Hi everyone:) i did another joe goldberg edit with s2 in case you want to check it out, would mean a lot for me having your feedback on that❤ thanks for watching:)
Very good actor, but the book just goes deeper into his character. Every word, every way he describes her is chilling. He seems so calm when writing the fact that he never stalks her, that its a "necessity" to watch her. He never finds what he's doing to be creepy, but he does understand how others can. Idk. I'm almost done with the book but I have to take breaks because the amount of insanity that comes out in words are just too much for me sometimes. Sometimes it gets me emotional that he's that broken and psychotic, and he isn't even aware of it.
The fact that people don’t even know that this brilliant book even exists speaks volumes about our society, the book is so much better and Netflix has to go and fuck it all up and change the original story, so much was missing it’s actually frustrating
He's a manipulative psychopath, who's trying to find and cope the lack of love he got as a child in relationship love. He obviously will never find that exact type of love, since they are two very different type of loving. His therapist even says that he is a person who is waiting to be loved. He will keep on killing, because he will never ever be able to replace the lack of care he had as a child. He plays his role in the relationship, and will do anything to keep this relationship going, because that is a substitute, of his missing childhood, and he won't let anything get in the way of that. Just my take on things. :)
"Love isn't a strong enough word.. Sometimes it scares me - to love someone so completely and not have them love you back." That hit right in the feels.
lmao all the people in the comments are like "I'm so worried people are sympathizing with him". So many people sympathizing and liking joe just proves that show portrayed a "perfect" type psychopath - a manipulative, crazy person who can make you feel bad for him even tho you know he's done so many bad things. It's as if joe manipulates the audience, not other characters and tbh props to the actor for playing such complex, layered and interesting (not in a good way) character so perfectly.
Holly Schulz how is this video romanticizing Joe? It’s goes deeper into his character and how messed up he is and shows different sides to him. Because no one’s just born evil, they become it
Joe was blind by what he felt for Beck. His love, his way of loving, his concept of love was subliminal. He didn’t deserve Beck. Beck was just like Peach and Benji; ordinary, empty and selfish. Great amv btw👏🏼👏🏼 keep it up!!
Yeah Joe's character is really complicated and it's really hard for most people to understand his reasons and think the only person who can love joe in the way that he desrves is only someone who's complicated like him anyways thanks for watching I'm glad you like the video:)
Not really, joe never loved beck he loved the idea of beck. And because he turns into a psychopathic murderer who breaks into womens home and sniffs their underwear.
nothing about joes character is 'complicated'. he was just a psychopath who was incapable of actual love and couldnt differentiate between love and obsession. psychopaths arent capable of love. he was the empty and selfish one here. theres nothing more or less to joes character than to the fact that he was a psychopath and its because the show is from his point of view that people tend to think his thought process was subject to analysis, but there is nothing different about joe than most psychopaths like him.
@@heavyhandedheart777 I think you are wrong Joe helped paco and elle Joe become like this because of his past and the fact Candace cheated on him broke him he did care for Beck he was blind and crazy for her and Beck cheated on her made him a monster i know what he has done is wrong but if Joe is wrong so is his father and the old men who took him in , Candace , Beck all made him this way
I personally think that Joe is made to be a complex tragic hero. On one hand he is a charming and unique individual who is capable of intensely loving someone. And I really admire that. However, as we've seen throughout the show, he shows all these psychopathic tendencies. His tragic flaw is really just his tragic backstory, which I think is used by the director to help the audience sympathise and understand the reasons as to why he behaves this way. Overall, he is perhaps more of an antihero than a tragic hero. At the end of the day, I thoroughly enjoyed delving into Joe's mind, as well as the plot (minus the Peach plot, because it seemed too Riverdale season 2ish for my liking).
Really great edit. I found it so weird that I had so much sympathy and empathy with Joe, even though he did horrible things. I think it's a great move from the directors to let Joe tell us his story. Everything he does, he does for love - but what he does is more than wrong. Really twistet character. If you do another edit, listen to the song: I'll be good from Jaymes Young. The lyrics fit so perfectly on Joe's character and mindset. ... My past has tasted bitter for years now So I wield an iron fist Grace is just weakness Or so I've been told I've been cold, I've been merciless But the blood on my hands scares me to death Maybe I'm waking up today I'll be good, I'll be good And I'll love the world, like I should I'll be good, I'll be good For all of the light that I shut out For all of the innocent things that I doubt For all of the bruises I've caused and the tears For all of the things that I've done all these years Yeah, for all of the sparks that I've stomped out For all of the perfect things that I doubt ...
it's easy to sympathise and empathise with Joe because he's such an unreliable narrator, making other people look just as bad as him, victimising himself sometimes. that's what sociopaths are good at, they manipulate and make you feel for them. it's twisted and complex but super interesting
This is so well done omg 💓 - and to touch on people romanticizing him, the bad guy is often played by someone physically attractive ie: Evan Peters or Cody Fern in AHS, and Penn himself is really good looking imo so I think that makes it easier for people to over look how problematic his character really is
Fantastical job!!! This shows what a person could do just to get love, I don’t think joe is a psychopath, he’s a good guy, a good person, he just took the wrong path, the wrong way and the wrong decisions, his love obsession took him over the edge and made him the murderer we see, unfortunately beck dies but as we see in the end, he feels bad about it, he killed the person he loves and he feels guilty, he’s a good person, but he went to far to get love and just like Icarus, he flew to close to the sun and burned down
I like the way you see it, too many people jump to conclusions but i think joe is an amazing character and probably not like everyone else thats why so many people disagree with his reasons
All the romantising a stalker/ criminal stuff aside. Some of us acknowledge that. We get it. He is bad. But you feel bad for Joe too. The fact that he's the man he is. What he has to do to feel close to someone. To feel their love. To love them. All he wants is to be love and protect the person he loves. Unfortunately his past trauma and the way he was raised made his mental state this way. He has issues. For his issues, I feel bad for him. He unknowingly suffers by his own hands.
Ok y'all..... Sociopath=Made, Psychopath=Born. Joe Goldberg had a bad childhood, and although not strongly, he can feel empathy to a point. In season 1, he gives Paco the food he just bought and then he is shown eating a canned food once inside his apartment. Next we see him helping Ellie in season 2, he feels she deserves a parental figure and even becomes one for a while. If it hadn't been for Ellie, Joe would not have thought twice about killing Delilah. All in all, Joe does get empathy points, as well as his very obvious knowledge to differentiate right from wrong. Psychopaths only care about what benefits them, so they do have a form of empathy, or 'perceptive taking' as it were. Joe does manipulate frequently, most often to get what he wants, but when it comes to kids, there is no doubting that his ability to feel empathy goes beyond the cognitive point. And logically speaking, he is a tv character without any real diagnosis(And even in real life couldn't get one because psychopathy isn't a diagnosis.) In a way, Joe relates to psychopaths, sociopaths and codependency. Hell, even multiple personalities. And the script of the show presents him in a way that we could never 100 percent say. Penn Badgley thinks his character is a sociopath, though. I must say though, this is a very interesting debate and I would look to hear the opinion of the writer.
This video is so great. I enjoy the show a lot but I just found Joe really creepy. His whole mindset about love made me uncomfortable. I know he thinks he was doing things for Beck's welfare but he's really twisted. He is manipulative and tried to control the situation in his favor. He tried to be a perfect boyfriend and isolated Beck from a lot of people to the point he even murdered a few people in her life. He didn't think about Beck's feelings or that he should have given her space or room to grow for herself. He made Beck the center of his life when he should also think about his own. Though normally other people wouldn't really bother that much with the story since Beck also had a lot of flaws in their relationship including her cheating with her therapist. I guess both of them aren't just healthy for one another. I'm glad the other girl got away.
Bruh i have sympathy foe joe cause of his childhood and how it made him who he is today and how he justifies everything he does for love when all he wants is a happy family because he never had one
This is the absolute BEST edit I have ever seen in my life. The scenes, the voiceover, the song... Everything flows perfectly, and pulls at your heart the entire time.
the sad part is that he is not a bad person, but he is sick, mentally ill, he is not normal but he is not a bad person, cause a bad person does things knowing that they are bad, he trully thinks that what he is doing is okey, he does not deserve to die or go to jail, he need to go to a mental institucion cause he is obviously not okey
It's scary how much I feel like I relate to Joe.. he's one of my most favorite characters cause I feel like I can connect to him and relate to him more than anyone else.
i think half of the people that watched this show didn’t actually got why he was a “psycho”. He was threatened brutally and that’s exactly how he grew up, i mean they showed us in the flashbacks and he also told that to Paco. He wasn’t a psycho. He didn’t want to do those things. That’s what he learned to do while growing up and he got used to it, thinking it was normal. He loved Beck. He actually did.
Loving someone doesn’t excuse literally murdering them?? He killed multiple people and he always tried to change the women he loved into people they weren’t so that they could fulfill his crazy romantic fantasy. This type of dialogue is dangerous because it allows people to excuse delusional guys like this with the same mindset.
@@Diana72910 I wrote this a year ago and telling people to shut up isn’t exactly indicative of a mature and calm mindset so perhaps you should take your own advice. also no way it’s a show?! Joe isn't phyco , he's just a man so lost and desperate to find the perfect love that he read in books as a child . So he'll do anything to get it , A perfect romantic story....
Honestly, when the season ended, I was torn between two kinds of Joe. Either he was a man who had bad luck in relationships and just wanted a good one with no problems, no reminders of past relationships, no bs. Or he was a manipulative psychotic man who would stop at nothing in the end for the one he loved. I think that he’s both but, what he did was just... upsetting
Absolutely fantastic edit! Thoroughly enjoyed thanks! BTW. My opinion? People are diverse. A collection of memories, experiences and genetics that all play a part in their world view. It's why there's over 7 billion of us on this planet and somehow we all have our own identity. It doesn't matter that the show is about a sociopath serial killer or some aspiring writer. The show is great because it gives us a look inside the mind of someone on the far end of the human spectrum. Ever person's story is unique. I love this story because of that. You reading this right now have your own story to tell. Maybe it's a good one or one of sadness and loss. Whatever your story, it's worth knowing. Perspective is everything, that's what "You" does so well.
Bro just made his own sense of love he never actually knew the meaning of love rather he made up what he thought it was because he never had it when he was a child and because of that he sculptured his own ideology and his own sense of love which was toxic

Oh love ur edits..u stole hearts ..who love the songs too..#joeandbeck
Thank you so much for watching ❤
i love this wow
I may or may not be in love with him
psychopathic tv show but so nice
“Only one thing good in my life right now is therapy” that’s where I know she cheated on joe. Goddamn.
Who is joe? I only know Dan Humphrey
If he wasn't a murderer ✨️✨️
If you’re making any more Joe edits, I would recommend using the song Away from me by Chinah, reminds me of him so much 🥀
Ok thanks ❤ I'll keep that in mind:)
Hes just insanely attractive goodnight
is everyone in here okayy??
Honestly, when the season ended, I was torn between two kinds of Joe. Either he was a man who had bad luck in relationships and just wanted a good one with no problems, no reminders of past relationships, no bs. Or he was a manipulative psychotic man who would stop at nothing in the end for the one he loved. I think that he’s both but, what he did was just... upsetting
1:25 hit
If you think about it him and Clay Jensen are the same person minus the doing whatever it takes to keep the girl👀👀
wow i love this, good job
LOVE QUINNN
she is better
Shannah the ninja/neko I love her
Exijo un edit así de genial con la canción de "Serial Killer" de Lana del Rey de fondo :)
I lovee hiiimmmmm
Si no fuera un psicópata sera ideal
Sociopata*
I think a "you" video with the song, "song seven" by Interpol would be sort of epic.
Joe reminds me so much of Norman bates from phycho..... 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Brasil, 2024.
There are some good things about Joe in the show but the book is the opposite, the creepiest....
damn
Trul love
Bro just made his own sense of love he never actually knew the meaning of love rather he made up what he thought it was because he never had it when he was a child and because of that he sculptured his own ideology and his own sense of love which was toxic
What is the red car he drives? What make is it?
I hate that therapist
This should be the trailer and instead.
Joe as a character is a terrible abusive psychopath who needs to be stopped but the actor who plays him ? 😜🤤👀
He's not abusive, he's a overprotective psychopath.
DexPlays he murdered several people to get close to a woman, manipulated her and then murdered her sounds like abuse to me
