You don't have to convince me Jackson! But unfortunately, you have to convince my cat.
Try Naturally Fresh cat litter made from Walnut Shells. It's like clay litter, it clumps and works with automatic litter boxes. My cats did not even have to adjust to it, they immediately liked it.
There’s also a lot of like corn-based litters I tried that with my cat it did a really great job and he seem to have no problems but he’s not a very picky boy
Our cat won't even look or use anything other than Dr. Esley cat litter. She peed wherever she want before using what she was raised on. She was a rescue from the others not using this.
True
@@teriswallick2625 Same here. 40 lbs will last at least a couple of months, especially if you clean it daily. Unscented is the best Dr. Esley cat litter EVER!
We use pine bedding pellets since they are so much cheaper. We pay $7.99 per 40lb bag and it turns to dust.
Yes!!! We switched 4 years ago!
@@Margar02 The only thing I dislike it that it turns to dust quickly and my cats are crazy scratchers and it ends up everywhere. One of my kitty’s doesn’t really get how to bury his business and will scratch everywhere except the litter.
i use horse pellets, bought at tractor supply for around 7.00 for 40 lbs bag. when peed on it turns back to pine saw dust. green bag has silhouette pic of horse, rabbit and cat on it
Me too!
My cats will pee in it but won't poop in it⁉️ After they pee they won't cover it either. It's like they don't like the feel of it or something. I think I'll try it again because I'm low on litter ... maybe I'll mix it with their regular litter and try it that way.🤔
Same!
Same here!
I use pine pellets.. even tried convincing an older woman in the line to switch. She said “he’s picky, he doesn’t like smells” I said it’s tree, scent free, smells like someone cut down a tree..
You should have replied to her, " then how can he stand you??" 😂😂😂
@gerdsfargen6687 that's very rude and it's not funny. If a kid comes up to you and said you're ugly. You would feel hurt. Instant karma will get you for being rude
Thanks so much! Here's some suggestions if anyone needs them & these are just a few...
There's Feline Pine, made of Pine Tree. Good News, made of old newspapers into pellets. World's Best Cat litter is made completely of corn 🌽. These are just a few natural liters. Happy Easter 🐣 🚫💩🐈🐈⬛️
Happy wood pellet user here!! 😊
I was reluctant to change at first bc ive had cats my entire life and have always used cly litter, but about a year ago i started using the wood pellets from Tractor supply and have not looked back! ❤️
Same here! Switched to pine pellets a little over a year ago and LOVE them! No more flinging litter that’s tough to clean up around the boxes.
I kept one clay litter box for nighttime for my senior boy who turns 16 this year because I thought he wouldn’t like the change. But after 2-3 months, took that one away and he is fine with the pellets. Plus, it’s SO much cheaper for my 3 cat household.
And the smell is better!
My cats love “world’s best cat litter”. It’s flushable. Completely natural. Made of corn.
I use pine pellets for my cat Daisy! 🌎🐈
Daisy gave birth to 6 kittens last night! I’ve been so excited telling everyone all day! 🤩🥹🐈 3 patches and 3 stripes 💕
Oh my god!!! My cat is Daisy and we use pine pellets too! I was like "did I comment this?"
Congrats on the kittens!
@@Margar02 😆 thank you! Hope your Daisy is doing well!
I use this corn litter. I don't know if it's better but it smells nicer than clay.
I love your videos and your love for all cats and kittens
Aww me too
We used to use clumping litter years ago. When we decided to finally adopt cats again, we went to paper pellets. Our male cat has allergies, so we have to get unscented, and the regular unscented clay litter smells awful after a few days with cleaning the box several times a day. The paper pellets last a full week before we need to change it. No smell and no tracking litter through my house.
What do you do with the used when you change it out? I haven't had a cat in years, so haven't kept up with new litters. Thanks.
I use biodegradable bags to toss out the litter. I remove the waste, let it dry out, and then toss it out. I've read you can also compost it, but you should only use it in decorative beds, not vegetable beds.
I will definitely have to let my sister know about this natural litter and hopefully everyone will be on board 😊😊😊😊😊😊
🌱🐱🌿
We use Tofu litter and it's flushable!
Muito obrigado!!!!para vc tambem feliz diada Terrra!!!👏👏👏👏
HAPP EARTH DAY EVERYONE ❤🎉
Aww thanks and the same to you!
Yes, Hapless Earth Day 😊
Thanks Jackson for the info. I’m happy to see you. ❤❤😂😂
Just switched over last year. I like it just the same and more importantly my two cat buddies like it too. 😊
Love the fit 🔥
I like naturally fresh. Made from walnut shells. Has a nice earthy odor to it.
Where do you get your at?
I changed to eco litter a few years ago - and it was not only a huge success and so much better for the environment - I also get to schlepp smaller bags home, as the litter is not as heavy.
Happy earth day.
Happy Earth Day🎉 I use natural litter about 25 years ❤ 😺
Feline pine litter.
Yes! I use a corn cob litter. It is the best
.....
I used corn cob litter for 3 cats. It works well, they like it, and it is Earth Friendly.
just beware of mold on the litter in the box, I use a combination of walnut shell and grass seed clumping litter
@@Lithaldatwinyeah! heard about the mold issue with corn... same here with the grass/ glad I'm not alone... it's nice & soft/fine and not much dust
Good information, I had no idea clay litter did that.
This is a very good tip actually
💖💖💖
Get the pine pellets, or some people call it bedding for small critters.. it’s absolutely wonderful and cheap 40 lb bag cost about 10-12 bucks…
Then I just sprinkle & mix it with diatomaceous earth food grade powder. 👍
I used dirt.... no smell, no mess, and could use it in the garden. Plain old dirt indoors. With a large box, much larger than the average tray.
This is actually a great idea
It's not recorded to use cat feces in a garden. I think it is because of the diseases cats can carry. Please look it up. I do remember reading it's bad to grow food in.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
My cats fertilze my garden ... The most eco friendly you can get 😝
Happy earth day. My cat and I are fortunate to be in a rural area of an island so I use soil from our land for the litter box when he is indoors at night 😻
anyone could use soil.
Thank you Jackson. I didn't think about the litter.🙀😸
My wife and I switched to a paper litter for our kitties over a year ago and it's so much nicer to be able to put it all in a yard waste bin. 😄
Happy Earth Day Jackson!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My boy was a stay almost 10 years ago, the only time i have ever got him to use a litter is the few times i moved and had him locked in for a month or so, still got 2 litters handy in the home but he ALL NATURAL
Yes! I've been using Skoon and it is made from healthier ingredients than the chemical ridden clay litter.
Oh never knew that.
Wood pellets work GREAT !! Clean coompostable healthy litter
Clay is natural
It won't break down like Jackson said, it will fossilize. Perhaps he should've use the word biodegradable instead.
Why does natural litter cost 3 times as much as clay?
Clay is natural. Some land is clay.
@@JNoMooreNumbers That's what I thought.
@@charleneweege7149natural stuff is always more expensive lol. Like veggie bags being more than plastic sandwich bags
@@lessismore8533 I think it's a scam
I love the Substantially Yours cat litter! Thank you, Jackson Galaxy, for the introduction to an incredible product!
I use cat litter made out of walnut shells, biodegradable and my cat transitioned perfectly. It's actually quite cheap, too, you can get a 26lb bag for $25, and cats dont have much issue transitioning to it due to the same texture, AND it also clumps!
I use the pine litter too
Happy caterday ❤
Pea husk or tofu litter is litter-ally the best I've tried. It can clump really strongly, it doesn't track much, it controls smells really well, and it's nigh dust free.
SMH - News to me 😊
I thought he said Happy Birthday for a moment
Great tip 👍Happy Earth Day, everyone 💞🌎🌏🌍💞
i started using corn litter a couple years ago. less dust, and the smell is much better.
What a great Earth Day PSA!!!! I use grass litter, it does track a bit ,but luckily we have a vacuum robot to help with keep it clean. I also am able to flush the poo so it's processing in the waste plant and not in the land fill😂
Edit: wanted to add, never have I ever used clay litter, and coincidentally, we also don't have respiratory or urinary tract issues, something to think about
Recommendations, or better still, a comparison video of the different brands would be so helpful! I've tried both corn and paper (for six weeks each, plus the switching over period), and all I got for my trouble was a lot of poop and pee not in the litterbox. I would be happy to switch if I could find one that my cats were willing to use, but I don't really want to spend another year plus in clean up misery. :(
😭
Any change needs to be gradual. Start by mixing just a little bit of the new litter in with the old, give them some time to get used to it, then gradually, very slowly, increase the amount of new litter to old until it's all new.
Also make sure the new litter doesn't have any added fragrance, most cats dislike scented products.
@@autumn2859 Thank you for the suggestion, but we did switch over a period of four weeks (and then tried six weeks of each kind of litter unadulterated by the clay litter they were used to). And we have never used scented litter (both for our kitties’ sakes and my own). That’s why I would love to know what types of environmentally decent litter other people have found to work well; because it gets expensive and exhausting to keep trying and failing to find the particular type that my cats will be willing to use.
Hello and Happy Earth day to you and the fam, fyi, i always say a prayer for your guys/girls, and a special one for sweet caroline❣️🙏 from my guys/girls and i
Also love and Respect to all our pets and thier fams to!! Be safe and good health to all!!🐈🐕🐈⬛🦜
I use paper cat litter I love it . Cleaned our regularly there's no smell .
Tip for anyone wanting to switch litter. Put some pee soaked litter on top of new litter. My cat went straight from clay to wood pellets first try. She had never gone anywhere but her litter box (except when she cut her bum open on a bramble outside) or in HER garden. She is trained to stay within the boundary.
I live in a tiny apartment. No spare rooms. I’ve tried the wheat and corn. One cat thinks it’s d
Food. It also tracks everyplace. All over their coats. It also gets in my eyes and nose when scooping.
I got goggles. Will try newspaper.
Open to ideas.
Thx ❤
Happy Earth Day 🌎 to Jackson and all of the other cat lovers out there! I Don’t use clay litter but that’s great to know! I really like the “cat eating cucumber”post. I think a lot of us did. Lots to talk about. We learn so much from you! Thank You!🙏 And we learn from each other! That’s not ALWAYS accurate, present company included, but we learn a lot and enjoy discussing our feline friends.👍♥️
My cat uses natural liter and soil.
I use the cat litter that looks like crystal's.. All I have to do is scoop the poop out and put it in a bag and stir it until the pee gets stired around.. I love this litter because it never smells..
I don't use clay litter anymore. My favorite right now is ground walnut shells. It breaks down really well and it is easy to scoop. I throw it at the end of my yard where a wooded lot starts. After awhile it is gone unlike clay litter
Love Catit Litter pea pellets
That's why i use trepellets and glad the breeder i got my kitten from, used it too 😊 Happy Earth day to all fellow cat parents!
Happy Earth Day 🌎 ❤ i will try but i do use clay, but most of them go outside
I use wheat litter. 😊
Soy litter is really cool
Toilet train them. But one of my cats pees sideways. So its a giant dog litter box. 😂
Okay. ! It’s worth a shot . 🤗
I had no idea re the litter! We use recycked newspaper &/or dtraw pellets.. the kitns dig it.
uh oh! hope I'm doing it right! mine go in a clumping sorghum grass litter
Ive tried changing litter before many times and every time, even if I'm changing to a different clumping litter, my cats just use the floors as their litter box. They like one and only one brand. Im not sure what I'm gonna do if they ever discontinue it. The municipality I live in takes litter with the compost, so im pretty sure its incinerated.
I used to go outside and collect the fall leaves all over the place for cat litter, I might go back to doing that, it's a little stinker but my cats actually prefer it over regular litter
Honestly, we switched a bit ago, and it’s so much better. It’s lighter, contains smell better (imo), and clumps just as well. Love it
Happy Earth Day!!
Yes Happy Earth Day!!!
We had a cat for over 19 years, and she never used cat litter. She went out a window we left open for her, did her business, and came back in the window. Once the window was shut...she used the drain for the bathtub. She never had an accident anywhere else in the house.
Spread on lawn & covered with fresh grass clippings simple clay goes bye-bye. It composts, but may slow down the cook a bit. Just when your compost heap gets close to spontaneous combustion, that weekly layer puts the brakes on. The fancy stuff kills the bacteria.
Fun fact: for many years a major producer of clay based "shop dry" and kitty litter was Mounds, Illinois.
I love my Cat genie! It has a litter like substance but it's washable and reusable. And automatic!
I did this with my girls and switched to a natural corn husk little from Arm and hammer it was great! and it was also flushable but one of my girls did NOT like it at all and the litter I switched to that clumpt she didn't like either. Ya know for over 10 years I just got what ever litter I wanted too and that cat pissed on the floor for years. But when I changed back to a 80s clay litter she finally went in the box again! I was the one who was wrong and bad it was never the cat! Xena just wanted plan clay litter. So Make those Fossils!
THAT SURELY SOUNDS LIKE MY CAT !!!!
Back at you. Keep the Earth from warming...
We don't want to loose the big cats!
Check out PBS, Documentary on first Earth Day...1970. want to see how damn many predictions, warnings are already here?
It will shock you. 💗😼
HAPP EARTH DAYYY :DD
Can you recommend a good natural litter and give suggestions how to get them to have a positive switch to it. I have a very stubborn senior citizen
What do we need cat litter for? Next door has a Perfectly good garden.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Easier said than done.
we use dirt. Nice big plastic container filler with clay/compost/sand. Harvest and tossed into plastic trash can to decompose
Happy earth day!
You see, my cat is trained to use the restroom outside, we call her a fertilizer sometimes
Me in the clay litter box: 😹 😿 ok, mom, just get the natural litter, no more clay
What are brands you recommend or a place to start? I would love to switch but don’t know how.
I use corn cob litter all my cats love it. Clay litter is actually harmful to cats as they can ingest it and clog their intestines
I use Feline Pine made from wood scrap from furniture manufacturers. Also there's Yesterday's News made from old newspapers. I originally started using them after adopting my cat and found she dealt with upper respiratory infection (and she has the kind that can come back), so to help her with preventing sneezing and coughing I switched from dusty clay to these. Hope this helps.😊
I use OkoCat litter it comes in a box not a bag and multiple textures.
I love this litter. my cats, not so much. so I mix it with a grass littler that makes me cough. the things we do for our cats ❤
my cats go outside,
Maybe its because going outside is more natural to them,
Considering they are ferral 😂
HAPPY EARTH DAY JACKSON & MRS. GALAXY !! 😊
Happy Earth Day Jackson and everyone ♥️
My cat uses the toilet and then comes to tell me I need to flush it for her. She's such a smart kitty
Hi jackson! Bentonite is natural? That litter is amazing…
Happy Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day! My cat took to Sustainably Yours litter with no problems.🌎
