Thank you for showing the scores in the captions. One point of interest is the paper ball retrieval test. I think the second throw was the tell, only because the puppy saw the paper ball. The other times, the handler did not ensure the puppy saw the ball. Another point is the umbrella. I think the umbrella test would have been clearer on a faster opening. Overall, a very good video showing the elements of the Volhard test. Thanks for posting.
Not the puppy for me. Cant stay still for even 3 secs. Definitely dominant. I have used the volhart tests on all my dogs since they were puppies. Not a dog for me
2-2-2 (but only 20s)-3-2-4? (throws were too high)-3-3? (even I could not identify the source of the sound)-3? (to hard to puppy to take hold to know)-3 (you really MUST rehearse opening the umbrella in private). Nice test. Feisty pup. Did he grow up to be something of a self-confident pistol?
This pertains to the next video showing a larger dog (collie) getting tested. We never talked to the puppy except as needed for test. No good dog etc.breeder should stay away as much as possible and not speak.
This is a more dominant pup, with less social attraction, and more independence shown, and not very good retrieve or prey drive. Would not be best obedience prospect.

no way. i would pass i dont want a dog that dominant ideally for me would be mostly 3s and 4's with a couple 2s

If he is the only surviving member of his litter of course he's going to win first place out of his litter.

High and low is not the metric of the test. The mode score indicates different temperaments.

yes, I agree. But it gives you a feel into future behavior of the pup
I don't know about obedience, but this is a very energetic and inquisitive dog. Ina rural setting, he will come home several times smelling of skunk.
