The most eloquent and moving tribute to an American Hero by a great actor. Vietnam Veterans have always been vilified by an uncaring media. God bless you all.

А на войне нет белых и пушистых. Любые желающие повоевать должны помнить, что завтро их правительство изменится, признает ошибку, но они останутся теми солдатами, которые убивали, грабили носиловали... Это сейчас происходит и с Россией.🤔

Gil your artistry was exquisite as always. Thank you for making the story heartfelt, and beautiful. The true emotions on your face and your hug to our hero and his son were priceless. Blessings for you to have a great night and safe travels back home. You were at least on EST like me for a change.

Birmingham spent some quality time with Native American veterans at this event. It wasn’t a quick hand shake and disappear, it appeared to be a meaningful conversation. I really appreciated that.

I am a desert storm veteran, and when we came back, we had heard of all the support that was waiting for us back home in the United States. My unit was mostly Hispanic handful of white soldiers, and a handful of black soldiers but they’re still my brothers and sisters no matter what, color and race doesn’t matter. We are all the same but as we got back to the states, we landed in Maine of all places, a plane full of Mexicans in Maine of all places lol as the plane docked, and they open the door there were soldiers from previous wars lined up in the tunnel mostly Vietnam veterans And as we walked past them and they shook our hands and we got into the crowd of the airport, thunderous applause and welcome home signs beer and cookies were given to us. Kids were given to us to take pictures with babies, etc. but what I will take to my grave, and as I write this, I am crying, a man rolled his wheelchair over to me, and he tugged on my weapon that I was carrying my M-16. It startled me, and I turned, and I looked in his face as he looked at me. I could see this man’s soul through his eyes, and he said these words that I’ll take to my grave, I’m dying you know I said excuse me, he said son I just wanted to say welcome back and I’m dying it threw me for a loop. It knocked me down to my core. He said agent orange is finally going to do me in. I don’t have much time to live, but I had to see with my own eyes what I should’ve got when I got home from my war I tell you all I could do was get on my knees I level with this hero hug and kiss his forehead and tell him thank you for your service every time I see a veteran I don’t care what war I think them for their service. If it’s at a restaurant, I’ll even buy their meal for them. If they’re putting gas I’ll pay for their gas. I have the means but never forget our heroes that gave everything so we could have our lives today.

As a USAF Nurse I saw & cared for many men who survived because of incredible Medics & Corpsmen. 90% would survive if treated in field & airevaced to Mash or main hospital within one hour of injuries. I've had quite a few compliments aimed at me & I always respond with " thank you but the Medics & Corpsmen deserved that". They were absolutely incredible in their skill, bravery & courage , all the while being terrorized. My heart just burst watching this & listening to his words. Thanks for the phenominal eyewash you just gave me & the honor of helping men you saved survive.

I was a medic with the 23rd Infantry División in Vietnam, I survived and went on to realize my dream of becoming a pharmacist. I went on to serve the Lakota people on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. I’m retired now and very proud of my service.
