Well actually Shigaraki was always meant to be the first choice vessel since he’s been with AFO since he was 5 and Dabi was only brought in as one of the backups when he was 13

The episode was lackluster because every impactful punch or hit was interrupted by a flashback after flashback, I wish he would’ve shown shotos special move at the beginning of the season or last season. There was no build up for the move and the music did not fit. Animation was actually cool but we all know if they weren’t making a 4th movie then the season would be looking a lot better.

(ANIME ONLY HERE) We're getting a couple of well-drawn stills in the season and I'm all for it. But I do wish they could've made the action more impactful, but it is what it is. I'm still a rookie animator so I won't complain much. But the emotions in this episode were delivered well, and as well as the aniamtion of Dabi's arm and hand burning up being the scene liked the most. Overall, 7.6/10 episode for me.
EDIT: I changed my mind, it's a 9/10 after rewatch. I was high af when I watched it first. XD

I'm glad it moved up on your rewatch, I thought this was a pretty great episode.
For me it scored well in action, drama, emotion, music and story, a hell of an episode.

@@zmetroplayz2456that’s what I’m saying . This was a hyped up fight since season 2 or 3 to have a lackluster fight action wise. Shoto literally did 2 moves. Dabi did like 3 moves where one got blocked and like a couple back to back punches when shoto was on the ground. I’m glad the emotional aspect took over more
