That is a prime example of a pout video because he is expecting to magically pull the $1,600 art lono card and dendra I pulled both cards out of 7 packs that were left in an open box at my local card shop except for the Raichu card which I will buy it as a single I am pretty much done with that set not saying it's bad at all but I am looking forward to obsidian flame

Hell ya! I remember opening an Unified Minds ETB and pulling a basic GX, that wasn’t even playable. This was also when prices weren’t insane so I could’ve just bought any card from the set but wanted to play spin the wheel 😂

I stopped watching him when he tried to claim he did not manipulate the values of Full Art Trainers when the link between his video and the sudden increase was undeniable. If he owned up to it and said it was not his intention... okay fine. However to just lie about it? Unacceptable.
I like the negative criticism. Some creators are better than others. But you gotta collect how you see fit. Don’t care what others have to say. Take everything with a pinch of salt. You are your own person. Don’t let others tell you what you can or can not do.
I think you have a really good point. I’m actually so glad that Pokémon seems to have been able to self-correct their own market and allows for children and older collectors alike to be able to have an easier financial time acquiring some of their favorite cards. Ever since 2020 and beyond, Pokémon really took off and I think Scarlet and Violet has finally brought the TCG market prices back down to earth. SV and its future sets will definitely weed out the true collectors vs. “investors”, “influencers”, etc. Great video as per usual Opossum!
Exactly, they’re trying to ensure the longevity of the hobby with plenty of product for kids and players, they keep the hobby alive when the investments leave 👍🏽
@@OpossumBud Love this mindset, it’s what drew me to Pokémon in the first place. The hobby was never about money when we collected cards on the playground as kids, we just wanted to collect what we liked. Same holds true now 👍
Though that is true and I applaud Pokemon for increasing supply, the thing is that main sets from here on out will be bigger. SV base only had two JP sets and a few promos, Paldea Evolved has Three sets and a few more promos. So what we saw with SV is more of the exception rather than the norm. TPCi had mitigated the size a bit by making some card promos and if they are playable even more promos which is cool for those alternate art collectors.

In all honestly i think his problem for not liking the set has more to do with the investment aspect with it especially with the scarlet and violet series a booster box is almost certainly guaranteed a special art making the cards more available for everybody. For someone who is more of a collector of trying to complete sets this is a blessing open a couple of booster boxes and buy the rest as singles. I like this new change but i guess he doesnt.

The Scarlet and Violet sets have been great for collectors and shitty for scalpers so that’s a win in my book lol. I have fun opening a bunch on release and then buying singles afterwards.

I got really lucky with my first 9 packs -- I'm still waiting for my ETB but I got the Iono which wasn't really on my list and then eiscue and one of the tinkatink cards. It feels the same as SV base tbh -- if I wanted guaranteed rarity pulls etc then I would just empty my bank account on 1 of the new Japanese Booster boxes, instead of buying significantly cheaper english products occasionally. also -- if the pull levels were Evolving cries or Chilling pain / Fusion strike level then people would be complaining as well. I think SV is changing that slightly which is great, I love getting the reverses and at least a holo -- it's a good improvement alongside the pull rate. Juat a last thing -- this is the only way we can still gamble in pokemon after they had to remove the game corners from the video games lmao so yeah not everyone is going to hit that jackpot everytime and I think we forget that sometimes, me included.
Man, as a collector and content creator I am LOVING the new sets. Beautiful artwork and great pull rates mean that I get a chance to add some nice looking cards to my son's binder, my wife's binder, and my personal binder! And during my streams, it's not like opening up a booster box from SWSH where you MIGHT get an alt art, with SV and PAL you're guaranteed at least one SAR. This type of batching is great for collectors who want to have a better chance at pulling nice looking art and the kids who this hobby was invented for.
I cried a little when I heard “ETBs Suck” while looking at a Evolving Skies Etb I’ve kept sealed. Knowing that it possibly only has 2 hits out of 8 packs
I love the pull rates honestly and am happy this set is beefier. One thing I didn't like about S&V base was pulling the same exact card over and over again (although I still LOVED that set). Great video PE is great. As someone thats favorite Pokemon happens to be Magikarp, I love the hunt so far and the SIR/IRs they are amazing in this set. (121 packs in) Evolving Skies was impossible because of the pull rates.
I bought my son 3 ETB's and he pulled plenty of great cards. The last box had the Iono Alt Art, which is a beautiful card in person tbh. But he got his chase card, the Skeledirge Full Art, so he was stoked even before pulling Iono. Jake just needs to be happy to be opening packs, enjoy the experience, and be thankful for what he gets. Sometimes you get lots of hits, sometimes you don't. It is what it is 🤷🏽♂️
TwiceBakedJake must have been twice as baked. I opened my booster box earlier this afternoon. 2 Ultra Rares (Noivern & Iono) and 1 Special Illustration Rare (Dendra). Everything else was an Illustration Rare or lower. Edit: And yes, the right side had bigger hits 😂

We opened 3 ETBs, one booster box and 3 booster bundles. We pulled some amazing cards on the channel. I just made a short showing our pulls. We got the Tyranitar and that’s all we care about. This set is great but honestly we’re kinda focused forward on Obsidian 🔥 flames
I opened just one single blister pack just to open it on release day, got a Dendra Full Art trainer. I personally like having rare cards that are tough to pull for the chase. I also finally pulled the moonbreon yesterday and have been chasing it for over a year since getting into the hobby, and as happy as I am about it, it’s also bittersweet the hunt is over.
🤷♂ For the people that actually play the game Paldea evolved has been a great set giving us so many tools and new archetypes to play with. The return of N (in Iono) , Scramble energy (in reversal), and super rod was also very much welcomed in my neck of the woods that benefits almost all decks. Loving this set so far. Almost every pack I crack has something useful in it to me!
As a collector I just buy the singles that I want so I judge sets based off the CARDS in it and not pull rates. And if I ever open packs I go in with the expectations that it's all random and I'm doing it purely for the fun gambling aspect, not to get my "money's worth" because that's never been the case no matter which set you open. Hard to break even when you get the best hits already
I am working a full time job and I don't have time to go crazy buying cards all the time! I'm so glad that pokemon is catering to people like me who don't have a ton of money or time to spend, but still want to get some cool cards for the binder 🤲 I pretty much collect only art rares bc I genuinely love the art. That's what the hobby should be about, the genuine love for it
I’m loving all the new cards Pokémon is releasing and excited for the future sets. I’m currently filling up my standard card binder and my rare / art rare binder. Spent $500+ (booster boxes) thats kinda the only issue for me 😅. half way on completing the set but i think that’s enough for this month.
Yeah the pull rates are great for players this time because of this. At card party this weekend my self and other players were talking about this set. We love it. We also watched the pricing of Iono drop each day too. 😂😂😂
I've been collecting Pokemon cards again recently, and what I like about these newer cards are just the art. I've gotten some pretty cool cards with nice art of some of my favorite pokemon, and just the art for some of the common ones are nice.
I've been opening cases of products. On the grand scheme of thing, the pull rate goes to 3.17 pack for a hit, but if you check pull rate for single product, it is just rough. Also, the amount of diferent card for every rarity went up about 50%, so it's harder to get a specific single cards. But we already know that. W/E.
This video was incredible. Paldea Evolved was an incredible set. I opened about 220 booster packs, and hit the Iono twice, the Pokémon SIRs, and the Tyranitar… Can’t believe that man was crying about opening 50 packs, and saying he wasn’t having a good time just because he didn’t his his chase 😭😭😭😭
LOL I love Paldea evolved, so many hits, so many chases. Sure some cards are harder to pull than others but thats just Pokemon cards in general. I was able to pull 2 Iono SIR's from 7 Bb's and a tyranitar. Didn't pull magikarp but i gotta tell ya, its still fun to open XD
I opened a case of BB's, and of course I'm missing heaps of the Art rares, but I'm more annoyed that I'm still missing 2 reverse holos to complete the set, lol. I did get 2 Iono SIR's, so I'm not complaining. Gives me good trading power at the next meet so I can fill out the set.
Paldea Evolved is one of my favorite sets to open lately. My chases for the set are the Full Art Falkner, Illustrator Eiscue(second favorite Ice Type after Mamoswine), Secret Illustrator Rare Grusha (I just love the art of him being in a cabin in a snowstorm), Grocery Shopping Fuecoco, and any of the Ghetsis Boss’s Orders. But the investment channels pumping up random cards always makes me laugh cause imo opening and collecting cards should be about having fun not oh this card is worth x amount of money.
This set is an Awesome set for the players! It has soo many good card playable cards and really helping the format being more Paldea based I wish the "investment" channels would learn to enjoy the game these basics exs that are like 1 dollar are great for playing with Especially Ting lu , Chien Pao , and the starters!
@DarDarBinks yeah man u can usually build a pokemon deck for less than 100 ! Especially if u have lots of bulk hell their is a new deck that uses like murkrow and wattriel and it's super cheap
These new pull rates are really exposing the investors from the true pokemon fans. I personally don't care if the most expensive card in a set is 10 bucks, that just means every collector gets great cards at a great price.

First ETB I bought had the magikarp, I've loved basically every art piece even got an Aya Kusube. The art these days is so amazing each new set to me looks better than the last. I watched that video too and I'm glad you're speakin on it because it made no sense to me lol.
He does this constantly where if the odds are in his favor he’s like “wow the pull rates are crazy in this set!” But if the rates are bad after like 10 packs he’s like “wow I can’t believe they lowered the pull rates!” 😂
why does pokemon company care about keeping long term value of the cards lol. I mean the shouldn't print it to the literal ground to where they sit on shelves but their main purpose is to make it exciting to kids and sell regularly, not for some 30 somethings to speculate on years down the line.
@@Bionicleforever because kids are a small part of what makes the game as big as it is. They need to have their set have value so that people want to buy it. It maintains the hobby allowing others to gain interest in it too
They aren't doing it for long term value. They are doing it because the experience is interesting enough that it will grow interest in opening cards for people that don't. The potential for value is going to be there, but they just want them to be desirable to begin with.

I love this set! I’m a player and a collector. I’ve opened a case and my only complaint is that within the case the special cards didn’t seem randomized thoroughly. I got 2 Iono Special arts, 2 iono full arts and I got the same Illustration rares in each box respectively. I’m happy with the pull rates overall! I’m more surprised I got so many duplicates of higher rarity cards in a sealed case. Not complaining 😂 can’t wait to crack more! It seems like a box has 4-5 regular ex, 2-3 Full arts, 3-4 Illustration Rares, 1-2 special illustration rares, 0-1 gold cards (a box had 1 gold card and 1 special illustration rare OR 2 special illustration rares)

It's funny because I wasn't going to do Paldea evolved, but seeing TwiceBamkedFlake's comments, it actually sounds like this set might be good. I liked the Scarlet and violet hit rate, but wasn't a big fan of the cards themselves. I thought, why don't they just throw more stuff in here to catch.. these crown zenith-like pull rates are fun, but I want to see more cards that aren't super boring to me. I just don't like the Paldea region Pokemon. Might grow on me.. but I do like that they kept the good pull rates, but expanded the amount of hits. That's the secret sauce Pokemon seems to finally have figured out. We like "chase cards," but we don't want to be able to pull an entire booster box and possibly end up with just a single full art (like early sword and shield). Just load a set... like Crown Zenith Gallery in evolving skies' traner gallery slot. Moonbreon could still be just as difficult to pull as it is now.. but at the end of a BB opening I wouldn't have one decent card and a ton of bulk. If the Galarian Gallery was a subset in evolving skies... that's the kind of sets that I want to see. Tons of hits, but still very hard chases. I honestly can't stand that whole "Jake here and welcome to the hobby." Like he's the hobby. I just can't stand him. He sounds like a whiney little nerd. Just my opinion. I wish I could make his stuff not show up on my feed. Sometimes I click his videos just to cringe. I'll just end my rant here.. but, yes, this video is correct.
Jake has lost touch with reality. To say Silver Tempest is a better opening experience is a bit of a joke when all you want is one card, the artwork on these first two S&V sets have been fantastic with improved pull rates. My son would not be disappointed opening a box of these, he's not driven by greed.

Opened a box of paldea evolved and got a gold super rod, alt wo-chien, tinkaton full art, bellibot full art, forrertress ex with the silver background, 3 character rares and some other standard exs and playable cards. Was the best box opening I've ever had. Can't understand why people are hating on this set
From the openings of S & V sets (base and Paldea) I have seen, I was under the impression that Pokemon had tried to work On a more even distribution of hits rather than change the pull rates too much. Trying to get better consistency overall so you don't need to open thousands of packs as an individual for the odds to even out.....Random side note, I'm not really a plush guy but that Pika-Snorlax is quality and always appreciate the new setup each time to keep an eye out for.
I didn’t know how I was going to feel about it at first, but chien pao and baxcalibur are going into my deck. There’s a lot of really cool cards and the more I was opening, the more I liked it.
I will, i use around 1000 dollars in each new set, tho only opened 2 packs, from a booster box in a store, the last to left, got a Noivern EX, and IONO special illustration rare 😆 So i think im done opening it ✊🏻 Just saying, this never happens, never again 😂🇩🇰❤️
I didn't get any of the big pulls from S&V but still had fun collecting the set. This time round I got 2 tyranitars, 2 SIR ionos, 2 full art ionos, and I have no intention of selling (maybe trading with friends though so they can also get full set eventually).
This is one of those things where wearing your heart on your sleeve would garner a LOT more respect. Also, first time I learned Tyranitar's being featured in this set (I get my first English product this week) and I'm still salty about Battle Styles. Praying. LOL
This set has been a ton of fun for me. I got a great booster box that gave me some version of nearly every Pokemon I collect. I got the Wooper and Mismagius my friend wants, as well as most of the other "chases" we had. PS I agree that Tinkaton is the best in the set.

My pull rate has been terrible but out of the 12 packs I opened so far the only two hits I’ve got are great hits lol, I’ve got the ttar illustration rare and gold superior energy retrieval other than those not even a regular ex

Me and my son ripped 3 booster boxes, 2 etb’s. 3 3pack blisters and a handful of sleeved Paldea this weekend. Were we disappointed by not pulling the SIR Iono, yes, but were we also extremely excited about what we did pull, absolutely. We pulled a ton of great artworks and the only real complaint we had was the twice pulled Chi-yu ex from the same booster box. Keep calling these guys out bro!
I'm really happy with this scarlet and violet era so far. I've opened a fusion strike booster box recently and got like 3 V's from the box. I opened paldea evolved and got so many great artworks. Its just so much more enjoyable to open scarlet and violet right now.
Got absolutely nothing from a few SV ETBs despite the supposed better pull rates. Opened every single Crown Zenith product got some sick pulls but not a single gold card. It just be like that at times.
I was pretty disappointed with my ETB I got a few days ago, ngl lol I only pulled standard holos. Not even an ex card. I'm going to chalk it up to terrible luck but this is why I stick to buying singles. Hoping to snag some art cards once the prices come down a lil more

I opened a pc etb, both the 3 pack blisters, and the 2 checklane blisters on release day. I didn't pull anything crazy or "valuable", but I still think the set itself is awesome. I did pull the common, reverse, and the ex pikachu's tho, which were my chase cards, and my promos were nice and swirly, so I was super hyped about that and thoroughly enjoyed my opening. That's all that matters to me.
Oh no, I opened up these random packs with random odds and got random cards!! 😭 No one ever let him play the lottery or go to a casino - man may keel over.
He’s right though. He’s not making the video for the point of getting only the iono expensive cards ect. He’s talking about trying to collect it from the point of view of a master set collector. If you want to complete a master set of sword and shield darkness ablaze 12 secret rares you could get from 6 booster boxes and finish the whole set. Chilling reign had 35 secret rare cards which is double that. The pull rates between darkness ablaze and chilling reign were essentially the same but the increase in size of the set and number of secret rares means you need to open twice as many packs as you did the darkness ablaze set in order to complete the set and find the SPECIFIC CARDS that you’re after. He says that in his video. It’s an incredibly frustrating experience and every collector that I know, will agree with me that opening packs of chilling reign is less enjoyable than opening packs of darkness ablaze when trying to complete the set. Comparing this to scarlet and violet, 16 secret rares and Paldea evolved having 36 secret rares, and both sets having the same pull rates, it makes complete sense that someone would be frustrated opening the packs with the goal of completing the set in mind. This is the point he is trying to make in his video, and I completely agree with him. The easiest solution to this problem as a collector is to just avoid opening packs for the larger sets after opening so many and just buy the cards you’re missing. He is giving good advice to stop people from opening the packs of the larger sets when they can just buy all the cards they’re missing much cheaper, this is a very relevant money saving suggestion towards people who don’t otherwise know about the sets size, amount of secret rares and how to collect sets efficiently. I completely agree with Jake here and I think you’ve been misled into thinking he is complaining about not being able to pull multiple of the same $$$$$$ cards due to his greed and wanting to make money.

I’ve been in the hobby for over 20 years now and I know the ins and outs, part of a community of over 50’000 people and would rather give any chance I have to say something - to use it to put people on the right direction in this hobby.
THANK YOU! I commented on that vid saying I had a lot of fun opening the set. I opened a couple cases and got about 2 gold/SIR per box, 11 per case. I lucked out and pulled a lot of good cards. I also stated his pool of about 50 packs was way too low to determine a set was no fun to open, and that if you are only looking for a handful of cards, pretty much any set would not be fun to open, because you aren’t gonna pull all the cards you want from a box and a half. If you only want specific cards, you should just buy them. I know plenty of set/master set collectors, and just regular card collectors, and they all enjoyed opening the set. Did they want the Iono SIR, Ttar, and Karp? Yes. But were they complaining about pulls when they got a SIR Grusha instead of Iono? No, they were just happy to pull an SIR. I don’t mind Jake’s content overall, I like some of it, but this vid of his was just a bad look imo.

I’ve been opening booster boxes since XY base. The Scarlet & Violet era so far has been the best main set opening experiences I’ve had. Great video as always bud. And the stupidity at the end to compare a main set from an era vs a holiday/specialty set where the pull rates are significantly better 🤣
Haha...i bought 8 packa on release from sleeved boosters. Pulled the Dendra full art and the Gresha art rare to go along with one ex and an additional full art. I was shocked and happy with it all! Its all luck, just like any other set.
I’ve only just got back into collecting cards and some of the cards look amazing! Not fused about the price of the cards I enjoy the art and what pops!
Personally my hunt is the Farigiraf, Flamigo and Maushold AR's. I'm probably just going to buy them and open here and there for fun. Great call out man
I bought like 4 or 5 of my chase card (Japanese) including that tyranitar for less then 35 bucks sure I didn’t open up a booster box but I did save myself a lot of money for the next set to come out or even Pokémon 151
Those that weren't collecting in yr 4-6 in school back in the 90s or arent from that era, dont know the struggle of trying to finish a set. Sets these days are way easier to finish then back then and takes the excitement out of trying to get that one card only a hand full of people had.
I absolutely love this set. That Mismagius IR is downright gorgeous and can be picked up for less than a Taco Bell box. I think Pokemon Go was their first set try at of guaranteeing a holo per pack, but that feeling quickly faded. I think this solution is the sweet spot. Also: 50 packs and only 3 IR is mad sus... Booster boxes are seeded.

My wife and i opened up 1 ETB, 1 BB, and a few loose packs at card party and we were able to finish probably 70% of the set so. Id say its pretty good. Easily will be anle to pick up the rest in trades.
I will say with my experience the pull rates from products outside of booster boxes has been atrocious! But the card set as a whole for PE is AMAZING, just waiting for singles prides to tank now

I think you have a really good point. I’m actually so glad that Pokémon seems to have been able to self-correct their own market and allows for children and older collectors alike to be able to have an easier financial time acquiring some of their favorite cards. Ever since 2020 and beyond, Pokémon really took off and I think Scarlet and Violet has finally brought the TCG market prices back down to earth. SV and its future sets will definitely weed out the true collectors vs. “investors”, “influencers”, etc. Great video as per usual Opossum!
Exactly, they’re trying to ensure the longevity of the hobby with plenty of product for kids and players, they keep the hobby alive when the investments leave 👍🏽
@@OpossumBud Love this mindset, it’s what drew me to Pokémon in the first place. The hobby was never about money when we collected cards on the playground as kids, we just wanted to collect what we liked. Same holds true now 👍
Though that is true and I applaud Pokemon for increasing supply, the thing is that main sets from here on out will be bigger. SV base only had two JP sets and a few promos, Paldea Evolved has Three sets and a few more promos. So what we saw with SV is more of the exception rather than the norm. TPCi had mitigated the size a bit by making some card promos and if they are playable even more promos which is cool for those alternate art collectors.
And thank god for that because Magic sure as hell won’t any time soon.

The last few sets my chase card was a few $. I collect for the art not the value.
In all honestly i think his problem for not liking the set has more to do with the investment aspect with it especially with the scarlet and violet series a booster box is almost certainly guaranteed a special art making the cards more available for everybody. For someone who is more of a collector of trying to complete sets this is a blessing open a couple of booster boxes and buy the rest as singles. I like this new change but i guess he doesnt.

I got really lucky with my first 9 packs -- I'm still waiting for my ETB but I got the Iono which wasn't really on my list and then eiscue and one of the tinkatink cards. It feels the same as SV base tbh -- if I wanted guaranteed rarity pulls etc then I would just empty my bank account on 1 of the new Japanese Booster boxes, instead of buying significantly cheaper english products occasionally.
also -- if the pull levels were Evolving cries or Chilling pain / Fusion strike level then people would be complaining as well. I think SV is changing that slightly which is great, I love getting the reverses and at least a holo -- it's a good improvement alongside the pull rate.
Juat a last thing -- this is the only way we can still gamble in pokemon after they had to remove the game corners from the video games lmao so yeah not everyone is going to hit that jackpot everytime and I think we forget that sometimes, me included.
Man, as a collector and content creator I am LOVING the new sets. Beautiful artwork and great pull rates mean that I get a chance to add some nice looking cards to my son's binder, my wife's binder, and my personal binder! And during my streams, it's not like opening up a booster box from SWSH where you MIGHT get an alt art, with SV and PAL you're guaranteed at least one SAR. This type of batching is great for collectors who want to have a better chance at pulling nice looking art and the kids who this hobby was invented for.

I love the pull rates honestly and am happy this set is beefier. One thing I didn't like about S&V base was pulling the same exact card over and over again (although I still LOVED that set). Great video PE is great. As someone thats favorite Pokemon happens to be Magikarp, I love the hunt so far and the SIR/IRs they are amazing in this set. (121 packs in) Evolving Skies was impossible because of the pull rates.
I bought my son 3 ETB's and he pulled plenty of great cards. The last box had the Iono Alt Art, which is a beautiful card in person tbh. But he got his chase card, the Skeledirge Full Art, so he was stoked even before pulling Iono. Jake just needs to be happy to be opening packs, enjoy the experience, and be thankful for what he gets. Sometimes you get lots of hits, sometimes you don't. It is what it is 🤷🏽♂️
TwiceBakedJake must have been twice as baked. I opened my booster box earlier this afternoon. 2 Ultra Rares (Noivern & Iono) and 1 Special Illustration Rare (Dendra). Everything else was an Illustration Rare or lower.

We opened 3 ETBs, one booster box and 3 booster bundles. We pulled some amazing cards on the channel. I just made a short showing our pulls. We got the Tyranitar and that’s all we care about. This set is great but honestly we’re kinda focused forward on Obsidian 🔥 flames

I opened just one single blister pack just to open it on release day, got a Dendra Full Art trainer. I personally like having rare cards that are tough to pull for the chase. I also finally pulled the moonbreon yesterday and have been chasing it for over a year since getting into the hobby, and as happy as I am about it, it’s also bittersweet the hunt is over.

🤷♂ For the people that actually play the game Paldea evolved has been a great set giving us so many tools and new archetypes to play with. The return of N (in Iono) , Scramble energy (in reversal), and super rod was also very much welcomed in my neck of the woods that benefits almost all decks. Loving this set so far. Almost every pack I crack has something useful in it to me!

As a collector I just buy the singles that I want so I judge sets based off the CARDS in it and not pull rates. And if I ever open packs I go in with the expectations that it's all random and I'm doing it purely for the fun gambling aspect, not to get my "money's worth" because that's never been the case no matter which set you open. Hard to break even when you get the best hits already
I am working a full time job and I don't have time to go crazy buying cards all the time! I'm so glad that pokemon is catering to people like me who don't have a ton of money or time to spend, but still want to get some cool cards for the binder 🤲 I pretty much collect only art rares bc I genuinely love the art. That's what the hobby should be about, the genuine love for it

I've been collecting Pokemon cards again recently, and what I like about these newer cards are just the art. I've gotten some pretty cool cards with nice art of some of my favorite pokemon, and just the art for some of the common ones are nice.
I've been opening cases of products. On the grand scheme of thing, the pull rate goes to 3.17 pack for a hit, but if you check pull rate for single product, it is just rough. Also, the amount of diferent card for every rarity went up about 50%, so it's harder to get a specific single cards. But we already know that. W/E.

This video was incredible. Paldea Evolved was an incredible set. I opened about 220 booster packs, and hit the Iono twice, the Pokémon SIRs, and the Tyranitar… Can’t believe that man was crying about opening 50 packs, and saying he wasn’t having a good time just because he didn’t his his chase 😭😭😭😭

LOL I love Paldea evolved, so many hits, so many chases. Sure some cards are harder to pull than others but thats just Pokemon cards in general. I was able to pull 2 Iono SIR's from 7 Bb's and a tyranitar. Didn't pull magikarp but i gotta tell ya, its still fun to open XD
I opened a case of BB's, and of course I'm missing heaps of the Art rares, but I'm more annoyed that I'm still missing 2 reverse holos to complete the set, lol. I did get 2 Iono SIR's, so I'm not complaining. Gives me good trading power at the next meet so I can fill out the set.
Paldea Evolved is one of my favorite sets to open lately. My chases for the set are the Full Art Falkner, Illustrator Eiscue(second favorite Ice Type after Mamoswine), Secret Illustrator Rare Grusha (I just love the art of him being in a cabin in a snowstorm), Grocery Shopping Fuecoco, and any of the Ghetsis Boss’s Orders. But the investment channels pumping up random cards always makes me laugh cause imo opening and collecting cards should be about having fun not oh this card is worth x amount of money.

This set is an Awesome set for the players! It has soo many good card playable cards and really helping the format being more Paldea based I wish the "investment" channels would learn to enjoy the game these basics exs that are like 1 dollar are great for playing with Especially Ting lu , Chien Pao , and the starters!

These new pull rates are really exposing the investors from the true pokemon fans. I personally don't care if the most expensive card in a set is 10 bucks, that just means every collector gets great cards at a great price.

First ETB I bought had the magikarp, I've loved basically every art piece even got an Aya Kusube. The art these days is so amazing each new set to me looks better than the last. I watched that video too and I'm glad you're speakin on it because it made no sense to me lol.

why does pokemon company care about keeping long term value of the cards lol. I mean the shouldn't print it to the literal ground to where they sit on shelves but their main purpose is to make it exciting to kids and sell regularly, not for some 30 somethings to speculate on years down the line.
@@Bionicleforever because kids are a small part of what makes the game as big as it is. They need to have their set have value so that people want to buy it. It maintains the hobby allowing others to gain interest in it too
They aren't doing it for long term value. They are doing it because the experience is interesting enough that it will grow interest in opening cards for people that don't.
The potential for value is going to be there, but they just want them to be desirable to begin with.

I love this set! I’m a player and a collector. I’ve opened a case and my only complaint is that within the case the special cards didn’t seem randomized thoroughly. I got 2 Iono Special arts, 2 iono full arts and I got the same Illustration rares in each box respectively. I’m happy with the pull rates overall! I’m more surprised I got so many duplicates of higher rarity cards in a sealed case. Not complaining 😂 can’t wait to crack more! It seems like a box has 4-5 regular ex, 2-3 Full arts, 3-4 Illustration Rares, 1-2 special illustration rares, 0-1 gold cards (a box had 1 gold card and 1 special illustration rare OR 2 special illustration rares)

It's funny because I wasn't going to do Paldea evolved, but seeing TwiceBamkedFlake's comments, it actually sounds like this set might be good. I liked the Scarlet and violet hit rate, but wasn't a big fan of the cards themselves. I thought, why don't they just throw more stuff in here to catch.. these crown zenith-like pull rates are fun, but I want to see more cards that aren't super boring to me. I just don't like the Paldea region Pokemon. Might grow on me.. but I do like that they kept the good pull rates, but expanded the amount of hits. That's the secret sauce Pokemon seems to finally have figured out. We like "chase cards," but we don't want to be able to pull an entire booster box and possibly end up with just a single full art (like early sword and shield). Just load a set... like Crown Zenith Gallery in evolving skies' traner gallery slot. Moonbreon could still be just as difficult to pull as it is now.. but at the end of a BB opening I wouldn't have one decent card and a ton of bulk. If the Galarian Gallery was a subset in evolving skies... that's the kind of sets that I want to see. Tons of hits, but still very hard chases. I honestly can't stand that whole "Jake here and welcome to the hobby." Like he's the hobby. I just can't stand him. He sounds like a whiney little nerd. Just my opinion. I wish I could make his stuff not show up on my feed. Sometimes I click his videos just to cringe. I'll just end my rant here.. but, yes, this video is correct.
Jake has lost touch with reality. To say Silver Tempest is a better opening experience is a bit of a joke when all you want is one card, the artwork on these first two S&V sets have been fantastic with improved pull rates. My son would not be disappointed opening a box of these, he's not driven by greed.

From the openings of S & V sets (base and Paldea) I have seen, I was under the impression that Pokemon had tried to work On a more even distribution of hits rather than change the pull rates too much. Trying to get better consistency overall so you don't need to open thousands of packs as an individual for the odds to even out.....Random side note, I'm not really a plush guy but that Pika-Snorlax is quality and always appreciate the new setup each time to keep an eye out for.

This set has been a ton of fun for me. I got a great booster box that gave me some version of nearly every Pokemon I collect. I got the Wooper and Mismagius my friend wants, as well as most of the other "chases" we had.
PS I agree that Tinkaton is the best in the set.

I'm really happy with this scarlet and violet era so far. I've opened a fusion strike booster box recently and got like 3 V's from the box. I opened paldea evolved and got so many great artworks. Its just so much more enjoyable to open scarlet and violet right now.
Also I've opened about 2 booster boxes and got around 12 hits each box and im hearing around the same with others
Got absolutely nothing from a few SV ETBs despite the supposed better pull rates. Opened every single Crown Zenith product got some sick pulls but not a single gold card. It just be like that at times.

I was pretty disappointed with my ETB I got a few days ago, ngl lol I only pulled standard holos. Not even an ex card. I'm going to chalk it up to terrible luck but this is why I stick to buying singles. Hoping to snag some art cards once the prices come down a lil more

I opened a pc etb, both the 3 pack blisters, and the 2 checklane blisters on release day. I didn't pull anything crazy or "valuable", but I still think the set itself is awesome. I did pull the common, reverse, and the ex pikachu's tho, which were my chase cards, and my promos were nice and swirly, so I was super hyped about that and thoroughly enjoyed my opening. That's all that matters to me.

I’ve opened some sets where I open so much I don’t pull anything. But I still had fun opening it.
He’s right though. He’s not making the video for the point of getting only the iono expensive cards ect. He’s talking about trying to collect it from the point of view of a master set collector.
If you want to complete a master set of sword and shield darkness ablaze 12 secret rares you could get from 6 booster boxes and finish the whole set.
Chilling reign had 35 secret rare cards which is double that. The pull rates between darkness ablaze and chilling reign were essentially the same but the increase in size of the set and number of secret rares means you need to open twice as many packs as you did the darkness ablaze set in order to complete the set and find the SPECIFIC CARDS that you’re after. He says that in his video.
It’s an incredibly frustrating experience and every collector that I know, will agree with me that opening packs of chilling reign is less enjoyable than opening packs of darkness ablaze when trying to complete the set.
Comparing this to scarlet and violet, 16 secret rares and Paldea evolved having 36 secret rares, and both sets having the same pull rates, it makes complete sense that someone would be frustrated opening the packs with the goal of completing the set in mind. This is the point he is trying to make in his video, and I completely agree with him.
The easiest solution to this problem as a collector is to just avoid opening packs for the larger sets after opening so many and just buy the cards you’re missing. He is giving good advice to stop people from opening the packs of the larger sets when they can just buy all the cards they’re missing much cheaper, this is a very relevant money saving suggestion towards people who don’t otherwise know about the sets size, amount of secret rares and how to collect sets efficiently.
I completely agree with Jake here and I think you’ve been misled into thinking he is complaining about not being able to pull multiple of the same $$$$$$ cards due to his greed and wanting to make money.

THANK YOU! I commented on that vid saying I had a lot of fun opening the set. I opened a couple cases and got about 2 gold/SIR per box, 11 per case.
I lucked out and pulled a lot of good cards.
I also stated his pool of about 50 packs was way too low to determine a set was no fun to open, and that if you are only looking for a handful of cards, pretty much any set would not be fun to open, because you aren’t gonna pull all the cards you want from a box and a half.
If you only want specific cards, you should just buy them.
I know plenty of set/master set collectors, and just regular card collectors, and they all enjoyed opening the set. Did they want the Iono SIR, Ttar, and Karp? Yes. But were they complaining about pulls when they got a SIR Grusha instead of Iono? No, they were just happy to pull an SIR.
I don’t mind Jake’s content overall, I like some of it, but this vid of his was just a bad look imo.
I feel your pain with Crown Zenith. I pre-ordered the pokemon center etb for my birthday and didn't get a single alt pokemon or trainer. Just galarian gallery magnezone and thievul . 😖
I’ve been opening booster boxes since XY base. The Scarlet & Violet era so far has been the best main set opening experiences I’ve had.
Great video as always bud. And the stupidity at the end to compare a main set from an era vs a holiday/specialty set where the pull rates are significantly better 🤣
Haha...i bought 8 packa on release from sleeved boosters. Pulled the Dendra full art and the Gresha art rare to go along with one ex and an additional full art. I was shocked and happy with it all! Its all luck, just like any other set.
I’ve only just got back into collecting cards and some of the cards look amazing! Not fused about the price of the cards I enjoy the art and what pops!
The new set have really good artwork on both the gallery and common cards.

I bought like 4 or 5 of my chase card (Japanese) including that tyranitar for less then 35 bucks sure I didn’t open up a booster box but I did save myself a lot of money for the next set to come out or even Pokémon 151
Can confirm, I opened a paldea evolved ETB and 5 sleeved boosters and got 1 SIR and that was it, just how it goes sometimes 🤷🏻♂️
Those that weren't collecting in yr 4-6 in school back in the 90s or arent from that era, dont know the struggle of trying to finish a set. Sets these days are way easier to finish then back then and takes the excitement out of trying to get that one card only a hand full of people had.

I absolutely love this set. That Mismagius IR is downright gorgeous and can be picked up for less than a Taco Bell box. I think Pokemon Go was their first set try at of guaranteeing a holo per pack, but that feeling quickly faded. I think this solution is the sweet spot.
Also: 50 packs and only 3 IR is mad sus... Booster boxes are seeded.

My wife and i opened up 1 ETB, 1 BB, and a few loose packs at card party and we were able to finish probably 70% of the set so. Id say its pretty good. Easily will be anle to pick up the rest in trades.

I will say with my experience the pull rates from products outside of booster boxes has been atrocious! But the card set as a whole for PE is AMAZING, just waiting for singles prides to tank now
