    This song was one of many done when there was a lockdown. They each recorded at their own homes and then it was put together. They helped keep us sane. Tim Foust is the bass, Adam Chance is baritone/bass Rob (beard and glasses) is tenor, Austin is high tenor and Adam Rupp is beatboxer. I would love to see more of them. Thank you and have a good one.

    This is one of literally dozens that they have done - please check out more. Helplessly Hoping - How Great Thou Art - Ring of Fire. They are incredibly diverse. And they sang with Kenny on Children Go Where I Send Thee. A fantastic arrangement.

    At the end when you see all five of them together they are: Austin Brown - high tenor, Rob Lundquist - tenor, Adam Chance - baritone, Tim Foust - bass, Adam Rupp - beatboxer and tenor voice. There are dozens of song on UA-cam including live versions. My favorites are Hillbilly Bone, Man of Constant Sorrow, My Maria, Down to the Honkytonk, Ring of Fire just to name a few.

      @@BritPopsReact you mentioned the deep Southern twang. Austin hails from Georgia, Tim from eastern Texas & Adam Chance (AKA "Chance") from Alabama, so three Southern boys. Rob & Adam Rupp are both from Minnesota. Adam Rupp is the brother of Chris Rupp who founded the group. When Chris left to go solo, he helped bring over Chance from another acapella group that performed on The Sing Off, Street Corner Symphony, where he had been their bass singer. SCS is most famous as introducing Macklemore to the world.
      Tim has a 5-octave range, and he amazed the judges on The Sing Off with his ability to go from the depths all the way up to high tenor. In concert, he rattles seats and has caused speaker issues a few times.
      Man of Constant Sorrow is how I suggest everyone get a feel for Home Free. It plays to their strengths in ways that many other songs don't. There are a number of others that are fantastic Just don't listen to Mayday until you hear several of their other numbers, because it isn't as impressive if you don't know where everyone is "supposed" to be singing.

      @@eacole72 Home Free and Chris did handle the transition to Chance very well when Chris went solo but it is a rumour going round that Chris helped to recruit Chance. On 6 August Chris Rupp did an interview with reactor QoFy and said that he wasn't involved in the recruiting of Chance. The link is available from Chris' twitter account. It is a long interview, but very interesting, and the pertinent info is at the 33 minute mark.

    As usual, completely enjoyed your reactions. Just to be fair, you did NOT select one of their videos that shows off their talents. Their beat boxer may well be the best out there. They do have a lot of fun in their videos. To get a better feel of their range, and when your giggle-box need a good coat of oil and work-out, check out their "Butts Remix" and "All About That Bass". Oh yea, just for giggles, their beat boxer, Adam Rupp, does a 7 minute solo, on the drums...without instruments! Thanks and enjoy!

    They did not change this one up too much as they were friends with Kenny Roger's and did it as a tribute to him. Home Free videos are not overly produced. They wow you with their vocals, not the video itself. You should look at their version of Folsum Prison Blues or Ring of Fire with Avi.

  • @babyfry4775

    This is a tribute to the great Kenny Rogers. They filmed this during Covid so they are all separate. They sang a great song with Kenny called Children Go Where I Send Thee. They are country but sing all genres of music. Rob is a tenor (not bass). Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range so he can sing bass all the way up to tenor. They sing a lot of covers but also write and sing their own stuff. They can all sing lead depending on the song. Their beatboxer is amazing. Try Helplessly Hoping, In The Blood, I Can’t Outrun You, One Man Band to hear more great harmonies. You need to hear more songs.

    Hi guys, Janet again… I would actually love to see you react to Home Free, When A Man Loves A Woman, this was filmed during COVID so they did a remote video, much like Pentatonix did during that time, incredible talent, dig deeper with this group, I have very picky ears about “good “ music, these guys are awesome! Barbershop was the first modern a cappella, in all honesty.

    I agree with some other comments that this song is the most "ordinary" Home Free has done. If you want to see the other end of their talent spectrum, you must see their Butts Remix, Country Fried Pop Medley, Workin' for a Livin' or Hillbilly Bone. But you should be prepared to let your hair down and just enjoy yourself! Assuming Brits do that sort of thing...😊😁

    Home Free is my favorite a cappella group & are in a league of their own. I do not care for the other groups. These guys are humble & don't have any egos. They can sing any genre but lean towards country. They were very creative during quarantine. They filmed separately from their homes & then it was edited together. They did a great job of this song & it was a nice tribute to Kenny Rogers who they performed with before. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there. And Adam Rupp their beatboxer is awesome. Drummers have commented that his vocal percussion is so realistic & he sounds like a drum kit. You need to watch their video "Man Of Constant Sorrow" to see how talented this group really is. And it is an insult to compare them to barbershop singers.

      I absolute love Home free but you're wrong. Pentatonix won 3 grammies for 3 very different genres. One grammy for Electronic music with Daft Punk, one grammy for classical music with Dance of the Sugar plum fairy and another for country music with Jolene. So Ptx is more versatile You can't Say Home free does everything while Pentatonix mostly does pop. I'm sorry you're plain wrong. Home Free does more country than PTX does pop. Pentatonix' top 5 biggest songs aren't even pop. Hallelujah is a ballad, daft punk is Electronic music, Mary did you know is a Christian hymn, little drummer boy is a Christian hymn too, bohemian Rhapsody is rock. I Hope now you Can see how wrong your comment was

    Rob is the man with the beard and glasses. They are an all-vocal country group and 3 of the 5 of them grew up in the deep south (Texas, Alabama and Georgia) The other 2 are from Minnesota where the group originated. Adam Rupp (the beatboxer) and his brother Chris Rupp were the ones who started the group when they were in college. Chris left in 2016 around the same time as Avi left PTX.

    They are a quartet with a beatboxer so you can get a barbershop vibe from that. On occasion, they drop the beatboxing and do five par/ harmonies. They center their repertoire on "Country" music thus the southern US accents. They are not limited to that genre. Good examples of other styles are Helplessly Hoping, End of the Road, Mayday, and Sea Shanty Medley.

    Please don't let the hateful comments by some stop you from reacting to them. I don't know why I am amazed by how cruel people can be. It's been that way since the beginning of time, but social media has brought it to our forefront. Glad I didn't grow up with that, but sad for my kids that have to. It boggles my mind that people are so hateful because you may not like the music they like. In my generation, you had your rockers, your rappers, your new waver's, your pop fans, your metalheads, etc, and we all didn't give a s@#t what you listened to. We all got along no matter what. Different times, different generation. I was never a fan of country music, but Home Free inspired me to go out and buy cow"girl" boots (and I'm a city girl from NY) lol! Keep up your reactions and never mind the haters.

    I love HF as much as PTX for different reasons. Their comedy and not taking themselves too seriously really makes me chuckle. I love singing along to this one but it’s not the best showcase of their talent or wit. The video was done during lockdown and I thought it was clever how they’ve done it as if they were together playing poker. Meet in the Middle is another lockdown one with a better video. Try 9 to 5, All About That Bass or The Butts Remix, there’s a couple at least you’ll know in there. They also did Ring of Fire with Avi from PTX I’d deffo recommend that one.

    If you like Pentatonix, and you want to know what happened with Avi from Pentatnix, a great way to miss what Home Free can do because of a song they recorded during lockdown, you have got to react to Home Free's cover of "Ring Of Fire" featuring Avi: ua-cam.com/video/0l3dsHCScxU/v-deo.html
    In this song Avi is the base, and Tim Faust does a lot of singing with Avi but at a higher pitch than we're used to hearing, but the last ridiculously low note is Tim Faust's.
    Adam Rupp is one of the most talented beat boxers in the world. If you want to hear a beatboxer perfectly mimicking a harmonica, check out Home Free's "Man of constant sorrow".

  • @audreyf5614
    @audreyf5614 2 роки тому +3

    To hear them harmonize at their best, check out "Helplessly Hoping" by Crosby, Stills and Nash. Another good one is "Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get it On" (Ed Sheeran/Marvin Gaye) mashup. You might like "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash, featuring Pentatonix's former member Avi Kaplan. Honestly, any song by them is amazing. This was probably not the best song to be introduced to them. Most reactors start with "Man of Constant Sorrow", which is another great one. FYI, they have a serious side and a very humorous side to their choice of music/videos. Check out more of their stuff. You won't be disappointed. I started out as a Pentaholic, but now I'd say I'm a bigger Home Fry.

    • @miamidolphinsfan

      this wasn't their 1st reaction to them. A couple of months ago they tore down Home Free so much that Home Fries attacked the reaction, and after just a couple of hours they deleted the reaction.

    • @audreyf5614
      @audreyf5614 2 роки тому +3

      @@miamidolphinsfan I don't know what the first song they reacted to was, but perhaps they just haven't been reacting to the right songs by Home Free. And if they're still not a fan of Home Free after listening to the best of the best by them, then so be it. Who are we to dictate to them what to like. It's their channel and they are just giving their honest opinion. They didn't say they didn't like Home Free, they complimented them on their harmonizing (that's why I suggested "Helplessly Hoping"), and they loved Tim's bass. They just, pretty much stated, they didn't have that "wow" factor like PTX, and with this song, I agree. Some reactors like PTX better, some Home Free, and some love them both equally, but they all seem to agree on one thing, both bands are extremely talented in what they do. It's hard not to compare the two since there aren't many acapella bands out there. If commenters start insulting reactors, they will stop reacting to them, and that's a disservice to Home Free. I am not a "You tuber", but I assume the more views to your video, the better. Let's encourage them to watch their videos. I'm sure it helps out Home Free. They don't have to be super fans, but they can enjoy their music none the less. If they compare the bands, they compare the bands. They are not the first reactors to do so. As far as Home Fries attacking their reaction, that's just being disrespectful. Not everyone has to love what you love. I am a Gen X'er. Not everyone gets a trophy. We didn't grow up with social media, and, quite frankly, I'm glad. To hear other's attacking other's about music is quite disturbing! I mean no disrespect to you. I would love for them to love Home Free like I (we) do, but if they don't that's fine. I would rather see reactors give their honest opinions than fake it, just to gain views, likes and subscribers. Peace!

    I'm quite new to Home Free but they've done some great stuff, this is probably one of my least favourite although I believe they filmed this separately while in quarantine. I hope you stick with them and do more. Man of Constant Sorrow is amazing and they have a really fun side too which you'd see in Country Fried Pop Medley or The Butts Remix. Thanks for sharing your reaction 🙂

    A lot of Home Free's videos are taken from their shows on stage. You keep mentioning Barber Shop; I think you'd get a kick out their stage routine "Songs That Didn't Make the Cut." This was a little bit before Chance became a member of the group; the guy in the red shirt is Chris Rupp, the beatboxer's brother and co-founder who left for solo projects but also sings with 7th Ave with their sister. (Their video for Uptown Funk is a lot of fun.) Home Free's Guilty Pleasures has 3 slightly different versions that I've seen, depending on how the audience reacts and what they may call out. The most popular one is the "derailed" version; the boys got so tickled they went off script a bit. I say check out all three. There's a video called "Home Free Falls" which is a bit from a show where Tim accidentally fell down and the rest of the guy played a joke on him around that. My favorite 'recorded from the audience' bit is "Home Free Concert Morrison, IL 8/19/15". You may find it too long to react to at 27 minutes so try "Tim Foust breaking sound system at Morrison" at just 2 minutes and watch the half-hour one on your own.

      They are a one of a kind acappella band, because they are the only country acappella band.

    These guys are head and shoulders ABOVE pentatonix! This song was done during quarantine. How many other groups released new music on average every two weeks during quarantine?? Rob Lundquist is NOT the bass. He is one of their tenors. Tim Foust is their bass. He has a FIVE octave range! He has blown sound systems. Austin Brown is their high tenor. Adam Chance (aka Chance)the baritone (bass when Tim is singing another part). Adam Rupp is the best boxer. He is the brother of Chris Rupp who founded the group. You REALLY missed the mark on this one. They are absolutely NOT barbershop, not even close. These guys run the gamut of genres. You haven’t begun to see what they can do. They did a collaboration with Kenny Rogers & the Oakridge Boys that are amazing. Home Free fans are loyal to the bone! You need to try again and again to see what they are really about!

      Hahahaha. I really love home free but saying they are head and shoulder above Pentatonix ? Come on now. Be Real. Pentatonix made the grammy's create a whole new category and include Acapella. Pentatonix have won a grammy for EDM type music with Daft punk, classical music with dance of of the sugar plum fairy, and another for a country song with Jolene. Home free are not even more versatile. Pentatonix are much bigger, much more successful and objectively better. You Can Say you prefer Home Free and that's very valid and i Can see why you would. But saying not only they are better but "head and shoulders above"? I would respect your opinion but you didn't respect theirs as if saying PTX is better is stupid😅. Home free are not half what Pentatonix is. Man they have multi Platinum albums. Home free don't even have a gold album i believe. So no. YOU missed the mark.

Tim Foust himself said Pentatonix are the ones that made Acapella mainstream. So without pentatonix, Home Free wouldn't be half as Big as they are now.
