Guppet is the only exception to that because not only does it look challenging at a glance, but it’s art style mimics the corpse floors and it’s design is based around a notable character from Issac
I gotta agree, looking at this. Guppet is an amazing idea, and putting it in Corpse is really fitting. I think the Necrospyder is pretty good too! The Summoner/Immortal is almost there, but that one ghost face that shows up at one point in the video is jarring. The others all just seem a *little* out of place, although honestly in terms of mechanics the umbrella one is pretty cool and fitting.
Pyroplume in ash pit makes sense. And new bosses shouldn’t have to be related to other stuff in isaac, then bosses would be super repetitive / less new feeling. Also compared to other bosses on the floor the downpour and dross bosses attacks make sense. The big chicken just see me random though even if it is super cool
@@sircumference8281 I agree with pyroplume being on Ashpit. Given it’s literally a Phoenix, and ashpit/mines have a fiery aesthetic, it fits well. My problem more comes from the actual sprites of the bosses if anything (tho devilcrow is completely out of place in every regard imo). I love the design of all the bosses on their own, but it just doesn’t sit right when it’s surrounded by Isaacs art style
I like the simplicity and details to the alt floors as well as the artwork and detail put to them, some examples include: *The Abandoned fight each time you hit her, you can see her actual body ( Kogasa, with a pure white hue to it like the enemies that walk with a white body ) while she holds her umbrella as well as her defeat dialogue when she retreats will say boo at the top left/right screen *Pyroplume getting progressively harder with newer attack patterns as well as artwork changes for each form *Devilcrow looks like a Metal Gear enemy with a variety of attacks fit for its design, including the extra feature of a insta kill attack that only occurs if you stay in the green light for too long, sound effects for the attacks, and being a mechanical boss that dosnt look out of place or weird in Isaac standards *Guppet attack pattern and model is a nice touch to guppy and the floor’s theme of rot and decay, the constant change from fly spam to spider hops, attacks that have Guppet’s tail turn into a halo, and the shots with constant blood shots and the slowly closing in brimstone attack that gives The Scourge vibes Overall a very good mod with alot of work and effort into it
The Centipede is not Wriggle. That's completely the wrong type of bug, not to mention the wrong environment. She's actually based on Momoyo Himemushi from Unconnected Marketeers. Necrospyder is based on Yamame from Subterranean Animism, who fits a lot more, being a poisonous spider.
so let's see, these bosses are based off (in order): Kogasa, pretty much what is shown in this mod Yamame, a spider who manipulates diseases Momoyo, a centipede that lives and works in a mine Mokou, an immortal human possessed by a phoenix Seiga, a wicked hermit that has a zombie named Yoshika Utsuho, a hellraven with the power of nucularfusion and the sun unsure, either Alice (a puppeteer) or Orin (a cat who carries corpses in a wheelbarrow)
Which Touhous the bosses are inspired from: The Adandoned - Kogasa Tatara Necrospyder - Yamame Kurodani The Centipede - Momoyo Himemushi Pyroplume - Fujiwara no Mokou The Summoner & the Immortal - Seiga Kaku & Yoshika Miyako Devilcrow - Utsuho Reiuji Guppet - this one I'm least surre about, but will go with Chen.
for that extra Isaac flavored heartbreak, Guppet could make a sad little meow as it dies. you know, in case the depressing story about a kid who suffocated to death wasn't enough. we can rub in the fact that his pet cat is dead
i wonder what happen if you fight the abandoned in the mirror version of the floor, like the enemies in the normal floor only can see then in the water reflection, but if you are in the mirror they appear normally.
I love that a few of these feel very isaac, the spider and summoner especially. Guppet looks like an isaac boss, but it's attack patterns look way too difficult
you don't, so you better not play as tainted lost with this mod on! (if there's an actual way without items or pills/cards/runes then ignore what i said)
We will wait for the new showcase video with great patience. Your channel basically makes up for the fact I play on console and cannot use the debug console! Thanks!
They could make a thing which makes guppet always appear on corpse if you haven't picked up a guppy item in your run, that'd be cool and another reason to go devil deals even tho its not too strong of a reason?
I wouldn't make it a guarantee, though. Guppy items are quite rare even if you're looking for them, so having Guppet always appear as the boss in Corpse would make the other bosses not appear in 90% of runs.
@@EnrocaLaRoca I've got an idea, a formed version of guppy always appears as the 2nd floor boss, when you beat him, mom slams a knife into guppy, chopping him into pieces, before the pieces hit the ground mom scoops them up, pulls them away and laughs. from then on you can find guppy pieces scattered around, if you find all of them you open a secret path to fight this boss instead of the normal corpse bosses, it'd be buffed to fit an actual main boss, and when you beat it there is an ending where isaac is trying to fit the pieces back together to no avail, isaac collapses into tears and it fades to black
love the concepts of these bosses! guppet is SUPER impressive, i could honestly see something similar as a final boss one day. pyroplume is also really nicely done, and devilcrow is a very interesting fight to watch! i don't know a whole lot about touhou, but these bosses are really refreshing to see in a game like isaac.
Reverie is def the second best mod on the workshop, I will fight for that. The fact it has an entirely new ending is already absolutely insane on it's own. Especially because it is strictly harder than every other isaac boss, it feels so good to get it kek
where bosses should go the abandoned:downpour necrospyder: corpse because its literrally dead the centiped: caves because it fits the color scheme better and a mine does not have as many bugs pyrolume: ashpit the summoner & the immortal: mausoleum devilcrow: nerf + mausoleum guppet: nerf + catacombs because i think its amount of dead would fit the catacombs theme better besides necrospyder already has corpse also it doesnt have enough flys for the corpse
All the Touhou references I can spot: The Abandoned: Kosaga Tatara Necrospyder: Yamame Kurodani The Centipede: Momoyo Himemushi Pyroplume: Mokou Fujiwarano (and isn't funny how this fight is structured like non-spells in Windows-Era Touhou?) The Summoner and The Immortal: Possibly Eirin and Kaguya Devilcrow: Utsuho Reijui Guppet: Alice Margatroid(?)
you can't reverse Mokou's name, first it isn't Fujiwarano, it's Fujiwara no, and you can't reverse it since it's not a first name and last name, the name Fujiwara no Mokou means something like "Mokou of the Fujiwaras"
The way Guppet imitates Bosses, that one's plain amazing I really like them all, though some don't fit into Isaac stylistically (like the radioactive metal thing)
Really happy to see some more people talking about this mod, it’s definitely one of my all-time favorite, especially for its items (there’s like a hundred of them and most of those have very very cool concepts)
man the bosses are suprisingly fitting aside from like the umbrella and devilcrow, but even then the umbrella boss has some really cool patterns that´d fit into the game well
So here's a fun fact about this mod's creator: he's making a Plants vs Zombies x Minecraft x Touhou fangame called Minecraft vs Zombies 2 (MvZ1 was simply a PvZ1 mod).
Even though guppet is dead you can tell they don't want to do this to Isaac especially how the paws have to force the head to attack the center at one point
Devilcrow reminds me a lot of the rat fight from enter the gungeon. Cool stuff in these all round though, especially loved the Phoenix and summoner boss ideas
@@lordpumpkinhead265 sounds like I gave you the wrong impression. I haven't forgotten what phoenixes are. My point was the *model* for Pyroplume is an identical copy of Pyros from Hearthstone. As in, he visually looks very similar to Pyros' 3 models specifically.
Mmm...i like the concept of the bosses but i have something i want to change: 1 the umbrela one:would be better If it was Just a broken flying umbrella and you can see in the water reflexes the rest of the creature,i imagine It looking like a demon like the adversary or the siren (but clearlly a New demon). Now the 2,necrospider:i think It fits Very well,i Just think that like...its a boring Boss? It shoots tears and spawn spider, where the news? I imagine it jumping from wall to wall and when doing it,It would shot lots of tears on every direction, maybe It would spawn dead spiders too or resurrect them...idk. Now the 3 one:the centipede. I think its a Fine Boss, maybe Just make It bigger so look the same size as the other bosses and do something:If It break every rock in the arena,It disappears, like bumbo and baby plum. the 4,the fire bird thing. It is a ashpit fight right?and It doesnt fit much Isaac,so i imagine being like ...a urn and from It comes a grey and giant version of the dead bird with ash particles and all, when you kill it the urn break into bits. The 5 one,the summoner and immortal,First...choose a name:its the summoner or the immortal,2 names in a single boss is rare. Its a pretty good Boss for the mausoleum,Just refine the art, make the summoner diferent than a normal cultist(like, give to him 3 eyes, change his robe to Full black and make his attacks in white...idk),and its fine, oh make the random thunders from above when It dies to have a delay and take Just a part of the arena (i imagine playing with the Lost against It and dying to this attack) 6,devil crow:i like to have a robot boss in the game(already have monstro 2 but...its a Cyborg, its diferent),like in artstyle i would change it off from being a bird or a crow, have another appearance, like a kids robot toy. Or something that fits gehenna. Second: remove the hit kill laser attack, this should not exist,or at least balance it like ...make that It let you with 1 red heart when hit, would be better. I think removing it and fight is good for the part Now the last one, gurpet:i fucking love this boss and it fits the game,i think It should just stop using lasers attacks from the paws and shoot more flies. Maybe shoot a ray of flies like hush. Or shoot dead locusts, would fit a lot. Oh and making the art better would be good too. Well i think its all
So if the bosses (almost) all have a design basis from Touhou: The Abandoned: Definitely, 100% Kogasa. Umbrella’s the same and all. Even has an invisible silhouette of her! Necrospyder: Yamame. Spider motif + the toxic gas clouds to replicate her disease powers. The Centipede: Probably Momoyo, but that’s a stretch. She has centipede motifs and is a miner (hence her appearance place and the rocks w/ gold)… Pyroplume: Mokou, definitely. Phoenix motifs, revival (she actually dies and revives between spell cards in her home game), etc… The Summoner and The Immortal: Probably the biggest stretch, but Yoshika and Seiga is the best that comes to mind, due to the master-servant thing and Yoshika being undead, but I’m not sure. Devilcrow: Nuclear crow? Utshuo, hands down. Nobody else fits. Guppet: I…actually don’t think this one has a Touhou basis, though it could be because I don’t know enough about it. The only one I could think of that could possibly fit is Alice Margatroid due to the puppet stuff, but that’s literally it.
I like the abondoned and how it was based off of one of the yokai - aka japanese monster spirits. In this case, the abandoned umbrella. Pyroplume is my favorite.
Wow, these are all super cool! I especially love TheAbandoned being based off a yokai, and the millipede being based off that one cryptid I forget everything about. And Devilcrow and Guppet are deliciously off the wall.
Everything except possibly Guppet is based off Touhou. That yokai is a specific character with the "power to surprise people" which she's usually not good at using (the "boo" at the end is usually the extent of it, until she shows up as the midboss of the last stage with the power up you'd expect from that)
@@MixaCat It's apparently based on a centipede yokai character, much like we have a nuclear raven from hell that doesn't actually look like the one from Touhou.
the corpse is literary a dead body, so there's a child crying and fighting someone controlling a dead cat inside his dead mother. That's my favorite game.
okokok im gonna do some THEORIZING ABOUT THE REFS OF SOME OF THESE BOSSES... The Abandoned - if you played touhou its really obvious, its just kogasa's umbrella and her silhouette but whited out, its also called "the abandoned" because she refers to herself as an "abandoned umbrella" in the games. The Centipede - This ones more of a reach, but it might be a momoyo reference, since her card in th18 (the game shes in) is called "gluttonous centipede", and she eats rocks (which is what the boss does). Not too sure about this one. Devilcrow - extremely obvious, its utsuho/okuu. It has nuclear signs on it (her spellcards always have a "WARNING!" and said nuclear signs going across the screen when its first activated), it fires bombs/nukes, and okuu is basically in hell (hence the name Devilcrow i'd assume) and the boss even uses the alarm that plays for the "warning!" in the spellcards when it dies. The secret bosses are also very obvious touhou references, but i'll talk about that later. also couldve explained these way better, sorry im not good at explaining things. ok stupid littl touhou fan out :)
The Abandoned - Kogasa Pyroplume - Fujiwara no Mokou The Summoner and The Immortal - Seiga and Yoshika Devilcrow - Utsohu Centipede - I don't know Necrospyder - Yamame I think those are all the references
I think not only Guppet would fit in the vanilla, but Sunmoner and Immortal could fit great too, they just need to change immortal's sprite and give summoner some purple-ish attacks so it could fit mausoleum
why you don't like anything Touhou related ? Problem with community ? I never saw someone who doesn't like Touhou, that new to me, so I'm curious (not here to blame you, just curious !)
The animations looks a bit janky, the style feels odd, and most of these are more annoying or unfair instead of actually difficult bosses, but it has some great potential.
I don't know how to really get into the Touhou series and it's something I've been wanting to do for a while. Just looking at the games (even translated) doesn't seem to show much
This is one of those mods while I feel it's really well made and I think the bosses are pretty well made, a lot of the bosses just don't feel like they fit in with TBOI, and while the Guppy one does feel like it would probably fit, it's artsyle is what makes it still not seem like it fits actually I feel like a good amount could fit in TBOI but their main problem is their character design and artsyle, I'm not saying they're bad either it's just a lot of them don't fit the character design of TBOI or it's artsyle
I mean... that's kind of the point. Most are meant to be takes on bosses from the Touhou Project. The only ones I can't really see a solid connection to a Touhou boss with is Guppet. The Abandoned is perhaps the most blatant one, outright being Kogasa Tatara from Undefined Fantastic Object, a Karakasa-Obake who's... not actually very good at surprising people (Hence the little Boo~ at the top left of the room after you defeat her, which is about the extent of her surprises). Necrospyder seems to be a take on Yamame Kurodani from Subterranean Animism, given the heavy emphasis on poison and spiders, referecing her nature as a tsuchigumo. The Centipede is Momoyo Himemushi from Unconnected Marketeers. This is a pretty on-the nose reference, as Momoyo's a centipede youkai who works in mines. Pyroplume is an obvious take on Fujiwara no Mokou from Imperishable Night, given the Phoenix imagery and multiple lives. Devilcrow is Utsuho Reiuji from Subterranean Animism, if Utsuho was a giant robot. It's even nuclear powered, just like the bird. Summoner/Immortal seems to be a reference to Seiga Kaku and Yoshika Miyako from Ten Desires, a Taoist hermit and her Jiang Shi servant, which makes sense when you consider the Summoner (Seiga) using an undead servant (Yoshika) to attack. Hanging out in the Mausoleum helps, too.
So the centipede, if it eats a special rock (tinted or fools gold) does it drop the rewards every time one if jts segments is destroyed then it eats them again?
Man, I can't get over how clever these are!! It's Touhou without being blatantly Touhou (mostly). A fan is able to pick out who is who but it's not too disruptive for people unfamiliar with the series. For some explanations: The Abandoned is Kogasa Tatara. Just straight up Kogasa, who uses bullet hell attacks like raindrops. It's her umbrella and you can see the outline of her body in her signature pose. It even says "Boo~" at the end, which is like her catchphrase. Probably my least favorite because it's so on-the-nose and out of place. Necrospyder is Yamame Kurodani. She's a spider youkai (Japanese spirit/monster) that can manipulate disease. The Centipede is Momoyo Himemushi. She's a centipede youkai. In the Touhou game she appears in, her job is mining in a cave. Pyroplume is Fujiwara no Mokou. Mokou is an immortal with fire abilities and a phoenix motif. She's generally quite self destructive and a common theme in her attacks is killing herself in her attacks then reviving, which is what Pyroplume does here. The Summoner and The Immortal is Seiga Kaku and Yoshika Miyako. Wasn't sure about this one at first, but seeing as they mainly reside in a Mausoleum both in Touhou and here, that cemented it. Seiga is a hermit who revived and controls Yoshika, who is a jiangshi (Chinese zombie). Very loose connection but the setting is clever. Devilcrow is Utsuho Reiuji. Usuho is a hell raven that was given the power of the sun god, Yatagarasu (which is a crow with three legs), and can create stars with nuclear fusion. She's heavily associated with nuclear power, radiation, and that trefoil with the sirens. Another kinda weird one with The Abandoned. The inspiration is seen in Devilcrow being called "devil" when Utsuho basically lives in Hell, having three legs like Yatagarasu and having an eye on its chest like Utsuho, and having the nuclear trefoil on it. Only one I can't figure out is Guppet. I like the idea that it's based around Alice, who is a puppeteer. She uses strings to make her dolls fly around and fight. I'm assuming Reverie will be based on Marisa (one of her signature spells is called Stardust Reverie) not sure because I can't find anyone fighting it, and Doremy Sweet is literally just Doremy Sweet, a baku who eats and creates dreams. Edit: Reverie is completely music themed and has very direct references to multiple different characters and absolutely AMAZING

*The Abandoned fight each time you hit her, you can see her actual body ( Kogasa, with a pure white hue to it like the enemies that walk with a white body ) while she holds her umbrella as well as her defeat dialogue when she retreats will say boo at the top left/right screen
*Pyroplume getting progressively harder with newer attack patterns as well as artwork changes for each form
*Devilcrow looks like a Metal Gear enemy with a variety of attacks fit for its design, including the extra feature of a insta kill attack that only occurs if you stay in the green light for too long, sound effects for the attacks, and being a mechanical boss that dosnt look out of place or weird in Isaac standards
*Guppet attack pattern and model is a nice touch to guppy and the floor’s theme of rot and decay, the constant change from fly spam to spider hops, attacks that have Guppet’s tail turn into a halo, and the shots with constant blood shots and the slowly closing in brimstone attack that gives The Scourge vibes
Overall a very good mod with alot of work and effort into it
The Abandoned - Kogasa Tatara
Necrospyder - Yakumo Yukari (or more specifically, her theme)
The Centipede - Wriggle Nightbug
Pyroplume - Fujiwara No Mokou
The Summoner & The Immortal - Seiga Nyan Nyan & Yoshika
Devilcrow - Okuu (Utsuho Reiuji)
Guppet - Alice Margatroid
The Centipede is not Wriggle. That's completely the wrong type of bug, not to mention the wrong environment. She's actually based on Momoyo Himemushi from Unconnected Marketeers.
Necrospyder is based on Yamame from Subterranean Animism, who fits a lot more, being a poisonous spider.
Kogasa, Yamame, Momoyo, Mokou, Seiga and Yoshika, Utsuho, Alice
so let's see, these bosses are based off (in order):
Kogasa, pretty much what is shown in this mod
Yamame, a spider who manipulates diseases
Momoyo, a centipede that lives and works in a mine
Mokou, an immortal human possessed by a phoenix
Seiga, a wicked hermit that has a zombie named Yoshika
Utsuho, a hellraven with the power of nucularfusion and the sun
unsure, either Alice (a puppeteer) or Orin (a cat who carries corpses in a wheelbarrow)
I didn't think of Alice or Orin for Guppet, but both make a lot of sense!
Finally, someone talking about the reverie mod
Devilcrow: the first mechanical mod boss in isaac and also the first enemy to have an attack that can kill you no matter how much hp you have
Which Touhous the bosses are inspired from:
The Adandoned - Kogasa Tatara
Necrospyder - Yamame Kurodani
The Centipede - Momoyo Himemushi
Pyroplume - Fujiwara no Mokou
The Summoner & the Immortal - Seiga Kaku & Yoshika Miyako
Devilcrow - Utsuho Reiuji
Guppet - this one I'm least surre about, but will go with Chen.
I heard someone say Guppet is Alice, which makes sense.
for that extra Isaac flavored heartbreak, Guppet could make a sad little meow as it dies. you know, in case the depressing story about a kid who suffocated to death wasn't enough. we can rub in the fact that his pet cat is dead
Thank you for making a review of this mod. I was highly annoyed that the original mod had no previews of the bosses at all!
Now isaac players too can dodge the shower!
i wonder what happen if you fight the abandoned in the mirror version of the floor, like the enemies in the normal floor only can see then in the water reflection, but if you are in the mirror they appear normally.
I love that a few of these feel very isaac, the spider and summoner especially. Guppet looks like an isaac boss, but it's attack patterns look way too difficult
So how do you dodge the death explosion from devilcrow?
Probably behind the pillars, Haven't tested it but it would make a lot of sense ^^
you don't, so you better not play as tainted lost with this mod on!
(if there's an actual way without items or pills/cards/runes then ignore what i said)
My guess is that you need to hide behind the pillars
@@ouiouibaguet258 you hide behind the pillars.
>Centipede
>Drops pennies that it picks up to heal its other segments
okay, that's kinda clever
I wish Guppet was in the vanilla game. Maybe with more unique animations and as a final boss. Hopefully in Isaac 2 one day.
We will wait for the new showcase video with great patience. Your channel basically makes up for the fact I play on console and cannot use the debug console! Thanks!
They could make a thing which makes guppet always appear on corpse if you haven't picked up a guppy item in your run, that'd be cool and another reason to go devil deals even tho its not too strong of a reason?
reward for beating guppet should always be a guppy item
@@EnrocaLaRoca fair point, even more when corpse is a place you are not usually visiting
Everyone taking about guppet. But I also think necrospider fits like vanila corpse boss
0:58 Boooo ~
Ok, Kogasa and Okuu make sense in their respective stages.
Also, haha nuclear birb goes boom
I really liked The Abandoned, Devilcrow and Guppet. Looking forward those secret final bosses as well
love the concepts of these bosses! guppet is SUPER impressive, i could honestly see something similar as a final boss one day. pyroplume is also really nicely done, and devilcrow is a very interesting fight to watch! i don't know a whole lot about touhou, but these bosses are really refreshing to see in a game like isaac.
Ah touhou and isaac,my favorites franchises
5:18 Diablo 2 Reference?
Nihlatak death Animation...
These bosses or those kind of bosses that make you appreciate all the speed ups you got
Guppet is one of the coolest bosses I’ve seen in a while. It should totally drop a Guppy item tho on kill instead of a normal boss room one lol
Reverie is def the second best mod on the workshop, I will fight for that.
The fact it has an entirely new ending is already absolutely insane on it's own. Especially because it is strictly harder than every other isaac boss, it feels so good to get it kek
second best is a huge overestimate
where bosses should go
the abandoned:downpour
necrospyder: corpse because its literrally dead
the centiped: caves because it fits the color scheme better and a mine does not have as many bugs
pyrolume: ashpit
the summoner & the immortal: mausoleum
devilcrow: nerf + mausoleum
guppet: nerf + catacombs because i think its amount of dead would fit the catacombs theme better besides necrospyder already has corpse also it doesnt have enough flys for the corpse
All the Touhou references I can spot:
The Abandoned: Kosaga Tatara
Necrospyder: Yamame Kurodani
The Centipede: Momoyo Himemushi
Pyroplume: Mokou Fujiwarano (and isn't funny how this fight is structured like non-spells in Windows-Era Touhou?)
The Summoner and The Immortal: Possibly Eirin and Kaguya
Devilcrow: Utsuho Reijui
Guppet: Alice Margatroid(?)
you can't reverse Mokou's name, first it isn't Fujiwarano, it's Fujiwara no, and you can't reverse it since it's not a first name and last name, the name Fujiwara no Mokou means something like "Mokou of the Fujiwaras"
The way Guppet imitates Bosses, that one's plain amazing
I really like them all, though some don't fit into Isaac stylistically (like the radioactive metal thing)
Actually the idea of Guppet is really brilliant
"mom, I want Delirium!"
"We have Delirium at home"
Delirium at home: 6:21
Necrospyder looks interesting.
Other bosses: actually fit the floor to a certain extent
Gehanna: IT'S GUNDAM TIME
Cool bosses from a mechanical sense, but like most people here I agree that some don't make sense thematically
Really happy to see some more people talking about this mod, it’s definitely one of my all-time favorite, especially for its items (there’s like a hundred of them and most of those have very very cool concepts)
It's always just a random mod until a showcase for it pops up in your recommended
Every one of them isn't only well done, but also thematically consistent with the other bosses from the same floor (except Devilcrow)
man the bosses are suprisingly fitting aside from like the umbrella and devilcrow, but even then the umbrella boss has some really cool patterns that´d fit into the game well
I shit myself when I saw Kogasa.
Guppet needs a buff, Rotgut exists.
So here's a fun fact about this mod's creator: he's making a Plants vs Zombies x Minecraft x Touhou fangame called Minecraft vs Zombies 2 (MvZ1 was simply a PvZ1 mod).
I feel like devilcrow is a huge outlier in difficulty here lol
seems an easier fight than than the other tech-based mod boss, the Rotten Devil
Guppet actually would make for a neat boss. Idk about the others though
The Diablo 2 reference they snuck in with the Summoner is a great touch.
I want delirium!
We have delirium at home
Delirium at home: 6:22
Pyroplume is literally Pyros from Hearthstone. Even has the whole double reincarnation gimmick where he gets stronger after each death.
That's cause Pyro is a Phoenix. The whole mythology of a phoenix is that when they die, they come back stronger.
5:30
A weapon to surpass Metal Gear!
I just saw this was posted on my birthday and that’s cool
Mmm...i like the concept of the bosses but i have something i want to change:
1 the umbrela one:would be better If it was Just a broken flying umbrella and you can see in the water reflexes the rest of the creature,i imagine It looking like a demon like the adversary or the siren (but clearlly a New demon).
Its a pretty good Boss for the mausoleum,Just refine the art, make the summoner diferent than a normal cultist(like, give to him 3 eyes, change his robe to Full black and make his attacks in white...idk),and its fine, oh make the random thunders from above when It dies to have a delay and take Just a part of the arena (i imagine playing with the Lost against It and dying to this attack)
6,devil crow:i like to have a robot boss in the game(already have monstro 2 but...its a Cyborg, its diferent),like in artstyle i would change it off from being a bird or a crow, have another appearance, like a kids robot toy.
Or something that fits gehenna.
Second: remove the hit kill laser attack, this should not exist,or at least balance it like ...make that It let you with 1 red heart when hit, would be better.
I think removing it and fight is good for the part
Now the last one, gurpet:i fucking love this boss and it fits the game,i think It should just stop using lasers attacks from the paws and shoot more flies.
Maybe shoot a ray of flies like hush.
Or shoot dead locusts, would fit a lot.
Oh and making the art better would be good too.
Well i think its all
I understand that reference
So if the bosses (almost) all have a design basis from Touhou:
The Abandoned: Definitely, 100% Kogasa. Umbrella’s the same and all. Even has an invisible silhouette of her!
Necrospyder: Yamame. Spider motif + the toxic gas clouds to replicate her disease powers.
The Centipede: Probably Momoyo, but that’s a stretch. She has centipede motifs and is a miner (hence her appearance place and the rocks w/ gold)…
Pyroplume: Mokou, definitely. Phoenix motifs, revival (she actually dies and revives between spell cards in her home game), etc…
The Summoner and The Immortal: Probably the biggest stretch, but Yoshika and Seiga is the best that comes to mind, due to the master-servant thing and Yoshika being undead, but I’m not sure.
That yokai is a specific character with the "power to surprise people" which she's usually not good at using (the "boo" at the end is usually the extent of it, until she shows up as the midboss of the last stage with the power up you'd expect from that)
@@HeraldOfOpera Ohhhhhhh. Makes more sense. Not a big Touhouer
@@HeraldOfOpera what centipede is based on? I didn’t see a thing like that in touhou or I forgot something
@@MixaCat It's apparently based on a centipede yokai character, much like we have a nuclear raven from hell that doesn't actually look like the one from Touhou.
@@HeraldOfOpera ow, I remembered! The centipede is from Asian mythology I think and he is 2,5 mountain diameter long if I’m correct
I saw a preview, i'm not suprised
the corpse is literary a dead body, so there's a child crying and fighting someone controlling a dead cat inside his dead mother. That's my favorite game.
6:00 how do you avoid the nuke attack as lost ?
it seems like you need to get behind the pilars
I don't know if I'm the only one who noticed, but The Summoner fight has sound assets from Diablo 2. I just thought that was pretty cool tbh.
It was very cool to hear. I also love the fact his death is a carbon copy of Nihlathak's death animation
1:58 thats so cool
okokok im gonna do some THEORIZING ABOUT THE REFS OF SOME OF THESE BOSSES...
The Abandoned - Kogasa
Pyroplume - Fujiwara no Mokou
The Summoner and The Immortal - Seiga and Yoshika
Devilcrow - Utsohu
Centipede - I don't know
Necrospyder - Yamame
I think those are all the references
The Centipede is Momoyo Himemushi from Unconected Marketeers.
I think not only Guppet would fit in the vanilla, but Sunmoner and Immortal could fit great too, they just need to change immortal's sprite and give summoner some purple-ish attacks so it could fit mausoleum
Oh god, i remember when the creator uploaded videos on the early versions of Some of this bosses, a lot ago. God the nostalgia
As much as I don't like anything Touhou related, some of these bosses are pretty creative and/or actually catch a legit Isaac vibe for the most part
why you don't like anything Touhou related ? Problem with community ? I never saw someone who doesn't like Touhou, that new to me, so I'm curious (not here to blame you, just curious !)
.
The centipede eating the pickups was pretty cool
The animations looks a bit janky, the style feels odd, and most of these are more annoying or unfair instead of actually difficult bosses, but it has some great potential.
Guppet should have dropped a guppy item instead of a regular boss pool item
I don't know how to really get into the Touhou series and it's something I've been wanting to do for a while. Just looking at the games (even translated) doesn't seem to show much
Does devilcrow just have unavoidable damage at the end?
Also centipede looks like it takes forever to fight
From the room layout, I would imagine you have to hide behind the pillars to avoid getting hit from the explosion
Centipede looks pretty trash, I'm calling it eater of worlds knockoff
Lol that pink pillow leads you to a secret boss which is crazy!
Imagine seeing ur dead cat being used as a puppet and being slapped by it
Traumatizing
5:29 best boss ever
I love how the spider is a worm instead
guppy wouldn't be a boss in the actual game because isaac loves guppy so in his mind he would never fight him
This is one of those mods while I feel it's really well made and I think the bosses are pretty well made, a lot of the bosses just don't feel like they fit in with TBOI, and while the Guppy one does feel like it would probably fit, it's artsyle is what makes it still not seem like it fits actually I feel like a good amount could fit in TBOI but their main problem is their character design and artsyle, I'm not saying they're bad either it's just a lot of them don't fit the character design of TBOI or it's artsyle
I mean... that's kind of the point.
So the centipede, if it eats a special rock (tinted or fools gold) does it drop the rewards every time one if jts segments is destroyed then it eats them again?
i just love guppet
2:58 when an easy boss has too many phases
there's also the alt path horsemen mod that adds a downpour, mines, mausoleum and corpse versions of the 4 horsemen
Imagine if the music of the video being Bad apple
To be frank, only the Guppet fits the setting. The rest is way off of it and doesn't fit at all.
Yeah the others just dont have that issac energy
The abandoned is basically if rainmaker had a sibling
Pretty sure this "Abandoned" umbrella referencing *Tatara Kogasa.*
Man, I can't get over how clever these are!! It's Touhou without being blatantly Touhou (mostly). A fan is able to pick out who is who but it's not too disruptive for people unfamiliar with the series. For some explanations:
The Abandoned is Kogasa Tatara.
I don't think Guppet is a Touhou reference at all. That's just straight up Isaac lore.
I want to say that Guppet is Rin from touhou. She is a cat who job is to trasnport corpses so maybe.
