Pundits again talking about inconsistency. Thats BS. Real issue is Premier League is corrupt & referreeing decisions always favour Man City - the richest club in the history of the EPL. No pundit will say this but how many decisions keep going in Man City's favour like the penalty not given to Liverpool that probably denied them the title?
Rodri ran into Havertz at kick off and threw himself to the floor like a cheat. Seemed to set the tone for the game. The things some City players and fans are complaining about are commonplace in modern football, things that the governing bodies have let go for decades. Yes it's annoying. I don't know why it hasn't been addressed, there are lots of simple measures that can be taken to reduce gamesmanship

@John-ms6bv you can foul them, was plenty of fouls around. But a shove in someone's back when they are going for a header, when you are on a yellow, isn't really advised, is it. Stop crying victim constantly it's boring. So your opinion is, trossard did nothing wrong? Just a shove in the back, kick the ball away after the whistle, and he's hard done by? Do me a favour. On a yellow, you shouldn't be fouling anyone no, kicking the ball away after aswel, not so smart.
Need to take Oliver out of these big games, he’s getting too many big reckons wrong…yesterday / Kacacic last season / Doku at Anfield. One thing is common all decision in favour of MC and this has last year / this year will influence the title. Ars/Liv/MU should be asking for a change if appointed.
I agree with everything they said here. Arsenal players are going to have to learn their lesson about the new rules. City Players are rattled, Bernando Silva talking about Liverpool, because Liverpool never beat them when they needed to win the league.
I could have put money on the fact that Michael Oliver was going to either send one of our players off, award a penalty against us, or deny us a penalty….I remember the bizarre sending off of Martinelli when he sent off against Wolves for 2 offences in the same phase it cannot be a coincidence that he as sent off a total of 7 Arsenal Players in his career more than any other team..ALSO last season Arsenal were lambasted for over celebrating a win by the whole world yet did you see Man City Players Whooping it up when they equalised against a ten man Arsenal team it was as if they had won the Premiership..THEY HAVE NO SHAME!!
Rules are rules. If the rules are going to be applied, then the rules need to be applied for EVERYONE. How much did Michael Oliver have riding on the game, or how much is he being paid under the table by Man City.
Given the concern the FA now put on head injuries to players , and inforcing the rules how come Haaland wasn't sent off for deliberately smacking an unsuspecting Gabriel in the back of the head . Seems the Rules are implemented very preferably
He's a total clown for doing it but come on pal. Gabriel isn't so weak that having a ball lobbed at his back/back of his head is going to injure him! If he'd gone down claiming an injury he'd be ridiculed as Rodri should be too from the incident at the KO - looked like almost nothing if anything in it!
Jim this is the reason why English referees weren't selected at VAR at Euro, you people you always support nonsense to suit your situation. What did Howard Webb say last season after not sending Kovasic? What has happened this season?😢
Brilliant attempt at a pass from Trossard! If he didn't kick the ball at the height of its bounce then the oncoming City player intercepts and stops a run on goal from Martinelli. Watch it again.
No matter how nit picky some of the laws may be they should be applied at all times to all teams. This is the main issue which is in ref's hands and this has not been fairly applied. Arsenal has been scrutinized while most of their opponents have not. WHY?
City really do come across as a bit sensitive here. Get a big decision which is probably right but ref should have blown at HT well before that. They couldn’t the game and complaining and moaning.
Hang about both Arsenal goals could have been disallowed on another day and Raya would have been off by the 60th minute if the ref had the balls. City were more sinned against than sinning in this game overall.
33 games left. We have a lovely title race this year. Top 3 + hopefully at least one of Spurs, Utd, Chelsea, Villa can step up and make it a juicy 4 way! LFG!
If the refe decide to treat you different, there is no point in arguing about learning lessons. If it is not this, they find a way to send off as we saw in previous season. Better call for consistency of application. That all.
Can somebody tell Bernado Silver that Arsenal were winning League Championships when his poxy club was slumming it in league one. Since when were City so nostalgic about Liverpool?
We are a worldclass striker away from being an incredible force. Yea havertz has done well, he ain't getting us 20+ goals though We've let osimhen go Turkey smh
It's a funny old game.....City player whining about one team didn't come to play. One of the first things Guardiola did years ago was instruct his players to intentionally foul on the half way line to stop any attacks likely to lead to goals. It was such an obvious tactic. But it worked. Not just tippy tappy, pass your way round. He added a different kind of aggression - go get the ball back when you lose it. And ruthless 'professionalism'. He is a winner. But the blatant halfway fouling thing worked, often the away team fell short in the match because of it, for example a last minute equaliser. Still came unstuck against signore Carlo Ancelloti though. COUS!!!!! Love u RoRo & Chico. xx
VAR is the problem, as we’ve heard on sky sports mic’d up that VAR are basically commentating in the onfield refs ear. Basically the refs trying to concentrate on the game but also on the VAR running commentary!
“If the Refs apply the Law”. Well they only seem to be applying the Law to Arsenal and nobody else. We saw incidents against Brighton, Spurs and Man City all going unpunished. Arsenal do it and the cards come out. All fans are asking for is consistency. The Referees in the EPL are appalling.
I agree. This isn't the first time it's happened. Arsenal have made the same mistake twice. Whether referee is consistent or not is completely irrelevant here. Had he sent him off for literally no reason then you could've argued. Arsenal need to keep their head cool. This has happened again. Kicking the ball away in frustration? Like who tf even are you? Ronaldo or Messi? Like Halland said, learn to be humble. Look at what you are doing wrong, don't focus on what mistakes others are making. You're only allowed to do that if you've done everything right and after that you got screwed.
You never played football or any sport to say that TalksPort and so called journalist. Tell me how a player that plays the ball like he was playing after less than a 2 sec after the wishtle can stop playing like a robot ???? Tell me ????
We will not see players sent of for delaying the restart again and again as the rule is clear that it only applies to those who play in red and white AND are a North London based club.
It was a yellow card. And it was his 2nd. Therefore a sending off. He made 0 attempt at getting the ball. You can’t just barge into players from behind with no aim but to knock the player over😊
“If the referee applies the law” is the issue all football fans have. In inconsistent nature of referees drives us mad. Also, was delaying a restart ever even an issue? I cannot think of a time that it bothered me before. Feels like the refs have backed themselves into a corner with the Rice one a few weeks ago and are trying to retrospectively make out that it’s a big focus this season.
People keep talking about arsenal players but nothing about doku who did even worse... Then there's haaland throwing the ball against Gabriel's head and hard... crickets!!!

Arsenal took it to City the whole first half, until trossard got sent off. Any manager with 10 men is going to sit behind the ball with everything and try Defend their lead. It damn nearly paid off. City don’t like how good arsenal are, end of, they know it’s going to be a hard season ahead
Why is everyone suddenly using the word "needle" is this way? It's weird how all the companies start saying the same stuff at the same time.. how could that happen?
The over the top credit Arsenal is getting from being to 10 men is rather silly, there are many examples in the premier league and accross the top leagues were a 10 man team holds firm for a draw or wins it due a lead they have taken. Nobody is denying Arsenal defended very well for 45-50 min with 10 men but its getting rather obnoxious now that the make it sound like its a God like miracle. Even Roy Keane despite all the pandering from all the pundits about Arsenals defense said "they still conceded 2 goals".
Yeah true , how many teams have done that at the Etihad ? I think that’s the difference here , the magnitude and the strength of the dominant Man City team - we can’t deny that the sheer quality of the Man City team is the reason why Arsenal’s performance is being spotlighted. 100% this scenario has happened many times in football , defending your lead or fighting for a draw with playing with 10 men - but - again - how many times at the Etihad
It is Arteta who drilled these cheating ways into their head. The youngster who has not even kicked a ball even got a yellow for telling Raya to time waste from the side lines. Pathetic lol
😂 hold on are they saying city vs Liverpool werent proper games? The football on show was of the higest quality 😂 guess some can only appreciate football via tough tackles lmfao
When Arsenal were just emerging as title contenders and city won against them, the diving diva Silva was praising them, when Liverpool were challenging them, then he called them dirty. Now all he has is praise lol. If his team, 115, won yesterday, he’d have praised Arsenal lol. Wouldn’t brag about those titles either, no one actually recognises and will recognise less after 115. We can all do great things when we cheat.
These pundits are being disingenuous. Why is the bloody letter of the law being applied ONLY to Arsenal???? How does that compare to Howard Webb's comments last season with 2 leg braking tackles by Kovacic? Everyone is using the fancy word - Inconsistency. The right word to use is "bias" or worse "corruption"?

Only Arsenal must learn...I get it. Talksport why not call out the incompetent refereeing...why not check the games Michael Oliver refereed last season and now this season and check his inconsistencies and the excuses they made?
MC players all acting like spoilt kids, surrounding and pressurising ref on every decision. Walker/Haaland/Silva all senior players should look themselves in the mirror. Did Oliver even consider Trossard may have not heard the whistle as he followed the ball in the same motion…benefit of doubt but City players all over ref straight away not allowing Oliver to even take a breath for a second…appalling behaviour!
It was a booking anyway. Player gets booked for contraventions. Shock! Let’s face it Arsenal got off with 2 goals that could or should have been disallowed and Raya should have been off by the 60th minute if the ref had any balls.

@@villa_fan8882 it’s even dumber than that if you think about it - firstly it was so obviously a foul and Trossard knew that when he did it - secondly that was in no way a pass - not in a million years - thirdly the muppet was already on a yellow - and then Arteta comes out and defends him - what a DH - he has already had a player sent off for doing exactly the same thing ffs but clearly hasn’t learnt from it and so neither have his players - dumb and dumber!

Only two players booked for delaying a restart, out of all the PL games played this season. There is no letter of the law, there is just one rule for Arsenal doing this, and one rule for every other team in the Premier League. There have been lots and lots of instances with other players delaying the restart and not one other booking.
Just apply the rules the same way for every side.

Nope. He's a moron.

I agree with everything they said here. Arsenal players are going to have to learn their lesson about the new rules. City Players are rattled, Bernando Silva talking about Liverpool, because Liverpool never beat them when they needed to win the league.
and 7 minutes of stoppage time in a half that had the top 3 active ball in play halves this season.
I could have put money on the fact that Michael Oliver was going to either send one of our players off, award a penalty against us, or deny us a penalty….I remember the bizarre sending off of Martinelli when he sent off against Wolves for 2 offences in the same phase it cannot be a coincidence that he as sent off a total of 7 Arsenal Players in his career more than any other team..ALSO last season Arsenal were lambasted for over celebrating a win by the whole world yet did you see Man City Players Whooping it up when they equalised against a ten man Arsenal team it was as if they had won the

We've let osimhen go Turkey smh
COUS!!!!!

VAR is the problem, as we’ve heard on sky sports mic’d up that VAR are basically commentating in the onfield refs ear. Basically the refs trying to concentrate on the game but also on the VAR running commentary!
Arsenal packed the defence and made it into a training game. Good on them, unfortunately they couldn’t hold on for the whole of the game
What abt the ref calling walker out of his position
“If the Refs apply the Law”. Well they only seem to be applying the Law to Arsenal and nobody else. We saw incidents against Brighton, Spurs and Man City all going unpunished. Arsenal do it and the cards come out. All fans are asking for is consistency. The Referees in the EPL are appalling.
I love that Arsenal has gotten under man city’s skin. Love it!
Not enough chat about the consistency of ref decisions…
Wasn't smart tactics when Newcastle did it to Arsenal a few years ago.

Why they try to make it like doku and bernardo id not did it, de talk 10 minutes about trossard but 10 sec. about those 2 .
Silva was correct. Arsenal are very ordinary.
So we now know if you kick the ball away its a yellow but if you throw the ball at an opponent's head thats ok. Makes sense 👏
These the same lot who would call out Jose for doing the dark arts. The double standards is laughable
Wonder when other teams will start having lessons to learn for the same things..
Ffs doku did not kick the ball “away” he kicked it to where the ref said the free kick was! You see the ref clearly stating that! Trossard hoofed the ball away! The 2 incidents are not the same, trossard was stupid like rice and rightly was sent off - simple
