mind 1. Cast Ultimate once you can damage her in phase 1, so that you can cast ultimate again in Phase 2. Getting 2 Cooldown Reduction stats guarantee you cast 2 Ults, one in Phase 1 and one in Phase 2. 2. I asked the same question. Lighting ball is so broken that actually you can do level 100 NDs with only that single skill! My 1 click lighting ball build :) No vampire skills, no season. ua-cam.com/video/s82_KJ2171s/v-deo.htmlsi=B-UJGgMd0Tkyy3za
wouw finaly someone that speaks the truth about BL, and that it is not bugged right now, but they actually fixed it. and just flat increased the damage alot. You have any official links on the max of 10 ticks per second claim?
No official links but people have tested it and confirmed this consensus. Blizzard may remove(fix) this upper bound in the future since other skills don't have it. If it happens, we probably will know that from patch notes.
The damage multiplier from Charged Glyph is good but it doesn't improve damage stats, like close/vulnerable/burning. It will be less damage in the endgame. Crackling energy damage is neglectable.
@@ayajamesaya thanks, makes sense. The others are more to the core of the build. It's nice to have Charged, it just doesn't hold as much weight...got it!
Hi can you let me know if Movement speed affects your attack speed? If I max my attack speed to the required 100% should i focus on more movement speed also ?
Movement Speed does improve our Attack Speed as we use the Ravenous Vampiric Power. I still recommend to get more movement speed because 1. We use Esu's Heirloom. More movement speed means more Crit Chance. 2. Attack Speed exceeds 100% still contributes to more Ball Lightning casts. It is very useful in improving our DPS.
You have probably tested it but just wanna make sure if accelerating works on chain lightning “enchantment”? or does accelerating works only if you use cast chain lightning as part of your skill rotation?
This one deals 2-3x damage of the S2 Thor Lightning + Gravitational but it is only more fun if you are comfortable with pure Melee Combat Style and have good gear to survive in high NM tiers. I recommend giving this build a try first. If you don't like the survivability, switch to the Thor Lightning until you have good defensive stats.
Hi James, I use the previous Chain Lightning based build since lvl50, and just switched to this one on lvl85. Both of them are really enjoyable, thank you for sharing them! One thing I don't get is that how could I get such short cooldown on the Ultimate skill. Seemingly I follow every aspect/skill tree/gear stats, but still compared your ~10 seconds cooldown, mine is still count down from around ~48 seconds. Obviously I see some improvement due to Overflowing Energy, but still it doesn't seem to work like for you. Initially I thought my gear is the culprit, but I don`t see significant change since the beginning. Thanks to Anticipation, I could see a reduction from 70 to 56 seconds, and after I equipped Cooldown Reduction Helm + Amulet, it further improved to about ~48 seconds. But still, it is far from instant usage. Do you have any ideas what could went wrong? Thank You and keep up the good work. :)
Hi! Thank you for trying the builds and it is a really good question. In my experience it is ~48s CD Ultimate on the skill bar too as I have 2 CDR stats. What I do extra is to keep moving forward to engage with a large group of monsters and try to avoid just fighting less than 2 monsters unless they are Elites. Since we use the Overflowing Energy key passive, the crackling energy hit would reduce its CD by roughly 0.5s every second(3*a mix of non elites(0.1s) and elites(0.25s)). Since we have 10s of Ultimate where the Crackling Energy hit 25% faster, so 0.5s * 1.25 = 0.625s, meaning that every second in real life is 1.625s CDR in game. So 48s CD is 10+(48-10*1.625)/1.5 = 31.67s CD in real life. Then Ult is 10s up and 21.67s in CD. That is likely why you noticed there is only ~20s in between two active Ults in my video.
For PVP I think it is better to use Flame Shield enchant over Firebolt Enchant. 3 Points in potent warding in this build only make lightning resistance from 70% to 73%. It is not a super helpful investment in my opinion.
Do you recommend this for lvl 67Sorc? I’m using another ball lightening build but it’s just okay, I feel like it’s very powerful but right now survival on the Main bosses is tough on tier 4. Thanks
Thank you, single I didn’t notice that. So I lvld to 70, collecting the needed gear and aspects to Make the required changes. I did change one aspect for now to help me with mana. Using the Aspect of Concentration instead of the Recharging Aspect. Also I’ve got a Raiment of the infinite right now and got crazy lucky and got a Shako on my first Duriel hill at lvl 74. Thank you for the build, couldn’t have done it without!
Thank you for the explanation. Now I see the reason why you prefer other glyphs. I didn't mean to be picky - I tend to use your builds anyway among dozen other versions. Just wanted to know why not Adept since it looked like the best choice on the first sight. Now I know :)
Yes it is great for the build. The defensive aspect losing order I recommend is the Snowveiled->Everliving->Disobedience. If you do have all three offensive uniques at defensive spots(Helm, Chest Armor, Pants), the damage should be more than enough that I recommend replacing the Conceit on Amulet with Disobedience to improve our survivability.
Hey James - I went to do the Glacial Fissure Ancestral Tier 31 and guess what I got - The Occulus - 9x Teleport but only one Maximum evade charge. Still ok I guess lol. Remember I told you 25% chance to get it there. It's true. Just got it.
You know what the chance to get at Duriel is? I know he has a larger pool of unique drops, but I was wondering if his chance to drop was still higher than Beast
I don't get using Prey on the Weak unless you're just using it for extra damage on mobs made vulnerable by chain lightning. Wouldn't it be better to swap out the bats for Accursed Touch or Metamorphosis to make everything cursed and vulnerable?
With chain lightnig enchant and the paragon node your making everything vuln anyway. Plus teleport enchant is nice for constant barrier gen and damage increase as an alternative for speed farming
Accursed Touch is not good against Bosses. Since Ball Lightning's damage is too high, 16% multiplicative damage is actually much better than Accused Tough AOE.
It is less level dependent. The most important thing is to get infinite mana that there is a section. On top of that aspects, gear stats, glyph levels play very important roles in endgame experience. Please check the Q3 in the pinned comment for more details I just updated
The chain lighting enchant which fires when he uses 100 mana and the legendary node which give vulnerable with the chain lightning. He doesnt need chain lightning on his bar as he's constantly using 100 mana while spamming ball lightning
Definitely your stats are wrong or something is wrong with the video(or maybe the build is so broken that even the allocated points doesnt register on your character)... your stats shows on Lucky Hit Chance Bonus 0 % at 4:34 , but your skill tree shows that you have 2 points allocated in to Precision Magic at 8:55, that means there should be a visible 10 % Lucky Hit Chance Bonus on your character stats... but it doesnt....how do you explain that?? I have the same skill tree on my 100 lvl character mage and i even took out all the gear and removed all paragon skills and i can see the 10% of that Lucky Hit Chance Bonus from those 2 points of Precision Magic. How is this possible?? My question is : why spend 2 points on Precision Magic when it doesnt show/work on your character and also on your 100 lvl Build link description??
I am not sure why you connect those time spots together. I was just trying to explain the mana cost reduction at 4:34. Check my Lucky Hit Chance at 9:54. I feel you probably are asking a question that is similar to the Q3 of the pinned comment. Take a look.
So annoying… broken..no it’s not broken and doesn’t need a nerf. I’m using it and it’s not broken. I’m getting really annoyed hearing click bait “broken” ffs
it is a little broken, the attack speed on it is literally crazy. The build is so fast that anything else feels terribly slow, i liked the build at first but it suffers the meta problem again in which once you have it mostly decked out it gets boring, then you get a new character to play and that feels slow. Although with the overpower changes overpower druid is kinda fun, i remember post launch bose dps was terrible but if you spec into overpower you basically 3 shot bosses.
It's broken in the sense that Blizzard never intended for mastery skills to be spammable primary core skills. The build is a lot of fun and I'm glad that Blizzard is taking the stance to not nerf it this season. It should get fixed somewhat for next season but then again we will have new mechanics then too. It's the most fun I've had in the game since launch turbo charging through content.
*FAQ*
*1. Why don't you use Adept Glyph? It looks straightforward and should be the best glyph to improve Ball Lightning's damage?*
Adept is great for early/mid game when our additive damage are low.
If I take Adept as the last one, I got 1380%+138.6%=1518.6%
If I take Flamefeeder for example, and it is a 49 dexterity board, I got 97% damage and a 1.1 multiplier
then I got (1380%+97%)*1.1=1624.7%>1518.6%
Every offensive glyph I use have at least a 1.1 multiplier.
How can I use them in this build?*
First congrats on the amazing Drop!
Why?*
Although my character level is not high, my gear pieces item power/stats are pretty good.
I don't see any Core Skill from your Skill Bar.*
We use Chain Lightning in Enchantment. It is a Core Skill and will be casted after spending 100 mana.
*5. How do you apply Vulnerable at all?*
As mentioned at 3:47, Chain Lightning casted from Enchantment is always powered by that Vulnerable Applying.
*6. Why do you choose a two-handed weapon over a wand/dagger + offhand?*
First of all, two-handed and dagger + offhand are both viable options. The more important thing is the item power of the weapon. It is always better if you use a higher item power weapon with good stats, two handed/one handed is less important.
On top of that two handed is slightly preferred because,
Aspects on two-handed weapon have 200% effect. For example, accelerating is 15%-25% normally, but on a two-handed weapon, it is 30%-50%.
Accelerating Aspect is the biggest damage amplifier in the build as Ball Lightning gets 200% benefit so if we double it to 50%, we get even more.
*7. Can you share the build where you killed Uber Lilith at level 86?*
There are two Uber Lilith kills in the video
For the specific Lilith fight, I recommend to take the following 4 notes in mind
1. Cast Ultimate once you can damage her in phase 1, so that you can cast ultimate again in Phase 2. Getting 2 Cooldown Reduction stats guarantee you cast 2 Ults, one in Phase 1 and one in Phase
Can you add a link to your Lilith killer version? 😀

I think I’ve watched all the ball lightning build videos and I rly like the way you edited in skill, talents etc. Excellent job James!
Thank you for the update and effort in calculating all the multipliers, additives, etc!
If you use the Coculus Wand, Metamorphosis will override the random aspect of the teleport, making it truly 1sec teleport in any direction you want.

Dude! Amazing breakdown of this build! Absolutely perfect. I changed my build last night and ruined my sorc, but this looks very close to my old build and even tankier. I’m excited to try it out
Thanks to this build, I was finally able to get my first Uber Lilith kill AND my first T100 Nightmare Dungeon ! Thanks aYaJames!
AMAAAAAAZING and CONGRATS!
Favorite guide so far, the only one witch which i'm not getting regularly one shotted in T100, thanks a lot for the hard work !
Yes I will look into doing that and put Storm Swell instead. Also, can we use our new found Oculus with this build? Thanks James.@@ayajamesaya
For Esu's Heirloom, it is 30% of the 20%. If you got 2 movement stats on Amulet and Boots, it can be 30% of the 25%*2 = 15% crit chance.
Thank you for the video and the insight in to the way to minmax this build further. I find your videos help me with looking at gear better and understanding diffrent sorc aspects that can play in to improving the game play for my self.
I know it’s not the best build, but could you please do a hydra build? I’ve always loved that spell and would love to see a hydra build.
Just tried it and it’s amazing , half the glyphs aren’t even level 5 and I’m easily clearing 80-90 NM
what level is your char?
100
I have been using this build and it works brilliantly. I am using dagger and a focus with control aspect. I have had no luck getting a staff to drop with useful affixes.
I just hate how if you're not farming in a group, the duriel grind is an utter boring slog.
you can skip recharging aspect if you already have two stat to proc gain primary resource from glove and offhand, plus at least two stat +Resource Generation.
Your videos are amazing, keep up the great work!!
15% Constant Crit Chance is a pretty big damage buff.
thank you, good job, very detailed guide!
Very nice and descriptive, thank you
static surge says casting chain lightning. the enchantment is not a cast actually (only forms a chain lightning) so the node not applies the effect on it.
If you try it you will know it is a cast. I got confused by the "form" word too before. D4 team need a better description for sure.

@@ayajamesaya sry, my bad. Very impressive, that you came up with that.
I’m going to try and best everything on hardcore with this. Only 56 so far but we’re cookin
I tested a bit more and found a better way to use it. It is actually pretty good :)

Two Q: 1. saw there are two points in lucky hit, does this build use lucky hit anywhere? 2. How did the this build get 500+ dex and 400+ willpower, any requirement?
answering my own Q: for Q2, it's the +70+ all stats in the weapon affix
Lucky hit is used by
Great build thanks alot
What weapon type do you use? I don't see it listed on the build planner and I didn't hear it mentioned in the video. Thanks!
This build benefits more from two handed weapons as we mainly want to boost Ball Lightning's damage from doubling the Accelerating Aspect benefit.

Blizzard needs to improve meteors build it kinda sucks. And should give sorceress a 3rd enchantment slot after rank 60 capstone .
There are two things, T100 and Uber Lilith
For T100 we want high armor and 70% all resistance. Correct me if I am wrong that I feel you probably use resistance gems on Rings and Amulet to get the 70% all resistance. If you use 3 Skulls, you likely will hit 8k5 armor.
I can think of two options
For Uber Lilith
We only need to build damage and defense is not so important.
Hello, correct me if I'm wrong but, does Accelerating Aspect works only on CORE skills? Ball Lightning is a MASTERY skill.
The chain lightning as enchantment is a core skill.
@@r0bb4l0u4 I see, thanks!
I am playing BL Sorc right now on non-HC and die often. Props to you and good luck! Keep it up!
For the specific Lilith fight, I recommend to take the following 4 notes in mind
1. Cast Ultimate once you can damage her in phase 1, so that you can cast ultimate again in Phase 2. Getting 2 Cooldown Reduction stats guarantee you cast 2 Ults, one in Phase 1 and one in Phase 2.

No official links but people have tested it and confirmed this consensus.
Blizzard may remove(fix) this upper bound in the future since other skills don't have it. If it happens, we probably will know that from patch notes.

beat Lilith thanks to your video. !!
Question: on your Paragon board Static Surge, why don't you use the Charged Glyph? It just seems to synergize with it.
Thx for vidéo and build
Hi can you let me know if Movement speed affects your attack speed? If I max my attack speed to the required 100% should i focus on more movement speed also ?
Movement Speed does improve our Attack Speed as we use the Ravenous Vampiric Power.
I still recommend to get more movement speed because
Yup
1. Enchantment Chain Lightning + Accelerating improves our attack speed
2. That attack speed improve our cast rate of Ball Lightning
3. We spend mana faster which improves our Chain Lightning cast from Enchantment
which build do you recommend this or S2 LvL 100 Thor Lightning V2 + Gravitational
Dont you need lucky hint chance on the rings to proc? Is it necessary?
Lucky hit chance is pretty weak in the game in general. Getting straightforward damage stats is simple and effective.
I got the Uber unique Ahavarion Lycander Spear, do you think that I can use in this build?
Yup, it is good. Check the pinned comment Q2 last sentence.

@@fernandoishikawa6358 Awesome!
Hi James,
I use the previous Chain Lightning based build since lvl50, and just switched to this one on lvl85.
Thank You for the quick reply and the detailed explanation, now it is clear. :)
Have a nice day James!
You don't recommend 3 points in potent warding to make 70%->73%? does this work in PVP?
For PVP I think it is better to use Flame Shield enchant over Firebolt Enchant.
3 Points in potent warding in this build only make lightning resistance from 70% to 73%. It is not a super helpful investment in my opinion.
Did you mention why you use 2 hander staff over 1 hander wand/offhand?
I mentioned in another video but please check Q6 in the pinned comment I just updated
for what you use in your Amulet Glass Cannon? that is not in the Build
Devouring Blaze is the best passive. I don't have a better Amulet that I used this one with 20+% Mana Cost Reduction + Glass Cannon.
Do you recommend this for lvl 67Sorc? I’m using another ball lightening build but it’s just okay, I feel like it’s very powerful but right now survival on the Main bosses is tough on tier 4. Thanks
There is a "When to use this build" section at 11:55. If you can satisfy the infinite mana, definitely give this build a try.
Somehow *
Nice pick for Concentration and Congrats on the Raiment and Shako Drop. LETS GOOOOO!
Please make a updated version with the new Tal Rasha ring!
I wonder why you are not using an "Adept" glyph? It seems like a massive loss for the build (it affects both damage and area of lightning ball).
It's the best glyph for this build arguably.
Please check the pin comment. Happy to discuss the reasonings further if you have better ideas.
Thank you for the explanation. Now I see the reason why you prefer other glyphs. I didn't mean to be picky - I tend to use your builds anyway among dozen other versions. Just wanted to know why not Adept since it looked like the best choice on the first sight. Now I know :)
No remnant or Tiults ? 🤪
@@ayajamesaya Great writeup and explained a lot ty!
is that good for the build if i take the godslayer crown as a unique helmet ?
Yes it is great for the build.
The defensive aspect losing order I recommend is the Snowveiled->Everliving->Disobedience. If you do have all three offensive uniques at defensive spots(Helm, Chest Armor, Pants), the damage should be more than enough that I recommend replacing the Conceit on Amulet with Disobedience to improve our survivability.
You mentioned casting chain lighting, and directional etc, but you dont have it on your bar? i see lighting spear
Chain lightning is used as enchantment. Gets auto casted a lot because of spamming ball lightning.
vid like this reminds me of how terrible I am as a player. At lvl 100 and I still cannot beat echo of hatred. I still can't.
LETS GOOOOOO! I got an Oculus recently from the ice uber boss too xD
It confirmed that I was speaking the Truth. LOL@@ayajamesaya
Sorry not really but I know that getting an Uber Unique is 1 out of 50 chance or 2% drop from Duriel.@@d.t.3495
What stats do you have on your Oculus James?@@ayajamesaya
Are you going to update the build to use the new season 1 ring?
Yup I am making a new video on what to expect for the new ring. It will be out later this week before weekend.
@@ayajamesaya great, can’t wait, thanks!!
@@ayajamesaya thank you so much!!
What lvl you have to be to for this build to be effective?
It is less level dependent. The most important thing is to get infinite mana that there is a section.
On top of that aspects, gear stats, glyph levels play very important roles in endgame experience.
Please check the Q3 in the pinned comment for more details I just updated
You allso have no wampiric curse aplier with your wamp powers, yet use pray on the week? How do you apply vulnerable?
The chain lighting enchant which fires when he uses 100 mana and the legendary node which give vulnerable with the chain lightning. He doesnt need chain lightning on his bar as he's constantly using 100 mana while spamming ball lightning
How to get ball lightning around u
most of people are using wand and focus you are the first one i see using ball lighting with a staff can u tell me why i want to understand ?
Check the pinned comment, Q6
thanks alot i didnt see it thank you@@ayajamesaya
its rly hard to get Gravitational Aspect
what do i use at level 47 with gravitational aspect?
d4builds.gg/builds/66ed1355-0f36-41f6-8637-c5421bb6b02b/ is good for leveling until you can get infinite mana for the build in this video
Nice!
How do I get the electric balls to circle me tho
It is dropped randomly. Before acquiring it please check ua-cam.com/video/B8cMK1vQyeM/v-deo.html for alternative build instead.
I made donthecrown build and ended up beating Uber Lilith at level 79😂it’s broken
Diablo 4... a great game...
Yes, much better than season 1
your pararagon have 224 points
are you doctor yet?
If you find some parts of the video hard to understand please let me know :)
Isn’t this going to be nerfed soon?
Next season
@@ayajamesaya yeah ..i saw it much later after posted the comment .. and btw the familiar power is great thx for that info awesome vid :)
Ball Lightlings LUL
XD the L/N is the toughest challenge for me for sure
It's the most fun I've had in the game since launch turbo charging through content.
this build is basicaly cheating, try anything else with the sorc and youll realise that everything else sucks ass compared to it
So what was so bad about bulwark last season again???😂 bring back bulwark!!!!!!!!
This shit needs a nerf so does overpower.
your builds dont exist please fix
