Love you Rebecca 😊and how thorough and straight forward your reviews are. I purchased this foundation hesitantly because of reviews I watched on it and I have to say it is the best foundation I have ever tried! I have tried alot, I am definitely a foundation junkie. Always searching for what I feel looks and works the best. I preface it by saying I have dry skin(am 49). It made my skin look airbrushed, healthy and more youthful. I did not find it it was as glowy on me as reviews I have seen on it. I think my mac strobe dewy skin tint is actually glowier but I love that 1 too but this 1 is better. I did set with setting spray and did not have a transfer issue like I have experienced with others. So for anyone that has dry skin I can not reccomend it enough, it checks all of the boxes!!
I grabbed Shade 11 and tried it for the first time this morning. I love it so far. Doesn't look nearly as shiny on me as it does on Rebecca but I am significantly older than her and have very dry skin. It is dewy but not shiny on me and makes my skin look alive. I did use a mattifying primer under it (Hourglass brand) and maybe that helped to keep the luminosity in check. It's only been about 3 hours since I put it on and I need to see what it looks like after a solid 8 hours, but so far, I have to say that I am impressed. I hope I don't eat those words at the end of my wear test!
That’s like a Charlotte one on me. It’s really shiny and everyone else and on me it’s just natural. Isn’t it strange that way different formulas react on our skin?
@@kellyreed5283 me too . I have very dry skin . Lasted all day on me . I had it one since 8 am next time I will go with a less dewy blush or less pigmented I used the Patrick Ta on top and it was too much I don’t like so much blush
Kinda reminds me of the reviews for the CT Unreal Skin, a zillion extra steps and all-day attention to “make it work”. So many other choices for “apply and forget it” people like me. Excellent review as always.
I have both-I would not say it is like the CT at all. It wasn’t really glowy on me at all where the CT was off the charts and not natural. If this helps!
I’m going to be 64 and have combo/oily skin mature skin. Can’t do Patrick Ta’s foundations but love his blushes! Thanks for your informative content, Rebecca!
I’m agree. I think if you can make it to the store to see any product-especially complexion shades-go look at it in person. I don’t care what it looks like o the app-lipstick, blush, eyeshadow. Look at it in person. 70% of the time you end up realizing “oh that doesn’t look like what I thought it would”
Hi Rebecca, I was going to order this so I could review and because I love Patrick Ta, but I’m glad I didn’t, I like glow but I think it’s borderline looking greasy. Thank you for another great review💕💕💕
I love your reviews!!! And thank you so much for the pictures of the ingredients that you take the time to add… I’m allergic to hyaluronic acid and some companies make it so difficult to find the info online, you make life so much easier ❤xox
Two things: 1) I’m your shade twin typically and so glad I didn’t buy the 10 online - I almost did but decided to wait for your review! 😅 2) The marketing and packaging for this foundation makes me want to try it in theory but, seeing your review, not in reality due to heavy shine, transfer, and coverage level combined with price. I think I have others that perform for my preferences much better. I do like the 13 on you! Makes me wonder if Olive tone shades in other brands may actually be viable. The It Cosmetics shade I preferred years ago was Olive leaning and looked really good on me too. Thank you for your diligence to accomplish this review!
I have the same question but when I really see this outside it’s a tad bit dark and kind of a little bit too green on me. It works but it’s not perfect. But I’m not concerned because honestly this is not a foundation I’m gonna reach for often
Hi dear Rebecca! Thanks for turying this foundation for us, and indeed, it depends on what is the purpose of the day what to wear, what type foundation, sure and looks beautiful on you!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩Sending you lots of love!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi lovely Rebecca !! This is definitely a glowy foundation . I think the new shade match is perfect . I normally as a rule get a sample first with a shade match in sore . I love a glow but I think this foundation is a little shiny for me personally. Great review as always a pleasure ❤🤗
I'm a light olive. MOST makeup companies will make olive foundations golden.. when, in fact, we need the GREEN in there!! Your undertone NEVER changes, whatever the season or level of natural tan. Your skin will act differently as you age, but your skin's undertone is eternal.. 😎✌🏼💜
I’m so glad I watched this before I ordered it. I tried the shade match tool on the website with 3 different brands of foundation (MAC, Dior, and Estee Lauder) that match my skin perfectly. I got 3 different results that were not even close to each other. What is up with that? Now I am on my way to Sephora to get matched.
Okay ... To Glow or Shine ... What Shall It Be? Tis it nobler to powder or look like KFC? Patrick Ta! This combo girl shall not know! [[Love the Olive Shade match]]
I am on the same boat, when I went to get matched. I am usually neutral but can tan olive. So I had to get to shades to creat my match ( shade 8 & 13).
I can't get over all the negative reviews that Sephora erased...😳 How are we supposed to trust the reviews on Sephora now? 3 days ago, the majority of them were negative, mentioning how the foundation stays greasy, how powder only makes it look cakey and several people mentioned breaking out from it or the colors being strange. I guess if Sephora removes reviews like this, then they are setting themselves up for many returns 🤷🏻♀️ My question to you: did you try it again with powder, and if so, how did it do? (Or, how did the dew do?) 😂 Thank you for this review Rebecca! I'm not sure I'll pick it up, because choosing a shade seems to be a nightmare and, well...reviews. ❤
They erased the negative reviews??? That is honestly honestly terrible. And yet I believe they would do it. I totally think they would do it. They could be very unscrupulous. I did try it again with powder and it’s a little better but in all honesty it’s just too fussy for me
That is crazy!! I'm gonna start checking for that. Should screenshot and share. Some reviewers with oily skin are saying it's great. I do not believe them now. Seems like they just like Patrick - OR - they were paid to say it's great for oily skin.
Wow it is really dewy! I think I will love this in the winter month, when my skin can be a tad dry. I am normal with kinda oily t zone. I love how you explain what kind of situations the foundation is best for! Yes it makes totally sense. When I am knee deep at work, I go to meetings etc and only look at my makeup if I can remember to! Lol. You looked lovely as always otherwise! Thank you for the review!❤
Great review as always. Although the foundation is targeted toward skin type. Im passing. I'm not a fan of the glowness and the transferring. You are so right Patrick does like a good glow.
Hi Rebecca, I think your shade match(13 medium olive )looks fantastic on you, however this foundation is not recommended for people like me who have oily skin, can you imagine if I applied this foundation on, without face powder (loose) ,it would look like grease pit city shortly after application ,so no I will not be purchasing this , but my daughter has dry skin and I might get her a sample to try. Love Katherine xoxo
I am a light to light medium neutral. CT 4, Dior 2/2.5, I tried 8,9,10,11. 8,9,11 are “yellow” and 10 is neutral, but I found 8 too light, 9 too dark, and 11 was one shade up from 8 and not as dingy looking on my skin tone as 9. So trying to decide between 10 and 11, 10 looked too light pink and 11 too yellow. After 10 minutes 10 was perfect. So it does darken a little. My skin is dry textured mature. It looked super luminous and pretty. Powdered in t zone it lasted maybe 6 hours looking amazing. I mean really amazing. It does transfer but is improved by setting spray. I used CT. Not for oily skin. Absolutely not.
Good morning! 🙋🏼♀️Olive skin tone here. It is funny to me when I try to shade match. I put the olive leaning color next my skin and am always “nah, that’s not my tone” then I actually put it on and it’s perfect. 😂😂 I don’t think I’d like this foundation. Thanks for the review
Hello Melissa! Yes olive skin tones are the hardest to match. I’m really not olive . As another comment says -how about people that are actually truly olive complexions, which shade did they wear? And it’s a great question
OMG !!! The SAME (well sorta the same) thing happened to me!! First let me preface we are skin twins. Ok, so I did same day delivery and ordered 10N but by accident ordered 13 olive. What a happy accident 🎉🎉 10N is totally not what I expected it to look like! Thank you for this video Rebecca! You rock ❤
I can’t wait to sample this. I have really dry skin, but I think in very hot and humid Fla., this foundation would be great for the less humid winter months. I wear the Sublimage le Teint, which is very pricey. Hope I find a good shade match, and it’s comparable to the very expensive Chanel foundation. It looks great on you, shade is spot on.
I have dry skin but this is wild. Do you have any thoughts about a satin finish foundation that would work? I think I'm a little over glow. Haus labs was cakey on me. Thanks for the review!
I am extreme combination so even though this would supposedly be okay for me, I don't think so! My t-zone is very oily pretty quickly even powdered. Transfer makes it a definite no. Thanks, Rebecca.
There is no silicone in this at all and so it is not a surprise that it performs differently than most foundations out there. I wonder how it compares to the Saie Glowy Skin foundation which I absolutely hated though.
I'm all for mimosa and eggs benedict makeup! I'm here to go to the mall and be seen!!!! I use my fenty or mac for 12 hour shifts at the hospital ! Nervous about my order LOL I also ordered shade 10 neutral. AND I'm typically a light medium neutral. I think you are more golden than I am so we aren't shade twins but I was surprised to see how LIGHT the 10 is on you!!! Thanks for another great video!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Hey! update! My 10 neutral ended up working SO GREAT!! It's odd. First time I tried it I was using my typical moisturizer Tula 24/7. with fenty hydrating primer. It was SO STICKY and mask like thick serum. I really didn't care for the formula and was bummed I spent so much on it. BUT I wanted to give it another try and switch things up. SO this time I used my moisturizer again tula 24/7 this time i used Nars mattifying primer and I let it soak in for 10 mins or so. And then used a damp beauty blender and lightly pounced it all over my face. It was still serum sticky but way way less. I let that sit and then did a second layer. I powdered it down lightly with OG prism libre powder and did the rest of my makeup with an hourglass palette for bronzer blush highlight. It has been SO LOVELY all day!!!! It's been a solid 7 hours so far and I look radiant and fresh. Not Sticky. I think its fantastic!!! oh i used lys natural finish setting spray too. It's not going to become my work horse foundation for the hospital but its super wearable and comfortable and pretty! I think the matte primer really made the difference. I'm normal to dry skin type too. ok mini update!!! - thanks for reading! wondering if you are still trying this out in different ways
Definitely not for my flight attendant long shifts ☺️(although the air in the cabin is extremely dry) ! I tried a sample of the ByTerry one and really like it, now I’m waiting for a sale ☺️
Usually I rely on you as my shade twin, but think when the UK eventually gets this (we don’t even have those gloopy highlighters yet, so won’t be till next year 🤦🏻♀️) I will give it a miss or face an expensive guestimate 😉
You needed the song "Shiny Happy People" by REM playing in the background Lol I do love Patrick Ta but having said that, I don't have any of his products! I think the 🫒shade looks good on you and I know you're not a cray-cray powder person- but I would have been SO tempted to powder my face!! That look is just too shiny for me. What the "woah moment" for me is, if YOU are a medium olive in this line (and normally a light/medium NEUTRAL) then what shade are the true olive skin tones going to need?? Things that make you go "Hmmmmmm" 🧐
Exactly. What shade would an actual olive skin tone be? And I still think this one turns me a little bit Green to be honest with you. Shiny happy people is the perfect song for this. Or, depending, shiny unhappy people
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I agree. While the colour was slightly better than neutral I still don't think it was the correct shade. Yes!! Shiny 'unhappy' people! Why didn't I think of that?! 🤣
I got shade 10 looks fine . I tried with NO skincare looked bad . I didn’t go out . Today I will try today with my fingers or brush . I don’t like sponge but it sorta reminded of hourglass skin tint . Hourglass is 50.00 and less coverage. We will see
We used to be shade twins but the last year and half you have been darker and I have gotten lighter lol. I was going to get 10N and it would have been good for me. I said let me wait cause I didn’t love his last foundation. This is going to be too dewy for me. I am going to get the new Vieve foundation when it comes to space NK 9/3 I think. And for sure the new Huda blur. Those will be more my style. 😊
This level of glow/dew is definitely not for me-I’m too oily. But I thought it looked good on you! I can totally see how this would fit in a makeup wardrobe especially for someone with dry skin. I think the 13O matched you well! (The 10N did look too pink and pale! Who knew?) I think I liked it more with one layer, dew-wise. And 1 layer had a nice level of coverage.
Good Morning Rebecca! 🌞 Whoa! This foundation may even be too much “glow” for this dry skinned old gal 😂. But…. Maybe good for the winter months when it’s cold and I’m even drier. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m very surprised that the olive works for you. Looking at the shade chart online I could wear either shade 11 or 13. Never thought of you as olive, but it does match you. Interesting. Hugs 🤗 ~CeCe ❤🌷
Sorry you didn’t love it. I really like this foundation! Guessed on Shade 10-LM skin tone combo skin. Looks super natural. From my perspective Patrick Ta did great with this launch!
My oily skin could never. Constructive criticism: it was driving me crazy when you were trying to show us the shades in the bottle, but kept turning the bottles so the label faced the camera, instead of the clear glass sides so we could actually see the shades! 😅
Thank you for your review. This foundation looks too glowy.. I live in very hot and very, very humid SW Florida. Even when I’m out most of the day I never get so oily or sweaty to develop that kind of shine. That alone makes me totally uninterested. I could go on with more negative remarks but why? Personally, I like a foundation that I can slap on, do a little bronzer and blush and hit the road. Looking greasy/sweaty is not a look I strive for.😅😂❤
I usually love Ta products but I tried this yesterday and within 1 hour I was a oil slick and I have dry mature skin. This is a big no for me especially here in Florida. I have no desire to revisit my oily teenager face.
The name is over the top. I think the shade match is fine. This is definitely glowy, and I've watched a few other reviews and it is the same! Too glowy for me. I think you've done a nice look but I don't love it on you!😮 It's ok.
Little pricey Patrick 😂 this one is not for me, i like a bit of glow but this is too glowy. How much longer is Natasha going to make me wait for her liquid foundation 🤔 if she makes a glowy one like the PT? I'll cry 😫 Vive has just released a new foundation as well, which looks interesting.
I think it's a hard pass for me. For the price, it's too fussy. I have several other foundations that will provide a glow without all the fussiness. I think there are better options out there tbh
Too glowy, shiny for me…. Fussy which can’t be bothered with. I get the whole color thing. As soon as you put the 10N on, too light and pink. I’m somewhere between light medium to medium neutral and I don’t think it would have worked for me either. And I definitely wouldn’t have thought olive tone for me but it doesn’t matter. Again too many reasons not for me.
This foundation is an automatic hell no for me. I do not want glass skin. At all. I want natural finish, not a luminous. In my opinion he made this foundation for people who wear nothibg else but foundation and do not mind sticky mess on their faces which attracks every speck of fiber and sticks. And also I complately disagree that youtful means shining on your face like a bloody diamond. No thanks. This foubdation is a total bummer for me and I do not even have oily skin. I am not into babysitting my makeup. I put it on in the morning and I want it to just stay for 10 hours and not touch it.
Idk Rebecca...I think the second shade is good enough for you but I'm not sure about this foundation. Instead of looking youthful & a healthy glow it looks greasy. Disco ball 🪩 meets glazed doughnut that's been on trend since when...last year or '22? Not for me but that's ok cause I'm still enjoying the Lancome Care & Glow...glowy enough for this matte loving gal!! 🥰❤️

I love the By terry
Usually I rely on you as my shade twin, but think when the UK eventually gets this (we don’t even have those gloopy highlighters yet, so won’t be till next year 🤦🏻♀️) I will give it a miss or face an expensive guestimate 😉
Totally an expensive guesstimate
You needed the song "Shiny Happy People" by REM playing in the background Lol
I do love Patrick Ta but having said that, I don't have any of his products!
I wonder what shades 11 and 12 would look like, did you swatch them in store?
I believe I did and now they’re all kind of swirling into one mess in my head
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty 😂
I got shade 10 looks fine . I tried with NO skincare looked bad . I didn’t go out . Today I will try today with my fingers or brush . I don’t like sponge but it sorta reminded of hourglass skin tint . Hourglass is 50.00 and less coverage. We will see
That hourglass skin tint is my favorite and this one, I like it, but it’s still one of my least favorites so it’s kind of funny
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty my skin is so dry I wore it today . I asked random people how my skin looked lol . Nobody said it looked too glowy
How does this compare to his compact foundation?
Similar in the fact that they’re both kind of fussy and require all sorts of other elements in order to work, if that makes sense
It’s because I’m not doing well enough with my sunscreen honestly
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty lol you’re husband will be fussing lol
This product name reminds me of the days when people got paid per word in publishing 😅
Totally. Neiman Marcus used to pay me two dollars a word. I wish they paid me that to say the names of these products. But those days are long gone
I think one layer is better. It reduces the amount of glow.
Good Morning Rebecca! 🌞
Whoa! This foundation may even be too much “glow” for this dry skinned old gal 😂. But…. Maybe good for the winter months when it’s cold and I’m even drier. 🤷🏻♀️
I’m very surprised that the olive works for you. Looking at the shade chart online I could wear either shade 11 or 13. Never thought of you as olive, but it does match you. Interesting.
Hugs 🤗
~CeCe ❤🌷
I have always thought I was more neutral but it really does work for me!
I am ultra dry skinned but I don’t like fussy “broken nail” looks and have humid climate. I think I will have to pick up a sample.
Samples are smart!!
Sorry you didn’t love it. I really like this foundation! Guessed on Shade 10-LM skin tone combo skin. Looks super natural. From my perspective Patrick Ta did great with this launch!
It’s very much within his wheelhouse. It’s a very Patrick product for sure
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty i have not liked his recent releases but do enjoy this! Thanks for reviewing!
My oily skin could never. Constructive criticism: it was driving me crazy when you were trying to show us the shades in the bottle, but kept turning the bottles so the label faced the camera, instead of the clear glass sides so we could actually see the shades! 😅
That’s not the usual. I didn’t realize the camera wasn’t picking up the bottles. I’m very sorry about that!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty It's all good! I love your content so much 💕
Glowy foundation has its’ place but it’s not for me 😆💕
I hear that
Thank you for your review. Looking greasy/sweaty is not a look I strive for.😅😂❤
It's definitely not for everyone!
Where is the flap
Actually I had demand to flap. There must be a flap somewhere on this darn thing
Thank you for your review! Oily skin girl here 🙋🏻♀️ so I will pass
I understand, it’s not for everyone.
I usually love Ta products but I tried this yesterday and within 1 hour I was a oil slick and I have dry mature skin. This is a big no for me especially here in Florida. I have no desire to revisit my oily teenager face.
I know, it’s just not for everyone. Honestly it would never be my daily go to
The name is over the top. I think the shade match is fine. This is definitely glowy, and I've watched a few other reviews and it is the same! Too glowy for me. I think you've done a nice look but I don't love it on you!😮 It's ok.
Totally agreed. Not my favorite either
🫒
I should’ve had a martini prepared
Funny- you've always come across as Olive to me!
When I get some sun, I can definitely lean olive
Little pricey Patrick 😂 this one is not for me, i like a bit of glow but this is too glowy. How much longer is Natasha going to make me wait for her liquid foundation 🤔 if she makes a glowy one like the PT? I'll cry 😫 Vive has just released a new foundation as well, which looks interesting.
Natasha, produce the foundation, darn it. We are waiting!
I have mature skin on the dryer side and I wouldn’t buy this foundation. It looks greasy not glowy. Great for younger girls.
I hear you on that.
This wasn’t the best looking foundation on you :(
It’s too sweaty looking not glowy
But!!! I KNEW you weren’t neutral definitely warm tones!!
Whenever you wore neutrals it kind of washed you out!! But
Yes this is so good!! (Color wise)
I’ve been having the same thought.
I think it's a hard pass for me. For the price, it's too fussy. I have several other foundations that will provide a glow without all the fussiness. I think there are better options out there tbh
Agreed entirely
Too glowy, shiny for me…. Fussy which can’t be bothered with. I get the whole color thing. As soon as you put the 10N on, too light and pink. I’m somewhere between light medium to medium neutral and I don’t think it would have worked for me either. And I definitely wouldn’t have thought olive tone for me but it doesn’t matter. Again too many reasons not for me.
So true. Too many unknowns!
Agreed. I actually like glass skin but this is more like oil skin
It’s a shiny mess! I am sorry, but when it looks that greasy, it’s very unappealing!
It does look like it could be a little much for my preference
There’s a fine line between glowy and greasy, this is greasy. I have extremely oily skin so this is a no for me.
I am on board with this comment
Why use skin in the title twice Mr. Ta? 😅
Makes the name longer! Haha
It's just not the right formula for me.
