Yes, IN THE PAST but with a House of Commons and prime minister in charge now? Not anymore, the United Kingdom haves the National Health System, something that the Americans don't have. If you were thinking of social democracy and welfare state, Scandinavia come first to your mind right? Denmark, Norway, Sweden, all of them are monarchies if you don't know.
