I just turned 200,000 on a 2006 XC-70. Snabb cat-less down pipe, 304 3” stainless w/Borla resonator & racing “muffler”, Simota cold air intake, IPD & Snabb Silicone intercooler, throttle, intake hoses. Currently running an Elevate tune.
I have an upgraded turbocharger being built for me by Tony at A1Turbo (he’s been building turbos for over 30 years)
Next mods will be a Snabb FMI or custom, stainless exhaust manifold headers, custom aluminum intake manifold, junk engine to rebuild -hot cams, closed deck.
Having a 5 cylinder, I could never go back to a 4 cyl. That’s just me, maybe I need to drive one of these screamers sometime.
I subbed to your channel and love all things Volvo. Thanks for the great video!

18:00 if you don’t trust whiteblocks, this thing is just gonna make that opinion even stronger haha. Least reliable whiteblock going 😂 in all seriousness they are great cars when they work, mines been my daily for a year and half and not gone wrong, but they aren’t the best intro to white blocks, the original T5 engine from an 850 is just as reliable as any redblock imo

I’ve been getting all the big maintenance items out of the way so I can trust it. So far so good. Learning curve from a redblock for sure

In my experience whiteblocks are just as reliable as redblocks, but a bit more complicated to work on. None of them takes overheat or lack of lubrication very well (abuse), but what engine is? Redblocks are often mixed up. Old redblocks with iron head and pushrods (B18/B20) can take overheat better. Pretty much bulletproof engines, while the newers are good too, just not as bulletproof. Whiteblocks using the same alloy in the engine should fare better than the mixed alloy and cast iron of a newer redblock. (Not to mention the difference in power on top of that)

White blocks ( at least the earlier ones ) are super reliable , take Robertdiy 500k miles on the original engine, and he beats on that thing ! I heard of someone drive an 850 cross country on 3 cylinders haha

I am but haven’t been active in years. I mainly use the Facebook turbo brick groups
