For most of my farming career I drove an open station combine ,it was dusty and hot and you had terrible sinus all day from the dusts and it was very itchy .That X9 is a beautiful machine and I would think it's a dream come true to operate one .
Good to see y'all moving forward
Nice X9 there! And great job. Well here in eu it's not all doin' harvest yet only some small farms for the past but i'll hope there's coming more harvest in this year of 2023
I make parts for this combine, the center support arm that's right in the middle for the head that you can see in the drivers seat there's 33% chance I made that one you own,
perfect video to show people where assemblies I make end up 👍
but the plant I work we also make a portion of that ladder you had issues with as well 😅
Great job driving the grain cart Ross
That monster looks bigger than the nearest small town where I grew up! Good Luck!
Nice looking corn crop Alex
Congratulations on the X9!! Hope you guys get some rain. Be safe!
We need it bad
Great video Alex
Awesome purchase can’t wait to see it in action this fall
You and me both!
Just hope you have a harvest! Doesn’t look like it eastern Nebraska.
First time I’ve seen an X9 running by someone on utube! Really enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Mike Mitchell ran 2 X9 1000's last harvest season with the HD50F headers. The 50 headers have issues that the 45s don't.
@@coreyneal3705He definitely knows how to test the limits love him tho
There is no doubt that the X9 has capacity in small grains as PAMI in Sask, Canada proved getting 60% higher capacity in side by side testing against JD previous biggest best model.
Having said that all manufacturers are struggling with quality control and a downright shortage of quality workers building these machines.
X9's are great once set up by experienced properly trained personnel but they have been having quite a few growing pains getting there.
New and sharp!
So I was combining side by side with a 780 Lexion and me in an old Twin Rotor New Holland. Stayed right with it the entire night in the heaviest canola crop I have ever combined. $50K combine with the same capacity in that crop as an $800K combine. Crazy!
Let's all admit the New Holland had a great
idea that the X9 has now gone to. Twin rotary design.
You aren't keeping up with a 780 in tough grinding conditions. Canola thrashes easy. Put it in a head small grain crop or go chew 200 bushel corn and show me the sample and loss between the 2. I've owned a 750 legion for 10 years. Nothing compares.
@@Americanfarmer750 Like I said same capacity in that crop. Now that should be somewhat amazing to any farmer who just spent $800K vs $50K the farmer I combined beside was blown away that was for sure.
Any experienced farmer knows a rotary can't compete in tough conditions. That goes without saying??
It's not a 800k combine!!! The new series are that much. Your comparing a 780 that is all of 7 years old. Lexion isn't just a rotor combine it aps, traditional cylinder with impeller and 2 rotors. Check your facts
@@Americanfarmer750 Actually get your facts...I asked the farmer what he paid for it and it was $800K or I wouldn't have said so.
While you are at it learn to read. I said a rotary can't compete in tough conditions and was referring to the New Holland not the Lexion which I happen to help fix in the field so I know exactly why it is better in tough conditions.
Never ends there’s somebody out there saying a L2 will outperform an X9!!
Look forward to seeing the new head cut on the ground in flex mode for beans. Dont see how it can work as good as a hydraflex. Lots of people run them ridgid even in beans because they dont have the float figured out. Drop the cutterbar and its just dead weight.
I’m interested to try it not sure how I’ll figure it out I’ll probably have to get with Ron from Hartung’s and see what he says on it
Got a Hd45f last fall, absolute nightmare in beans. We don't have the back gauge wheels on ours, don't know if that would have helped or not. Think we had 4 different techs from different locations try to figure it out and never could get it right. Ended up locking cutterbar rigid and taking pressure off the wings to the point the very outside was leaving beans but the only way we could get it to float. Didnt bother trying before noon, we were done before the sun went down. Supposedly they've solved the problem but we've yet to get a call about what to update/change
@@lukevenghaus903 yep, that's what I've heard as well. We have one coming for fall and I don't see how it'll even work. I talked to dealers in Canada and they said don't buy the flex, you won't use it. The ridgid portion can act just like a macdon, where the float is controlled but once you drop the cutterbar it's just dead weight. I called Dave Moline at deere to ask about it and he treated me like a shithead and said I don't even know what you're talking about. They know.
@@stirv6462the macdons are a better header
@@ethanschultz960 Not entirely. I have both. The HDF is far more convenient with the float mechanisms being hydraulic. Just zero setup and adjustable from the cab. But the macdon is better I'd say overall. Getting short beans getting more beans the macdon wins. Deere wings really drop nicer, the wing balance never quite let's our macdon drop. The deere drops as it should.
If you take a draperhead of 50ft will it not start giving problems bringing it all to the middle to get it in to the Combine?
Or are the draperbelt turning faster then?
some soil types yield best with compaction. Old timers had to till to get planter to go in, not an issue today so only till every other year to increase compaction
Seems like a good number of people been having problems with them. When they work. Pretty good. A farmer by us demoed one.
It brokedown during the demo.
Some been having good luck though.
Congratulations on the X9!
The x9 closest to me had a 50f head and they said it still wasn’t enough head in 100bu wheat.
The ladder may get bent? What's the kindling temperature of wheat straw? Truck engine idling, exhaust system heating up, and the ladder is a worry?
Since sunday were sitting at 2.8 inches 2 just today east central illinois marshall area
Had a total of Probaly 5 inches today alone
A very large farmer in our area said his x9 harvests as much as two of his previous machines.
Exelente maquinq la johon deere en argentina somo fanaticos de la marca 👏👏👏👏💯🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Six foot high corn lodged wheat and worried the "BEANS" dry year too short for the X9 center of the head.... Must not know how dry it is 15:00 Chad Kroeger "Nickelback" Song at and around their Hometown Hannah Alberta!!!
Congrats on the X9 1100. It's a beast for sure. What size corn head you gonna run Alex? Get a folding head. Take care.

CHECK YOUR BELTS. Our x9 1000 blows out belts like crazy. not saying yours will but just keep your eyes up
I grew up with case ih,im sure its not that bad i wouldn't mind demoing it.
I watched the whole video I did not see any disaster looks to me like every thing is running very smooth
Thats called clickbait and channels that resort to that to get watchers usually have boring content. I won't be subscribing.
@@beesbo1856 i won't be watching also lol
I watched only A little and decided too leave
Is that hd45 a F or R? We got a HD40R on our s
770 and a HD50R on our x9
1" of rain in SW MN (Redwood Co) overnight
we bent the ladder so much it was crap, took it off and put a chain ladder with rungs. That means you need two hands and have to put your camera down to climb in. It's a JD and most states don't have right to repair on them. The Gov signed a right to repair bill and JD STILL will not release any codes
Awesome looking X9 combine Alex
Where are the videos with Alex doing those jobs?
Interesting
Alex needs a nap 😴
My favorite line 😂
Sounds like Alex needs a nap then
Pitter Patter bud!
Buying a John Deere would be a disaster! Just like Brown Family Farm in Ohio, they have purchased several hundred thousand dollar equipment every year. They are doing well.
would a Crary wind system help with harvesting down beans/wheat in your situation?
Most definitely
So yeah nice
Seen enough Bye
How much money did the x9 cost.
We ran a variety of colors IH,White and Deere. Corn never complained about what brand planted.
So. Yeah.
Nice X9
I clicked on this to find out something and then left because I see no disaster.
End rows better? Possibly better air flow!?!
It is about the soil, the biodynamics, I spent a few $ on a high end soil, tissue sample, now I feed Humics, Fulvic in the irrigation and wow the yield increase is awesome.
Misleading title to the video. You seem pretty happy with the X9 so far.
wheat turn ok?...y'allk planting soy beans behind wheat?
When Ross was filming you were not taking a full cut with the header. You say you need a bigger header to keep the machine full but then weren't taking a full cut. Also I have never heard a "head". Usually a "header". I guess they are similar, just sounds wrong to my ears. Nice combine though.
That's a million dollar combine plus the head cost ,so what's the payment on that per month lol ,wtf u guys deffently ain't hurting then
to run the bigger heads you damn near have to land plane all your ground so it is more easy to run that big of head
Not to bad here
All the guys most of them say 30 feet big as head as they need with all the terraces and burms we have my area in northern Missouri cross the creek from Quincy Illinois
@@paulprigge1209 Ill take 25 ft. even better for damn terraces...
What is your Pick Up Diesel Or Gas??
Almost all of our trucks are diesal
Why would you call the X9 a disaster when it’s clear You really like it?
clickbait
Your comparing a new x9 to a 780 lexion?
Haven't seen the "disaster" yet. Click-bait? Otherwise, neat video. Nothin' runs like a Deere I guess!
I guess he thinks we are as dumb as he looks
Let me guess, the cup holders are hard to reach.
I suppose that is the "disaster"
The leather seat heat control knob is a little inconvenient
Did you say they were looking for coal???
What did you expect. Your wanna be a farmer cousin was an engineer on it.
Y’all hiring? I’m looking for a move.
Going from 3 combines to 2?
That’s the plan
@@lrruschfarms6352that’s what we did
Most equipment problems are operator related. John Deere will always be first.
30 years later than other companies with rotor or quid track's, I wouldn't call that first 😂
Dude you grumble too much
I agree. Whinging about everything
@@justinemagson1767 I guess it's just another inexperience farmer that thinks he knows everything about farming but doesn't know nothing.
@justinemagson1767 he reminds me of that border view farms character, always bitching about something
We a do not think alike! Good thing!
So maybe not such a disaster after all?
2400 bushel an hour is pretty weak for the claims that they were bragging for that machine lmao.. i can get that or better with an old 580 lexion.. never mind the new lexions are probably closer to 4k bushel and hour
I can't wait to see that X9 in that high volume Midwest corn.
I’m excited
I believe the millenial farmer ran an x9 in some videos awhile back. If I remember right, he was cutting up to 7200 bushels an hour of corn in one field. 5500 to over 6000 in some other fields.
Head also has 4 more tires that will go flat. Not pestimistic just a realist.
Soo, rather than this combine/header combination, you would recommend two smaller combines with headers to match, with accompanying twice the large tires and only eliminating the four small header tires ?!?! (included, of course, would be the second operator, etc., etc., etc.!!!)
The John Deere X9 Combines are game-changers!, much like Deere's first STS flagship model, the 9750 STS was in year 2000 !! At that time, the capacity of the first Deere class 7 machines exceeded many grain handling systems !! Many 9750 STS purchasers also eliminated one 9600 combine down the road...
This farmer's criticism of his new piece of equipment, I'm embarrassed to now admit these many years later, reminds me of back in the day when I had to fork over a big chunk of money for a new, much needed piece of equipment and I kind of got even with the company that sold me the "overpriced" equipment by complaining and insisting that everything be "corrected" and made "perfect" which was what everything was pretty much anyway, and again, I am now embarrassed to admit. The point is that "maybe" the problem is not so much with the new X9 but the cost of the new X9 that this young farmer is still having trouble getting used to? I'm laughing and snickering at this "kid" and his new "overpriced" toy, but I'm also laughing and snickering at a much younger, more foolish me. Then again, maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, and he should just send the thing back and get a refund?
I hear ya..I will take my paid for 9650 straw walker
@@davehughesfarm7983 Oh, if only..., if only I would have NOT purchased a particular piece of equipment, but this farmer is young, and he will probably end up getting his money's worth out of it.
i can't understand how any farmer can afford a million dollar machine like this.. I must be too old
@@davidbell7091 It is unbelievable, and even though I'm a city slicker, I'm a farmer at heart and the prices these young farmers pay for equipment is scary. When I win the Powerball jackpot Saturday night, I'm going to use a lot of my winnings to purchase a farm and then I'll just use the rest of my winnings to keep on farming until it's all gone.
@@davidbell7091 My uncle, my brother and I own a 23 year old JD combine.. Last year several neighboring farmers seemed to have the dealer service trucks out there a lot..We just kept cutting along doing 99% of repair ourselves..

We're not in hard times yet... It can get much worse.
Waiting for the high interest rates and low commodity prices like in the 80s.

I’m surprised nowadays some scumbag hasn’t tried stealing the fuel or the whole tank from one of those pivots that x9 looks awesome hopefully it will be a great machine for you guys every machine has little things that could be better lol thanks for sharing
We keep them locked
The residue is better because its a twin rotor. NH has always been leaving residue behind it like that forever. You realise you're basically running a CR. You JD guys are so fricken funny. How long before everyone of you is running a green Hagie bragging about how great the front boom is?
Never. Because the Hagie sprayer is a terrible machine even out Deere dealership hate them. JD makes equipment that actually works which is why they are so popular.
The reason for JD's success is they let someone else do their R&D.
Nothing But the Best John Deere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🤓
"Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌 👍 🇺🇲
Get you a Red combine and you will love it more buddy!!
The plants next to the roads grow better because of the higher level of carbon dioxide from our polluting gasoline vehicles on the roads!!!
Yeh, go electric and starve, not only for food, but fresh oxygen.
I assume you are joking but outer rows do better because of more access to sunlight. There have been farmers experimenting with strip cropping at various times over the years, we did it for about 10 years in a few fields and found it did increase corn yields but cut bean yields in the adjacent strips and is not very compatible with modern large equipment. We were 6 row ridge till and no till at the time.
@@999pr1 I am not joking. Downtown urban trees grow faster that rural trees. They need carbon dioxide which is more plentiful near our streets and rosds.
Agree with the More Sunlight and Intercrop planting method of corn and soybeans. They often discuss it on “Total Acre Farming” on RFD TV.
More carbon dioxide from cars likely does cause trees to grow faster in cities, but rural farmland does not receive the high concentration of CO2 emissions like you would find along densely populated city streets.
So the disaster headline was crap in honesty
either red neck humour, or trying to squeeze out a few more views.
I'm a moonshine sipper straight slippin in the darkness Bucka bucka you ain't never met a mother fu?$$r quite like me
Looks awful short it ain't no 6 foot!!
The X series is a joke, John Deere guys are bragging about production levels that the competition has had for almost 20 years. They ran the x-series against lexion and in typical fashion it wasn't the biggest lexion but it did a better sample had less loss use less fuel, and I can guarantee you the cost of operation would be much less for maintenance and repair.
John Deere builds the worst combines in the industry. The sts stands for shity thrashing system. With the two German combine the John Deere was the easiest combine the demo again. Whenever a Salesman said hey can you meet me here on this date I'm doing a demo against the John Deere I laughed and couldn't wait to get there. Their cost of operation, their longevity of the combine, the fuel used and then the horrible grain tank sample and high losses.
Older John Deere’s are better

@@haydentaylor8651 fantastic old machines.
Your comment isn’t factual. JD number 1 in the world. Farmers are smart and won’t buy so many JD if they are as bad as you falsely claim. PAMI test is very objective and contradicts everything you said. Best dealers too. Nothing Runs Like A Deere.
@yougotmossed3592
The 595 is well over 10 years before the X9 came to Market and has been putting out them kind of performance numbers.
At the Farm Progress show, which is North America's Big Show, John Deere people ran against the Lexicon people, and the lexion performed better.
Check your facts again. Claas is the worldwide leader in combine sales.
John Deere is built-in obsolescence . The 9610 will still be going strong long after the x9s are patched up welded up made in China and Korea parts
No green on our farm can’t jus the price of green paint
All green here, and historically, my grandpa and great grandpa went from horses to 2 cylinder Deere’s, all the way until the late 60’s when they went to Internationals. Farming skipped a generation in my family, but I choose Deere for the dealer support in my area, and the fact that a Deere is a Deere, not a patched together combination of different companies all over the world. One of those companies ceases to exist, and they built certain parts for a piece of equipment you own, you might not be able to get it
Plus, I’ve made a profit on every piece of Deere equipment I’ve ever purchased.
