    The fact it rains so much in the UK that places like this have umbrella stands for them is quite a thing to me. I live in the southern US and while we get rain...most umbrellas used are the type that are push button collapsing ones. I'd honestly like to see a video on quality umbrellas, I actually like the kind like he has, my great grandfather on my mother's side used one and I got one just like it. Sadly shoe repair or custom shoe places like this are....very very rare in the area I live. We got ONE shoe repair place that I know of. So...custom bespoke shoes are kinda hard to get.

    While it's great to see these traditional skills are still practised, I think it's inevitable that all these processes will involve some sort of machine/laser type measuring and 3D printing.

      I understand the tradition, But wouldn't be programmed android / software be more accurate and quicker than humans on an f1 car?

    • @AqtharHussain
      @AqtharHussain Місяць тому +8

      When you say craftmanship, I understand you do not understand about it much clearly. Craftsmanship is not about accuracy. Certain methods deployed to attain accuracy might be seen as craftmanship, But not the other way around. It is a long topic, But let me try to put it into small package.
      It is a unique way of expression of an individual /a community in adherance to the way of thinking they have evolved over time through objects that might be utilitarian or symbolic by materials that have been part of their livelihoods / Materials of exquisite importance . The object of craft represents how the commitment to express have evolved over time, intellect and the emotion expressed. The craft is defined not only by the item of expression, But the errors and materials a community has deployed, In which they have felt safe and more importantly themselves in.

    • @AqtharHussain
      @AqtharHussain Місяць тому +6

      Brother, When you say you understand craftmanship - It is obvious from my perspective that you lack the depth and exposure to brush up the surface of theory in craft and craftmanship. Let me take the time to remind you that every subject needs its ample time to be understood and studied, Blatantly commenting 'understand' is a mistake even the amateurs in critical thinking fail to commit. Take time to understand deeply what you're commenting about. Then speak. Have a good day.
