This is a weird PPV to me. Of course the main and co-main are great and we’re getting two title fights but the rest of the card is lacking star power imo. Dana is for sure going to be able to use these PPV buys as a bargaining chip when negotiating with Francis. Historically HW PPVs do well but when you pair them with a flyweight title and a bunch of smaller fights I don’t think it’s going to be as big as it could’ve been. I’m betting this one does 500k buys or less.
ESPN mma needs to watch today’s press conference. No scripts, no rigidity. Mostly independent (or 2-person team) journalists running the Q&A, and for once it came across refreshing and organic. These pre-fight interviews, and post fight press conferences are god awful.
