mr meeseeks So give it to her minus a small amount like 20K. Say priority transfer costs for the amount. Not worth the hassle or arguments with the rest of the family and her keeping you in court. After which you flat out ignore her and whatever she asks tell her there is no more money. Do not accept a single gift for it is her money. She wanted it she must keep it. If she so much as invites family over and you kind of have to go give her precious money for the food. If she wants a visit in the nursing home, charge her for the privilege.
And she put his name on it, too lol. What _was_ that supposed to mean by putting his name on it? So you want to use him for good luck but not split the spoils with him? Makes total sense.
I think if you believe in the concept of luck, and you write someone's name on a ticket FOR LUCK. And you won using THAT LUCK, you are dooming yourself to terrible, terrible luck if you then say that person isn't entitled to a share of the money. I'm sure her response is mostly because she has spent her entire life poor and is now fiercely defensive of her prize, but you'd think she'd be humbled by her age and want to share the fortune with the person she claims was her good luck charm. She will likely spend most of her prize trying to claim it all for herself, and may even financially ruin herself in the process of trying to fuck over her friend.
If you try n feed a starving person they will overeat til they die. So what you gotta do is pace it out. She probably doesn't even comprehend that much money. She is like a squirrel to a 5lb bag of nuts and getting territorial tho its never gonna eat it all before they go bad, and when putting away the nuts others are going to find the bag too and take some. She would be that squirrel trying to drag the whole 5lb bag of nuts into her tiny hole in the ground.
It's your nephew, he's literally IN YOUR FAMILY. In most families the elders are the greatest respected and listened too. If I won that with my Aunt I'd probably use 5k to spend on stuff right then but leave the rest of the $$$$ to her and my parents because I love them. Maybe she just doesn't love her family.

Why wouldn't you take the 29 million. like what's the other option, work there for 29 years. What's stopping them from letting you go before the year ends
I go to school with the Tyrone (great guy), and once the interview went out she turned the province of Nova Scotia(especially Cape Breton) against her. She completely fucked her own life
A lot of native nova scotians are black. Im from canada and im not a history gal but i know nova scotia has a larger black population than the rest of canada when size of the province is considered, and its been that way for a long time.
She is like the story of the dog with his bone, who sees his reflection in a pool of water. He thinks he is seeing another dog with a bone, so he lunges down to take it and drops the real bone into the water. Instead of being glad to have $600,000 (probably more than she made in her lifetime) She has to grab for the second bone, as if it wasn't enough. Maybe she wanted that millionaire status?
sometimes when the jackpots get crazy here i get a ticket for two bucks (it's a lottery between the whole EU) then for a week or two i get this enjoyable hopeful levity to life. a pep in my step, so you will. I think the psychological aspect of thinking 'maybe just maybe i might be insanely rich' gives me enough hope to justify the two bucks.
This video is a compilation of low grunts, high pitch squeaks, ambiguous middle eastern whispers and loud chuckling; Like the range of tone represented by this group clashes so hard...so so hard.
I wouldn't quit either first of all 60 million dollars is not infinity dollars, second even though I'm a Janitor I love my job and the people I work with. Plus, I would get bored just sitting around counting money all day. I would probably not leave my area either!
Joe Baumgart Lol Ok if a person cant make 60mil last for the rest of their life they have serious spending issues. And there is a shit ton of other amazing things in life to occupy your time than clean shit.
Super JLK too bad they wont do that. Probably they will spend the money for all their needs. 60 mil its a lot but i bet they will be able to spend it very quick.
I mean.... the average family in the US isn't going to spend more than 2 (possibly a lot less) million in their lifetime. The only way you'd burn through 60 is if you bought a new sports car every few months, purchased a few mansions without the intention to sell them, and brought in a high class hooker every night for the rest of your life.
Super JLK what? Highly doubt a kid that wins the lottery gonna keep studying, they'll probably invest it and create pasive income for life, if the kid is smart.
@Zaven Agree, even if you spent 1% out of a 6% increase every year (half the historical average). You'd have f2-5 million a year to spend on whatever you want, and you would actually go up in net worth by 25 million a year. The first thing I'd do if I won 500 million is hire a really high caliber financial advisor. I don't even know where to put that money, I don't think I could just deposit a cool 500 million into chase lol. I'd gladly pay several hundred thousand to know that I am safe and my fortune is safe. The next thing I'd do is hire someone like Tony Robbins ($1,000,000 for one on one sessions) to coach me on finances and business. I'd then spend the rest of my life perusing health, happiness, and changing the world. Maybe I'd even hire someone really good to manage a big chunk in the market, I could potentially make a hundred million a year just on investments. That sort of money free from red tape can surely change the world if put into high grade research and development.
Gotta take the lump because even though you pay a bunch in taxes, the interest that you gain on the remainder is so much higher than the interest and savings on taxes from yearly payments. Also, they may not be able to pay you 10 or 15 years down the line if you get yearly payments so if you want to make sure you see all that money then take the lump. As long as people are smart with their money and dont buy ridiculous shit like 10 ferraris then the money will last. Get a financial advisor and put your money in different types of stocks so you have a variety so if one of your investments goes bad then your other ones are still gaining value.
*1Tim.6:* 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
I get why people wouldn't just quit working, being given 60 million dollars in not as rewarding as earning only 2 million through hard work. People need to strive for acheivement, reaching higher goals, so I guess for old people it makes sense, but for a person younger than 50 might be better for them to keep working.
Working for someone for decades to get 2 million does not sound so good to me. Rather would work smart for my money not hard doing pointless work for other people. I am not saying I would not want to work hard at all but I am saying if I am going to work hard I would rather work hard for myself than someone else. You know?
It’s all about the idea of expected value. When your expected value is higher than the cost of the ticket. Tho the idea of variance is also involved, variance is very very high, meaning almost all the time u lose, but when u win, u win huge. As opposed to betting even money on a coin flip. Basically, when the lottery gets big enough, and the EV is positive, it’s like a casino game in the houses favor from the houses perspective, they will make that bet as many times as they can cause long term it’s a money maker over enough trials.
The modern lotto started in Japan, but the very first known government-sponsored, large-scale lottery was in England in, I want to say the 1500's to raise money for a war. The prize was a set of solid silver and gold dinner ware, some gold coins and gems. It was actually pretty nice, but the cost of each ticket would be something like the equivalent today of $1500. And because people didn't have any true identifiable name or attribute, the way that they confirmed the winner is that the each ticket purchaser had to write a poem on their ticket. If their ticket was selected, they would read the first part of the poem and you had to recite the rest of it to collect. In the end, the high cost of the tickets limited the number of purchasers to the point that they didn't make enough money to cover the cost of the prizes, so the crown ended up cutting the prize by about 75%, keeping the dinnerware. Even then it barely raised any money and was considered a failure that wouldn't be attempted again for hundreds of years.
She did end up suing him. They settled and he kept 350k. She got 850k total. They havent spoken since the day they won. She paid her mortgage, bought a new car, and is planning a vacation to go to NYC to "see Tyler perry" and then a cruise. She even admits they went in on a ticket, but says she thought theyd split the tiny prize. She's not too bright. She gave up her close relationship with her nephew for a few grand. When it looks like she lives very small. They spent $5 on the ticket with no thought of actually winning other than the small consolation prize and she cant look at it as "I only spent this tiny amount so why not enjoy the amount they're handing me with my fav nephew." That doesnt seem worth it one bit. Poor guy.
*_The lottery pays for the community transit buses. They are the buses that take senior citizens to grocery stores and doctors appointments and so forth. It also helps cover the cost for senior citizens to get discount public transportation tickets. It actually does a whole hell of a lot for the blue hairs in your community._*
If I ever win big sums of money. I'm gonna give 20% of the win to my mom & dad, 20% to my 3 brothers, 40% into a house, 10% in stocks and the remaining 10% will be added into my existing savings
Great idea! Spend half your money on lawyers and probably lose the case, while simultaneously destroying your family relationship. Win Win!

Families are destroyed over less
My grandma lived with my mother n I for my entire childhood, when I was in my late teens her dementia became too much for us to care for her ourselves
When she moved into the nursing home, my aunt started seeing gramma more
we found out my aunt had taken gramma to a lawyer to change her will to exclude my mom from it
At the time of the rewritten will grandma was in no condition to be consenting to it
We found out about the will when my grandma found it but had no memory of agreeing to anything about it!
Couldn't change it back, since it would be unethical
So during the last days of my grandma still being coherent, she was angry with the betrayal of my aunt, but days and weeks later she couldn't remember any of it

Instead of being glad to have $600,000 (probably more than she made in her lifetime) She has to grab for the second bone, as if it wasn't enough. Maybe she wanted that millionaire status?
Early in our country's history, lotteries were used to fund governmental projects. Back in the 1700s. Taxes increased as lotteries grew out of favour.

Here comes the moneyyyyy
sometimes when the jackpots get crazy here i get a ticket for two bucks (it's a lottery between the whole EU)
then for a week or two i get this enjoyable hopeful levity to life.
a pep in my step, so you will. I think the psychological aspect of thinking 'maybe just maybe i might be insanely rich' gives me enough hope to justify the two bucks.
A lottery for the whole EU? What is the jackpot like when it's considered high?
@@DJogdog its usually 100 million might only happen 3 times a year
Man I would be perfectly happy with 600k.
That girl is cute as hell @_@
What a delightful old lady; such a generous soul.
This video is a compilation of low grunts, high pitch squeaks, ambiguous middle eastern whispers and loud chuckling; Like the range of tone represented by this group clashes so hard...so so hard.

“Spend half of it on attorneys”😂
Joe Baumgart 60 million dollars is a shitload
I mean.... the average family in the US isn't going to spend more than 2 (possibly a lot less) million in their lifetime.
That girl needs to become a voice actor for cartoons
That’s like a scene right out of the office
I hope she spends most of it on attourney's then loses.
I remember when the Powerball got to 1 billion. I was working at a truck stop at the time and so many people came in and bought tickets.
He looks so happy holding his check, smiling from ear to ear... She wasn't even smiling!
take the lump
you might not live to see it all.
I say lump too. I think I could handle it okay with a little bit of advice of course, but yeah you might not live to see it all eventually.
Take the lump then burn all of it
D G like the way u think

You know?
Putting grandma in a home.

c r e e c h u r r yup
At most she’ll lose less than 500k
It’s all about the idea of expected value. When your expected value is higher than the cost of the ticket. Tho the idea of variance is also involved, variance is very very high, meaning almost all the time u lose, but when u win, u win huge. As opposed to betting even money on a coin flip. Basically, when the lottery gets big enough, and the EV is positive, it’s like a casino game in the houses favor from the houses perspective, they will make that bet as many times as they can cause long term it’s a money maker over enough trials.
Dunkey looks like he lost weight

There she is. Hila!
For good luck then wins and dont wanna split it
She did end up suing him. Poor guy.
My teacher always say take the lump some, and NEVER go to work the day after you win.
Why?
luna youll definitely get resented. I should also mention that you shouldn’t tell anybody you won, because you could get killed.

*_The lottery pays for the community transit buses. They are the buses that take senior citizens to grocery stores and doctors appointments and so forth. It also helps cover the cost for senior citizens to get discount public transportation tickets. It actually does a whole hell of a lot for the blue hairs in your community._*
