Baby Lock Imagine Serger Complete Service

This Baby Lock Imagine Serger came into my shop needing a service and was mis-threaded. It is in very good condition and works great. The Imagine Serger was one of the first automatic threading style sergers. it is both unique and simple to thread and use. The tension disc system is also next generation, they open when the presser foot is lifted and automatically adjust to create the perfect stitch.

I am so glad you did this video. I have been wanting to service my Babylock Imagine myself but was too afraid to. Now I will watch your video as I do it. At 11:09 when you took off that metal piece I saw a spring come off at the end of that small shaft piece. I think that was that spring you found thinking it went to another machine.

Wow, this is awesome. I can't believe my local dealer does all this for a tuneup, do you think? Where are you located? I don't think I would dare take my machine apart to this extent--it must be starved for oil. Hasn't been tuned up for 8 years.

I don't know if your local dealer does this or not but they should.
I know one of the local Janome dealers here does not, I have seen his work many times.

Thank you for showing such a complete and detailed video of this serger, this helps with any serger service. I do have a question about this seger and tension, it seems the tension is all preset with no ability to adjust individual threads, I did see the perfect stitch with your four layers of canvas, but would the stitch still be perfect with two layers of thin fabric?
