I'd love to have a drink & a good chat with Shane, he's one of my favorite artists, the man is so talented. You keep enjoying life how you want to. Shane is a living legend.
@JoostVanKommer Hi, he drinks there quite often, its Philly Ryans, silver street nenagh, co tipperary. I dont know if its his favourite pub, but he enjoys spending his time there. thanks for watching :-)
Nice to see Shane just enjoying life. He seems happy and certainly does not cut the tragic figure some people wish him to be (perhaps for their own sake's, I dunno).
Wulfydbll The guy is a raging world champion of alcoholics, he drinks vodka, whiskey wine and beer simultaneously, you can see it in various interviews...he sits there with 4-5 different glasses in front of him. The Guinness is probably water to him.
@@John-lp5xh John Barleycorn is the poetic personification of beer (barley), and ostensibly, alcohol. A tough, hardy man who is nearly impossible to kill (like barley crops). Always reminded me of Shane, here...
Some people just don't get it...this guy comes from rural Ireland (although he lived more in England than there)...it's a place where people give their children Guinness for breakfast. Shane is not an alcoholic...he is a hyper-alcoholic, when he was 5 his relatives would give him two bottles of Guinness a day and his uncle gave him his first bottle of whiskey as a christmas gift when he was 8. This guy was already a heavy drunkard at like 12 years old. Get off his back.
he may be from "rural Ireland", but he hasn't had a normal Irish upbringing! its not normal or healthy to have your 5 year old pissed as a fart. I'm from Irish family myself, I love a drink, usually every day. but FFS, Shane is a basket case. he hasn't done anything note-worthy since the late 80's. he's a walking corpse.
Hes not an alcoholic at all, hes a hard drinking man who enjoys life maybe more poeple should live and enjoying life more like Shane. The man is still walking around he aint dead yet, i bet hes got more years left in him.
colemartinst123 Seriously? His wife says he wakes up at 11 AM, eats a ham sandwich and then downs the first bottle of white wine before hitting the hard liquor till he passes out around 9 PM. He drinks alcohol constantly in all his wake time, jesus...he is the definition itself of a hardcore drunkard alcoholic.
His own wife said he drank a whole bottle of Gin before going on stage. A chronic dependent addiction ravaged alcoholic. He could have had another 20 years left but his choices.
@dublin7guy But hes lived more than any of us! He's a legend & it's his style, I'd give an arm to drink with him. Sure it's a pity how he his now but it's his choice, more power to you Shane!
i wish i could drink one with the irish rover! And for the people that say you should'nt drink with him...those are the people he likes, not the goody 2 shoes,if ya did'nt have a drink with shane you would'nt know him,it is his choice,he has been gone along time and still outlived amy winehouse, kurt kobain, chris farley and many others...cheers shane!
great to watch the footage, but sad in a way that drink has taken over his life, he is a great musician and hate to see his talents wasted on booze. he does not look very well in this video either and to be honest with the amount he drinks im surprised he is still alive.
I tried Guinness once. It tastes like homebrew that was only put on in da morning for a scuff in da night. Ya got da ingredients right, but boys give the yeast some time to do there job. It isn't beer till the yeast drinks it first.
Clearly has suffered brain degeneration because of all the drinking.. He looks like a dementia patient.. What a shame, a brilliant mind, ruined by drugs and alcohol..
He is so alcoholic that he keeps on looking at the pint and almost can’t look away...the pint is the center of his world. I think between him and Gazza Gascoigne is a good match in terms of ultra-addiction. Would be interesting to put them at a table with limitless booze and see who ends up floored first.
I´m an alcoholic. I don´t have children or a family but I am pretty convinced that your father lives with a great portion of agony and anxiety over what he do to his loved ones. But it´s a disease, remember that. Don´t hate him. I know how it is to be an addict. The shame and guilt is allways there.
I love Shane, but this is hard to watch. It's like he's an old, demented man uncapable of much, and he's humored and sort of lead along by these people. Think of the art the man could have made if it hadn't been for the booze.
I don’t think they’re humoring him. They’re acceptive of who he is and making the most of their time. How else are they supposed to act when he comes in for a drink
Fantastic... Looks like lot's of fun... Nice to see him having a good time 😊👍🍻🍺🍹🥃
I worked here in my late teens, Philly is the epitome of ‘the craic’ ❤
Love this! Rest in peace, Shane!
Lovely interaction with the bar girl.

To have your pub visited by John Barleycorn himself, what an honour.
I have you your first like after 3 years, although I don't know who barleycorn is and can't be bothered to type it in

So mich for all the publicity of Shane's drunkeness, he only drank a pint here. Poor guy. I just drank a 6 pack of miller high life, publicize me.
would have given him bout anything to write a song
