And here are now in mid 2023 and still no meaningful advance in chargpt. I work daily with openai API and believe me gpt 4 is not better than 3, it may get more context but it is not more smart. So I actually believe we are not near any AI explosion
For anything using the phrase 'artificial intelligence', a technical basis must be provided for it. As an observer of artificial intelligence for 50 years, none of the things Dr. Marcus mentioned is anywhere near to being implemented. Go back to Descartes with the mind/body conjecture.

I feel like almost every aspect of this conversation was falsified by gpt4.
Nope it wasn't, ChatGPT( 4o) is not intelligent. Its a machiene learning algorithm to output human like chatprompts depending on your input. Some output may seem correct though many outputs are simply completely false so an unreliable word output mahchiene in its current configuration.
