The fact it rains so much in the UK that places like this have umbrella stands for them is quite a thing to me. I live in the southern US and while we get rain...most umbrellas used are the type that are push button collapsing ones. I'd honestly like to see a video on quality umbrellas, I actually like the kind like he has, my great grandfather on my mother's side used one and I got one just like it. Sadly shoe repair or custom shoe places like this are....very very rare in the area I live. We got ONE shoe repair place that I know of. So...custom bespoke shoes are kinda hard to get.
I aagrre on a video about thsi topic being a great idea though if you want an umbrella like this i would guess your adress is swain atleast this is the place where the majority of all god umbrelas the Gentleman around the world tend to wear come from i dont know if thath exac t piece is from there though

Hi! Kirby i think you should review G&G deco holden in chestnut, freccia besteti perfecta line and stephano bemer tradisione, i loved when you did " whats the difference btw a $500 and a $1200 shoes , compare them they look similar.
beginning of the whole process .............no wonder bespoke shoes are expensive, manual labour hours are high impressive Hope we get to see the whole process
While it's great to see these traditional skills are still practised, I think it's inevitable that all these processes will involve some sort of machine/laser type measuring and 3D printing.
When you say craftmanship, I understand you do not understand about it much clearly. Craftsmanship is not about accuracy. Certain methods deployed to attain accuracy might be seen as craftmanship, But not the other way around. It is a long topic, But let me try to put it into small package. It is a unique way of expression of an individual /a community in adherance to the way of thinking they have evolved over time through objects that might be utilitarian or symbolic by materials that have been part of their livelihoods / Materials of exquisite importance . The object of craft represents how the commitment to express have evolved over time, intellect and the emotion expressed. The craft is defined not only by the item of expression, But the errors and materials a community has deployed, In which they have felt safe and more importantly themselves in.
Brother, When you say you understand craftmanship - It is obvious from my perspective that you lack the depth and exposure to brush up the surface of theory in craft and craftmanship. Let me take the time to remind you that every subject needs its ample time to be understood and studied, Blatantly commenting 'understand' is a mistake even the amateurs in critical thinking fail to commit. Take time to understand deeply what you're commenting about. Then speak. Have a good day.
And this my friends is how Geppetto began making Pinocchio. 🤣 Love the ASMR and the quality craftsmanship ❤️👍🏻
Very nice video Kirby. Thank you for showing the world the hard work, quality and mastery of this old and beautiful craft
Great video of last making by one of the best gentlemen shoe makers in the world
Had a great visit to the shop and also made a small purchase. Everyone was friendly and the history on display was incredible.
Very special for Kirby to have a custom last done by John Lobb.

Davidoff of London has a video on their channel about Fox umbrellas.

All the Lobb videos are my favorite that you've done yet. Love them, Kirby and team!
I am probably the only female watching this, but I find this Fascinating. The Craftsmanship, and attention to detail is superb
Oh Kirby, you hit the spot here. Great side questing sir.
Bravo pour ce remarquable reportage.
Having seen the originals this is really well put together to achieve the ASMR effect
I was thinking the exact same thing. Excellent editing.
Simply beautiful work
After this 45min measurement session, I can confirm you are size 9. That'll be $250 sir thank you
The sound of making…👍
Interesting to see the slight variations from one shoe maker to the next
Hey Kirby I've been following your John Lobb journey but wheres the final result of your bespoke oxfords? Can't wait to see them
WOW...... I fell asleep after about 10 minutes.
I woke up 3 hours later. .......Thanks.
Ahah that last inscription is EPIC 😅🤩
Not telling an old master how to do his job. But he should really reinstate the guard on that bandsaw! 🪚🚶🏾♀️➡️🏨
I know an old master, 76 years old, just left three fingers on his bandsaw.
More content like this!
Is it really difficult to buy a shoe measuring chair that stands on a raised platform so that the master does not kneel?
True craftmanship…
What species of wood is used for the lasts? And is it particularly important?
Beech for lasts. Cedar for shoe trees as it has antisemetic characteristics....

but where is the new episode? Been waiting for over 4 months!!
I really wish they would have a raised platform when they’re measuring the feet
Is that European Beech wood being used?

I wonder what Kirby is like on a camping trip in the rain? 🤔
Nice

Will probably happen unfortunately
Soon technology will wipe out another magnificent craft like this, and more people out of work.
The health and safety executive going to have a field day with this lot
First ASMR I've seen with a chainsaw...
More chainsaw asmr 😂 Seriously - really great video 👍
That guy is awfully casual around the band saw.
oh yuh
Mr Kirby Alison could you show the old shoe models similar to 2019 world shoe making championship narrow shoe
🤙🤙💪💪
I wanted them in black
I can smell the sawdust
At last , that will be £500 thanks
Asmr with power tools
I understand traditional craftsmanship but wouldn’t a cast mold or 3D modeling be more accurate and require less manhours?
You write the code to program such a machine and I’ll write the business plan. We’ll go into business and make a fortune
I understand the tradition, But wouldn't be programmed android / software be more accurate and quicker than humans on an f1 car?

@@AqtharHussain that's a word salad of a response that lacks any coherent truth.
This isn't asmr, or even interesting, when you interrupt the video with numerous commercials. Don't call it asmr, then. It's annoying and false.
Skilled but shouldn’t wear long sleeves with those machines. Easy to have an accident
Not ASMR noises too loud.
It’s a guy in a woodworking shop 🙄
All good but the slow motion is more annoying than triggering 🫤
