I submitted this list a while ago but I think you might have missed it (apologies if I've missed a video and you have covered it). I thought it made sense in this episode as it shares some general themes with Assault on Lothlorien, but with a different flavour. Warband 1: Durbuz (leader), 3 goblins with shield 3 goblins with spear 1 bat swarm Goblin captain 2 goblins with shield 2 goblins with spear Druzhag 2 goblins with shield 2 goblins with spear 3 fell wargs Spider Queen 2 giant spiders Shadowlord 5 orcs with shield 4 orcs with spear 1 orc with banner, spear and shield 3 orc trackers Shelob 800 pts, 39 models, 3 bows, 12 might There are a few variant builds I've considered, dropping the captain is an option (for better mordor troops, more troops or a second bat) but I think it is useful to have a march in the list. You could also drop shelob in which case I would upgrade the captain to Guritz and take some combo of the above, maybe also some warg riders? But I think having both big spiders as damage options is quite useful. Anyway, the basic idea is to use Druzhag and the beasts to threaten any key targets, perhaps with the idea of faking people out by making them think I'm boosting one of the big spiders when I'm actually planning to boost a normal spider or warg to take out a captain or something similar. Shadowlord provides cover from shooting but also the option to transfix or compel models to expose them to a takedown. Any thoughts on this? I don't have a specific event in mind so this is mostly just theory at the moment. Thanks very much for your input!
I'm glad you guys brought up outshooting the list - I did the math for shooting-heavy lists and comparing their shooting to various archery lists and it's not hard for lists that abuse shooting to get 2-3x the kills in a round than the Assault list can get.
As always, love the podcast! I'd like to submit a list to review. It's a bit different, as I wanted to try out two casters. It's centered around Radagast on Eagle and Gandalf on Horse from Laketown. I liked the idea of adding an additional Eagle since Radagast gives them Resistant to Magic, and I think having Bilbo using the Ring could be sneaky. My initial thoughts were to either have Bilbo or Hilda with additional Warriors, but I'm not sure . The main thing I'd like is to keep the two Wizard's. 800pts, 3 round tournament with vetoes. Let me know your thoughts! You've probably touched upon this in part but at three points levels - say 600, 800 and 1000 - in the hands of a moderately competent player, with a veto scenario modus operandi, which of the three lists recently focused on (Assault on HD; Assault on LL; Dragon Emperor's LL) is best - and are there any better ones at these three levels than these three lists? So sort of a summary of recent podcasts if you like.
In the meager defense of enraging Wild Wargs, they're best enraged against a Warrior model that's in a strategic position (like if they've wrapped around a banner or have double-charged some warriors guarding an objective when there's someone else contesting the objective). Bats and Spiders (or my boy, the WWC) are usually much, MUCH better options, but occasionally, the Wargs are the only models that can get to something valuable.

I'm planning on running the following Mordor + Dark Denizens list for an upcoming 650 point tournament: Mouth of Sauron [Leader] w/ Armoured Horse 6x Morrannons w/ Shields 6x Orcs w/ Shields, Spears 1x Tracker Gorbag w/ Shield 1x Drummer 5x Morrannons w/ Shields 5x Orcs w/ Shields, Spears 1x Tracker Kardush 2x Morrannons w/ Shields 2x Orcs w/ Shields, Spears 4x Trackers The Spider Queen = 115 1x Bats = 35 2x Mirkwood Spiders = 40 Comes to 40 models @ 650pts. We don't know the scenarios, and there's no veto. I've been using the spider queen paired with a ringwraith lately, and it's been working well, but I want to get more might, while keeping numbers. I thought I'd downgrade to the mouth of sauron to afford Gorbag, and see how it goes. I also have a drummer and march to move quickly. What do you think of the list, and can you suggest any improvements?
Of note, shroud of shadows doesnt let you move through models It removes your control zone, and lets enemies move through YOU, but it doesnt let you move through THEM. You can go through a gap the size of your base, without being tagged by enemy control zones. It doesnt let you jump over enemy models, so all youve gotta do is make sure theres no spider sized gaps in your line
Page 103 (of the latest rulebook, so if you have the previous one, this may be covered by the FAQ) - "Whilst invisible, the target ignores enemy Control Zones and may move through friendly and enemy models, providing they do not end their move overlapping any part of another model's base".
I'm planning on going to my first tournament since around 2006 - I took a long break but also only ever attended 1 tournament back when I was playing before I have played 5 games of MESBG since coming back and want to throw myself into the deep end early- this is a 600-point mordor list I'm planning on taking to a tournament in a month. The basic logic of this list is to play with a fel-beast ringwraith (Kamuel) and a horse ringwraith (Witch King) to get experience playing both at the same time and adding the mouth of Sauron so I can do a triple dog shot attack of x3 channeled instill fear or Sap will from Kammuel and a channeled transfixes but also having redundancy if I get unlucky. I have chosen a small contingent of black numenorians because people say they are good for Mordor but I have not included Moron orcs (morannon orcs) as I think they look stupid and I would rather the pure orc. From watching your and others list building videos & tips videos I have included a march + another character to heroic move and tried to create something fast but also able to fight in a like with the capability to use monstrous attacks, flying, flanking and magic mechanics. Quick note on Saruman: magical powers also have the 12" limitation, so he'll need to be within 12" of Ashrak to target him with Immobilize
