He was huge back in 2000 and his first album was a masterpiece. Unfortunately nothing that he did later on was able to live up to that, so I guess that's why he seems a bit underrated.
craig david wasn't underrated. he toured the world with his Born To Do It album.
More like urban artists outside north america rarely got the proper marketing push in america.
