From what I've heard the only genre of popular music allowed in North Korea is called trot. Like foxtrot. This genre is also alive in South Korea, though just barely. Japan has a similar genre called Enka. It's been around for... roughly 70 years? It's changed a bit over time so difficult to say. Some say it's around 100 years old.

in italy we outsource to north korea many animation series with the famous studio sek that for someone is even behind the lion king , someone even of ours public tv, like the cartoon of the titanic, a series of pocahontas and many spin off of the lion king. Lol I thought there was a project that archived all flash games for offline play. But I assumed the North Korean Internet was not accessible from outside. I guess it was!
I really think it's time people stopped assuming that North Korea is this cartoon villain super evil hell on earth and saw it for what it really is. It's a regular-ass second/third-world country that the US and friends aren't fond of. There's normal people there that do normal things, and they're having a hard time of it. They had the means to make a little flash game, so some people made a little flash game.
crazy part is that there's a reason why North Korea doesn't like US and Friends because they destroyed and destabilized them almost to the point of no return. The fact people assume they are some hellhole is the same reason why they see the USSR as a hellhole too.

What’s hilarious is that the shit car came with an option for a 4G63 engine from Mitsubishi, which was a badass engine.
Flashpoint has a version with a browser that isn't terrabytes massive, it's pretty great I play all the papas games on it, only like 100mb or smth
North Korea and MattKC? Two of one of my favorite topics in one video! I like this!
So happy to see this becoming a video. Was at the stream at the time.
Overseas : We have RTX 3090ti shades
North Korea : 💀
I hate it when I'm driving my Brilliance BS6 through Pyongang and a non-careful driver makes glass shards fly all over the street 😤😤😤
Many flashgames are unplayable. We must restore them.
7:52 8:06 me in North Korea: mom can we go to france
mom: no we have France at home
france at home:
Pyongyang Racer was on danish national television yesterday.
I got an ad telling me to visit Seoul in this video, it's the korean war all over again..
A fun fact that'll make you realize you can't escape being related to Lego Island: The propaganda music of this game is composed using a Yamaha XG MIDI synth, the specific synth is unknown but Lego Island also uses one for the hospital theme
I have watched video of it. Don't look at the officer while at duty
What im getting from this video is, when you slam your door too hard on a bs6 (probably meaning bullshit6), the door will break clean off its hinges.
Congrate on making it work !
Its funny how they just decided: "This car is too dangerous, too many people would die!
...
Lets sell it in china."
I find it impressive how youtube has the game tagged underneath the description
Damn bro nuke simulator 2000 looks good
Game plays normal music without lyrics: "oH iT's PrOPaGaNDaAaA"
in italy we outsource to north korea many animation series with the famous studio sek that for someone is even behind the lion king , someone even of ours public tv, like the cartoon of the titanic, a series of pocahontas and many spin off of the lion king. The funniest is adrian a series of a famous italian singer that in this series is an distopic future so he fight against a dictatorship,
and a series of a men that fight for the freedom of the world is made by a studio in north korea. So this video don't suprise me too much
I really wasn't expecting this to be 3D, I don't think I've ever seen a 3D flash game before, even though I was vaguely aware that it was possible.
run is a popular example of a 3d flash game
I didn't know that I needed to hear MattKC shit-talk about North Korea, when I woke up this morning. But I am 100% here for it now. I haven't laughed this hard in a month! 😂
There’s a worse game than this released only in Iran in the mid-2000s: Driving in Tehran! There’s a video on it here on UA-cam!
Flashpoint claims to have had this game since 2018. Last updated March 2021 and works fine for me

5:22 those 3 american defectors were prisoners of war that defected because it got them out of DPRK prison, and then basically still held against their will to be in those movies. they were labeled traitors by the US govt at the time despite being prisoners. really messed up that people still think they were just making a business decision...
Source: i made that up
They had Pyongyang Racer shirts listed on their website and some friends and I gathered some money and got some shirts and a CD of north korean music from Koryo Tours.
Damn man, You could make the vid 1 second longer, we were on the verge of greatness, we were so close!
21:37???
I use this portable flash player called adobe flash, its about 14mb and all you need is the flash file (.swf) and just drag the flash file to the app and will run. It doesn't need any dependencies.
They should write an adventure game where you try to work out how to win all the medals that their military top brass ALL have.
It might be nothing new or something that has always been possible but seeing a 3D flashgame still baffles me. It looks so cool, it makes me wonder how it was done in just actionscript.
I'm sure the crumple zone was designed to protect the passengers in the trunk... yeah, I think so.
It wold be great seeing you sending the print of the game points to the e-mail mentioned from the koryo airlines, if it still exist
North Korea: copies the arch de triumph
NY Central Park: 😰
I love the graphics tbh, pretty cool mix of 2D and 3D
Yeah nah bro. It isn't regular. People are starving there and there's propaganda everywhere. You can't even turn off the radio
If you think that's what a "second/third world country" is, then you have a lot to learn.
@@UltraCenterHQ uhh? if you live in the states you see starving people everywhere? you dont know anything about the dprk meanwhile homeless people are a staple of america
@@enyo1254 We literally do know what North Korea is like. People who defected from north korea share their experiences. And sometimes they get kidnapped and forced back into north korea and forced to lie about how bad the outside world is. And people are forced to turn on radios and tvs when kim jong un makes a speech. Haven't heard that from the states.
I am impressed that flash can handle that 3D that well.
The racing is as exciting and competitive as the north Korean elections
2:13 OMG I GOT TO SEE MATT CURSE :D
Dude, that car crumples like those cheap stiff brown paper towels in a public school bathroom.
UA-cam works with the way back machine, sometimes
So a car based on B5, developed with Porshe and using borrowed BMW developed solutions made from worse materials than the original. Sounds legit.
The roads are completely empty and the car doesn't have enough gas to get to your destination. Looks extremely accurate.
I definitely recommend the Blowback podcast for an interesting history of the Korean war.
3:26 for a full second I thought it said "Best Rager"
Just one thing about north korea. It‘s not like you have a big chance of dying when going on a trip there. They welcome tourists but it is a completely orchestrated holiday with a tour guide watching you 24/7. there are many documentaries on youtube about it and it‘s such a surreal thing to watch.
Not defending the north korean regime (I mean wtf who does this?) but I thought it might be interested to tell you about those documentaries :)
It is estimated that there are only 30000 personal vehicles in north korea so that should not be a issue. For context Luxemburg which is 1/40th of the population has around the same amount of cars. And since north korea is 48 times larger than Luxemburg in terms of land arena there should not be much traffic jams.
