Battlefield 2042 is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is the seventeenth installment in the Battlefield series. The title is scheduled to be released on October 22, 2021 and October 15, 2021 for Gold Edition and Ultimate Edition(Early Access), for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Series S.
Gameplay
Similar to its predecessors, Battlefield 2042 is a multiplayer-focused first-person shooter. As the game is set in the near future, it features futuristic weapons and gadgets like deployable turrets and drones, as well as vehicles that players can commandeer. Players can now request a vehicle air-drop to any location. The game also introduces a new "Plus" system which allows players to customize their weapons on the spot. The class system was significantly overhauled. Players can select to assume control of a specialist who falls under the four traditional Battlefield gameplay classes of Assault, Engineer, Medic and Recon. These characters can wield all the weapons and gadgets players have unlocked. Each of them also have their own unique skills and gadgets. For instance, one of the specialists is equipped with a wingsuit, while another is equipped with a healing pistol. The game will launch with 10 specialists. Levolution and destructive environments from Battlefield 4 return in Battlefield 2042, and include extreme weather effects such as tornadoes and sandstorms which can lift players into a vortex and drastically reduce the visibility respectively.
The game features three main gameplay modes. "All-out warfare" encompasses "Breakthrough" and "Conquest", two staple modes of the series. In Conquest, two teams combat against each other in order to capture control points. Once control points in a sector is captured, the team will control said sector. In Breakthrough, one team must try to capture another team's control points, while another team must defend them. Both modes can be played with and against artificial intelligence. The PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S versions support 128 players, whereas the PS4 and Xbox One versions only support 64 players. Other modes included in the game include Hazard Zone, a cooperative multiplayer mode, and a third mode developed by DICE LA.

This game has incredible new changes and its a waaay different Battlefield and its done in a good way, unlike cod warzone. Bigger battles and better graphics with a new setting thats unique and feels much more realistic

Nobody seems to have noticed the extended magazine on the weapon. Finally we get mag size options
There were a few threads on Twitter on that, one with Stodeh comparing that to Warzone but we will see how it will actually affect the game later.

It better have realistic consequences like decreased accuracy with the added weight. If they copy warzone I'm out. Warzone people just hold the trigger down for a min until you go down cause the guns have little to no recoil
@@nicobenji0248 I mean to be fair, for realism like that, they would have to code separate weights for different styles of rifles. Like a bullpup would have a different amount of recoil reduction/addition just because of the mag location. It wouldn't be hard to code, but I don't see them going that far into detail. In the case of Warzone, most of the weapons aren't bullpup, so the mag location, if anything, would actually reduce the recoil, rather than increase it
There's an Extended Magazine attachment in Battlefield Hardline....
I might actually be able to survive longer than 30 seconds in choppers now thanks to the size of the maps and sky box 🤞

But there will be more AA guns, more AA vehicles, more jets, more choppers, more infantry with more stingers. Double the players to man them. So could end being the same 😛
NOT when 50% of players will be snipers and other 50% will be some engineers with AA Rockets constantly locking on to you, and also NO if there will be fast respawn thing so planes will always come for you ... but will se hope they balance the game properly

Not always devs but players as well who end up steering a game in the wrong direction with their bs opinions to change everything, by that I mean bs influencers.
Even if they don't mess the core game up, if they don't bring back a paid DLC/Premium system then this game's assuredly gonna be plagued with yet more crumbs of drip feed DLC (just like in Feministfield V and even Modern Warfare-as good as that was too) + ridiculous-obnoxious-cosmetics that are guaranteed to be insanely overpriced 🥴
If they just remastered bf4 mechanics with better graphics and different maps for this I’d pay fat stacks for it

EA told insiders already that they are unset on the number of squad members. It'll be up to the community during Beta to influence their decision.
Honestly i prefer 5 members squads since i have a team of 5 broskys

@@categoriaxbox2396 Honestly six works well with this new map size I would think, I liked how in battlefield 2 you could have team sizes of 7-8 and end up properly advancing throughout a map. Now days six would be cool though.
I think 5-6 squad size would be nice but just as in planetside 2 i would like to see the ability to group squads into platoons so multiple squads could communicate.

@@alejandro94zav I hated it being used in bf4 to begin with. Imbalanced the match half the time since usually only 1 person is playing commander so only 1 team got UAV's and AC130. Plus UAV's are lame af.
Commanders also ruined maps like lockers because the UAV would take up the entire width and a large area of the map making back caps and flanks nearly impossible.

EA reveal that the game source code was "stolen" by hackers recently. Looks like hackers is back again in battlefield 2042 bois. Expect brutal aimbots/hacks in day one release. GG bois.

Battlefield 4 Infantry ammo never slowly replenishes lol! You need ammo crates from teammates or your class to get it.

Thank goodness they got rid of the bf5 vehicle ammo economy. Nothing fun about driving half way across the map for ammo.
Well it's better for balance youre on the ground getting hammered by an endless supply of ammo in a vehicle its ridiculous they wouldnt have to resupply
@@eoinm5758 you’re just bad at the game. I’ve been playing bf since ps2 days. Vehicles were never a problem. Even bad company 1 had that infinite artillery strike with the specialist class that no one ever called op. Gamers just whine about things & call it “op” when they don’t know how to deal with it.
Fr all it did was slow down the gameplay. I felt the same about all the unnecessary animations in bf5 like hopping out of a plane. You're half way across the map by the time you're finally falling.

@@MrSlidthunder Or he was simply alone. Can't take on a vehicle by yourself unless is it's a bike or a jeep or a really bad tank. I made it kind of a hobby to kill vehicles, BF3&4s air vehicles, you simply can't do shit. They survive an RPG and mostly you get only one hit before they piss off again. Lock Ons are nice but you won't get a kill, but at least most are scared enough to flare back to base. So I don't even have to waste and will still have ammo for a given opportunity.
You'll need at least another guy and that guy has to be close to the enemy base and also lucky enough to have the opportunity to hit up to 4 times to kill the outflared retreating helicopter. So actualy you better are a full squad with one in the field to scare the helo and 3 others to gun it down. IF the helo gunner doesn't spot them. And all that because the friendly air vehicles don't do their primary job. I don't wanna play like that just because the Helo is that exploitable. It's the scissors to so many papers down there and barely has a rock strong enough to smash it.

The last thing I want to come back is the BEEP BEEP BEEP auto lock on missiles
We already knew that the squads will consist of 4 members, but great video nontheless.
I still hope tho with after launch we get more vehicles :)

I can't wait. This reminds me of bf4 in so many ways. I'm also very happy about having bots in the game now. I love testing out weapons before jumping into multiplayer. I'm not too bothered by not having a campaign. The only battlefield campaign that I remember is BC2 lol. I'll take offline bots anyday over a cinematic campaign

in BF2 there was limited ammunition and i think everyone liked it ... going back to base to rearm and repair makes sense and sometimes can create a nice atmosphere especially when you go back with damaged vehicle ... but this kind of mechanic can take some time so that may be the reason why they make unlimited ammo and probably quick repairs ... this is the balance, i think i would rather to have limited ammo and reasons to go back, other than having constantly vehicles on battlefield with no break time

Don't like the idea of disabling part of the vehicule. Attrition was a bad idea for tank. in bf4 you are limited to 5 ammo, while you can fire all your ammo on bf5. An idea for helis for exemple, you have 10 rocket pods and 5 tows that reload, and you have to return to base to resupply ammo.
Dam i really hope vehicle ammo isn't unlimited as it made vehicle combat more tactical specially after taking a target or finishing a battle then having to decide if you had enough ammo to continue to next target or if you had enough to win any engagements. I honestly would much rather see a logistics vehicle to supply and repair vehicles this in of its self would open a nice play style specially on the new larger maps.
Imagine a superior enemy convoy attacking your position which given time will over run you but you manage to take out their supply lines meaning now the attackers have to decide to either push or withdraw as ammo is now a factor.
Am I honestly bit wary of vehicle unlimited ammo? Because if they are amping up the destruction then it's going to be hard to balance it or they're paring back the destruction to what we saw from last year's sneak peak at EA Play. Also 4 squads unless the Unit System is true looks to hamper teamwork because we'll get 2 & 3 man squads running about.

I don't think bullet attrition is completely gone; however, it just has been reduced from Battlefield V. At least I hope this will be the case. Im my opinion having a modern shooter where a tank can fire as many rounds as they want isn't right. I would like to see the ground and air vehicles balanced with some aspect of attrition to limit players just absolutely dominating like in Battlefield 4. Where the player has to return to base or a certain spot on the map to replenish ammo and or supplies.
But perhaps they are taking some of the past mechanics and reimplementing them due to the sheer scale of some of these maps. I liked bullet attrition. I just feel if they take us too far back and the mechanics feel to much like older titles it will become boring and a game with just a higher res skin pack on it.

I'm not tolerating 4 man squads when the teams are so big, unless they add a platoon where multiple squads can link up. 4 man squads doesn't give enough room for a whole section, and kind of sucks when you have 3 other guys In their own squad. I hope they put it to Six!

I hope they get rid of the zones in the air that pilots can fly through to replenish ammo and health. Those were abused so much in BFV and just made dog fights incredibly boring and broken
