Im 24 years old, ive never been on a boat or been interested in boats in my life. I pretty much play video games all day, yet i binge watch your videos, something about them. Keep up the good work.
Hello David. I’m the chap that met you the other day on the pontoon when you smelled smoke and thought your boat was on fire. My boat is the one on the end painted undercoat grey. If you’re at a loose end you could always paint it blue for me. 😁
Oh so good to be back on the canal. Thank you for this. We (in Michigan USA) are still in lock down for 10 more days. It’s raining here and cool. This was such a delightful surprise.
I LOVE this channel, in this time of lock downs and political turmoil, a few moments of pure peace and beauty is like a balm to frazzled nerves! These trips are like mini vacations, a time to just sit, sip a coffee and enjoy the canal with our old friend. Many thanks for taking us along.
Another wonderful vlog to make us 'yanks' jealous. I do hope to someday travel to the UK, hire a boat for the weekend, and make a complete fool of myself as I irritate a bunch of ducks.
With a cup of tea, toast and reclining on my sofa, thanks for making the perfect Sunday morning virtual cruise! Glad you managed to get out an about and the film of the countryside gently rolling by is the perfect tonic for lockdown. Stay safe and keep the dots on your roof to keep the critics occupied.
In my neck of the woods and you passed my blue and cream boat, Wee May in Whittington village. I'm a new vlogger, 'Narrowboat Natterings'. Your videos are a different style to mine but wow, your professionalism and production skills are a great benchmark to aim for!
I've got to say that I'm really enjoying your videos. Being from the US I find y'alls accent very calming (not sure why..lol), plus, your narration reminds me of nature shows of the past, which have always been a favorite of mine. The slow pace of "canal life" when combined with your smart and witty narration is a huge stress reliever especially during these trying corona times. Thanks for the amazing views of the amazingly beautiful English country side. Coming at you from North Carolina BTW.
I wanted to thank you for taking along on your adventure. We save a few episodes until just before we go to bed - an antidote to most of the rest of what we are hearing.
So glad you got out on the cut! Thanks for explaining why marina entrances are so narrow, I was always curious as to why that was :) Cheers from Nova Scotia 🇨🇦
Loved how you engaged 'warp drive' to accelerate your craft from 0 to 4mph in the blink of an eye LOL. Back in my youth I used to try catching ducklings whilst out in my kayak which can be quite a challenge! Now I'm old and grey I'd love to tour Britain @ 4pmh. Safe travels my friend.
I am getting so much calmness and peace out of your videos. And it is not boat or canal related. It is the tsunami of your kind Britishness which touches me. As long as there are people like you on the planet, there is hope for our species. All the best from the central European mountains!
When I was stationed at RAF Woodbridge (USAF), I loved escaping to the countryside via weekend train trips from Ipswich. I didn’t realize how much I was missing until I stumbled upon your channel recently. You’ve a lens on a beautiful and peaceful world hidden away, which I can now escape to via your priceless vlogs, imagining a life on a custom narrowboat in the UK when I retire.
How refreshing to enjoy a video not loaded up with medical and political views. Scenic views are much more pleasant and very appreciated. Glad to see you out and about again.
Last year I lost my hearing in one ear and spent a few weeks trying to move around but mostly laying on a sofa because I was so dizzy all the time. I listened to and watched your videos during this time and you display such a peaceful way of life. It really help me relax during this time and to have some happiness despite being very sad about losing my hearing in one ear. Thank you for what you do. 🇨🇦
The crop you mentioned was maize. The spacings between plant and row gives it away. Nice to see you out and about again. Only been watching you for a month now, still looking back at your other vlogs
"Oh to be in England, now that April's here." When I read that poem, this is exactly the sort of day I envision. I loved the "duck action" and the really gorgeous flowering bush at 7:05. Thanks for sharing the trip.
The pink bush is as you say a Rhododendron shrub. They grow wild in the State of Washington but have been perfected by nurseries. Your weather is very similar to ours so I'm sure they grow well there. The shrub does not do well in warm climates. By the way, they come in almost every color of the rainbow. I have about 30 in my yard of which a red one is over 30 feet tall. Magnificent!
My word I can't get over how green and beautiful it is in your neck of the woods, it is still snowing !in parts of New England and upper mid west!! Cheers
I always must start with a "Thank You". I Swear it's as if I'm Riding on Top of your Boat with You and You're Explaining Everything as we Go Bye. It is Also Amazing how Each Trip seems to Bring About something New that I haven't seen before. And Always Very Genuine & Lovely. I'm Not sure What I Like Best.... Your Humor or the British Countryside... Both I Expect. Never Realized before today just how much of a True Artist You Really Are! God Bless You Sir.. From Texas, USA
I've made a decision! I am now a Patreon - it's about time I helped with whatever you use the money for. After all, you do take me cruising for 5 months of the year. And the rest of the time, you keep me entertained on a regular basis. Thanks so very much David.
I like watching your videos. They're quite peaceful. Your humor, and the Scenery 👌 . I agree we all need to take better care of the Earth , it's so beautiful ❤️ Glad you could get out again 😊
What a *spectacular* day you have for coming out to see your own shadow! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this beautiful and green interlude for those of us not there. I always love the sound of the engine and the bird's singing, too. Both are so peaceful for me.
I see your videos as a form of relaxation, there is something wonderful in the slowness of life in that area of England. Greetings from the Canary Islands. ;)
Nice to see you out and about giving us a new vlog to enjoy. I hope to see more short narrowboat trips presented by you very soon. Just for the record, Cruising The Cut was the first narrowboat series I had ever seen. Thanks to you I now have several narrowboat vlogs to watch, giving me lots of time experiencing the beauty of the England canals and the surrounding country side.
Although I’m really only at vlog number 138 as I started late in your travels, I just needed to see how you have been surviving the lockdown and now taken your first day trip down the cut. Well done...!!!
Don't try to fool us, we're onto you! You were not touching up rust spots, the ducklings used your roof for target practice which is why you had to get even by driving through them. ;)
Man I can’t tell you how much I look forward to these vlogs! I get to see something I’ve wanted to do my whole life but alas I live in California and we don’t have picturesque scenery in my part( I’m in the Central Valley )quite like you do there. It’s my dream to one day travel there and rent a boat for a month or something and just wander round the country! Thanks for sharing w us! Is the crop spring barley?
Thanks David for the brand new vlog. Was very happy to see the beautiful countryside and all the activity on the towpath. Again, thanks for the Narrowboat Vlog.
Nice of you to take us "out and about" again David - thank you! Commercial boat traffic on rivers in OZ is still in lockdown and state borders closed. Grrr. Captain Alan
That was nineteen minutes of my lock down occupied by beautiful countryside, startled birds and excellent narrative. Thank you so much, David. Looking forward to future videos, perhaps involving other boaters and how they passed their time. Stay safe.
I'm a commercial yacht skipper (out of work though, thanks Corona!) and I'm very pleased to hear your opinions on bow thrusters! I've parked 53ft yachts in small spots without the use of one. All you need is throttle, rudder, and some wind awareness! Looks like you did a great job in that winding hole :D And the parking in the marina wasn't bad either ;)
During quarantine my family has taken to running the cars motors to keep them from developing problems from sitting too long. It has kept them in good shape. I advise running your engine (hard)about once a week(or more) to keep the engine healthy. But it’s still great to hear you are doing ok and can still make videos.
delighted you could get on with your life after this...interruption..in the world. After all this is the reason you have a narrow boat. Great reflections on the canal. beautiful skies. Thank you for sharing you passion!!
The UK is every bit as beautiful as you see. My wife and I are from the US and took our first trip in September 2019. We made a point to spend some time in the in the country away from the cities. I'll never regret it. The quality of your videos, editing and commentary are the best at showing the beauty of your country, canals and boating. We appreciate all your time and effort put into sharing your adventures with us!
So here we go (sail) again in this kind of dreaming into a world which seems long time forgotten but so beautiful and peaceful, and our favorite storyteller (or is it fairytale-teller) at the helm and in the machine-room. 🤔😉🇩🇰👍🇫🇷
Wrongish climate, thank goodness. Sometimes see clouds of midges of an evening but not really a nuisance. In fact rarely see flies of any sort apart from when passing cow pastures. Plenty of damsel flies and dragonflies of course.
Enjoyed your video and you inspired me to brew a cup of tea. Now my wife talks about buying a narrowboat but she hasn't watched enough of your vlogs to realize its not all so glamorous. All the best from Boynton Beach Florida.
Pog mo thoin
Means (sorry about this)😳 KISS MY ARSE 🤨
Dead Irish that 😀
I secretly hoped it would mean "Cruising the Cut" in Vietnamese. 😀
-4Carl, always assumed this is from someone that keeps mules?
In what language? Welsh?
Priceless!
Im 24 years old, ive never been on a boat or been interested in boats in my life. I pretty much play video games all day, yet i binge watch your videos, something about them. Keep up the good work.
I’m glad you don’t play music. It’s lovely to hear the birds and the boat engine ticking away. Great video.
Hello David. I’m the chap that met you the other day on the pontoon when you smelled smoke and thought your boat was on fire. My boat is the one on the end painted undercoat grey. If you’re at a loose end you could always paint it blue for me. 😁
It's hard to believe the authorities thought that folks out cruising in the great outdoors were some sort of health threat.
Oh so good to be back on the canal. Thank you for this. We (in Michigan USA) are still in lock down for 10 more days. It’s raining here and cool. This was such a delightful surprise.
Thank God!!!! You have no idea how much this helps me from losing my sanity
I was so happy when I saw the notification for this video. Hope your staying safe while out on the waters
Hi from Japan. "10:06"... au contraire, David-san. It's channels like yours that make this world all the better.
Glad to see you back on the water! Cheers!
Me, too TrikeRoadPoet. I feel the anxiety slipping away the second I hear David's voice now. It's a conditioned response.
Nice to see you back to cruising the cut instead of mooring the cut David✌
"Famous last words" LOL 😄
LOVE It! Enjoyed the Cruise, the Wildlife is spectacular! 🙂😍
Another wonderful vlog to make us 'yanks' jealous. I do hope to someday travel to the UK, hire a boat for the weekend, and make a complete fool of myself as I irritate a bunch of ducks.
Thanks for explaining why marina entrances are so narrow, I've often wondered.
Just a simple thank you for taking the time to do what you do
Good to see you out again
Really enjoyed the "duck action"! Glad to see you back on the cut, kind sir.
Ahh a new CTC vlog! Time for a cheese sandwich and a cup of tea.
That was absolutely delightful. It was wonderful to see the ducks and the tiny little moorhens and to hear the birds. Lovely stuff. Thank you so much
With a cup of tea, toast and reclining on my sofa, thanks for making the perfect Sunday morning virtual cruise! What a beautiful first outing. Those geese early on have a clear-o-god-they're-back expression.
Came for the sailing, stayed for the hot duck action!
I wanted to thank you for taking along on your adventure. We save a few episodes until just before we go to bed - an antidote to most of the rest of what we are hearing.
I didn't realize how much I missed the cruising videos, what a pleasant surprise!
That Warp speed made the Captain of The Enterprise jealous. Nice Cruise Vlog.
So glad you got out on the cut! Thanks for explaining why marina entrances are so narrow, I was always curious as to why that was :)
Cheers from Nova Scotia 🇨🇦
So glad to see you out and about. There is light at the end of this pandemic tunnel. Love your videos! Cheers from Portland, Oregon 🇺🇸

This cruise was very calming for me. Well done.☮

All the best from the central European mountains!
Loving the reflections of blue sky and puffy clouds on the smooth waters. :)

Crikey, that sounds unpleasant ☹️ I'm glad the videos helped
Such a comfort to see life starting to get back somewhat to normal.
The crop you mentioned was maize. The spacings between plant and row gives it away. Nice to see you out and about again. Only been watching you for a month now, still looking back at your other vlogs
I want to thank you for all the videos. You are so relaxing to listen to. And seriously are making me want to own a long boat
After a bad long week good to see a good video from you.
"Oh to be in England, now that April's here." When I read that poem, this is exactly the sort of day I envision. I loved the "duck action" and the really gorgeous flowering bush at 7:05. Thanks for sharing the trip.

just what we needed, lovely vlog thank you
Thanks for the springtime treat. Here in the US we are still under lockdown. This gave me the narrowboat "fix" which made it easier to bear.
I always must start with a "Thank You".
I Swear it's as if I'm Riding on Top of your Boat with You and You're Explaining Everything as we Go Bye.
It is Also Amazing how Each Trip seems to Bring About something New that I haven't seen before.

God Bless You Sir..

Your narrow boat always gives me peaceful viewing and feeling.Thank you!
5hrs cruising and no locks! Lovely
Thanks, l loved seeing the moorhen chicks, haven't seen any for a while and the ducklings, thanks for the reassurance, appreciated that. 👍🏻😊
I've made a decision! I am now a Patreon - it's about time I helped with whatever you use the money for. After all, you do take me cruising for 5 months of the year. And the rest of the time, you keep me entertained on a regular basis. Thanks so very much David.
Thank you Michael, much appreciated. I will drop you a note on Patreon when I’m next on the laptop, as I do all new Patrons. Cheers!
I like watching your videos. They're quite peaceful. Your humor, and the Scenery 👌 . I agree we all need to take better care of the Earth , it's so beautiful ❤️ Glad you could get out again 😊
Glad to see you haven't lost your touch David, brilliant as usual.
What a *spectacular* day you have for coming out to see your own shadow! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this beautiful and green interlude for those of us not there. I always love the sound of the engine and the bird's singing, too. Both are so peaceful for me.
Great to see you've finally got the world moving past your narrow boat again :-)
Nothing like grabbing a cold beer and putting one of your high quality videos up on the big screen TV to enjoy. Thanks again!
I see your videos as a form of relaxation, there is something wonderful in the slowness of life in that area of England. Greetings from the Canary Islands. ;)
I enjoyed that.I was with you every inch of the way. Thanks for being so careful and thoughtful about the wildlife.
Nice to see you out and about giving us a new vlog to enjoy. I hope to see more short narrowboat trips presented by you very soon. Daytripper yeah!
From the US. Thanks for the relaxing distraction, polite atmosphere and introduction to a subculture I never knew I wanted to be a part of.
Don't try to fool us, we're onto you! You were not touching up rust spots, the ducklings used your roof for target practice which is why you had to get even by driving through them. ;)
Wretched ducks certainly did crap on the roof a fair bit
Been in hospital for a while really nice to watch cheered me up👍👍
England is so lush, verdant green and beautiful.
How I miss you'r videos. Every time I watch one, I feel myself closer to buying one.
Man I can’t tell you how much I look forward to these vlogs! So happy to see Cruising the Cut actually "cruising" the cut...it does us both some good.
That was nineteen minutes of my lock down occupied by beautiful countryside, startled birds and excellent narrative. Thank you so much, David. Looking forward to future videos, perhaps involving other boaters and how they passed their time. Stay safe.
Thanks David, thoroughly enjoyed that meander down the canal with you 👍
I'm a commercial yacht skipper (out of work though, thanks Corona!) and I'm very pleased to hear your opinions on bow thrusters! I've parked 53ft yachts in small spots without the use of one. Hahaha thank you, that's very generous of you ;-)
Wonderful hearing your narration again David, Thank you very much.
Well done! I was really missing your videos. (And your witty narration)

Britain at its best👍 thank you🇬🇧

-4Carl, Nice clouds, looks like the American Midwest, no clouds where I live, no blue sky either. Enjoy!
Just a pleasurer to watch, never a bad time for a cuppa & a cheese sandwich.
loved the journey, great to see you back cruising. So peaceful. Stay safe, H
The UK is every bit as beautiful as you see. My wife and I are from the US and took our first trip in September 2019. We made a point to spend some time in the in the country away from the cities. Just as you said 5 hours was more than you normally do I was thinking you would have to fit a cheese sandwich somewhere into that 5 hour cruise!
So here we go (sail) again in this kind of dreaming into a world which seems long time forgotten but so beautiful and peaceful, and our favorite storyteller (or is it fairytale-teller) at the helm and in the machine-room. 🤔😉🇩🇰👍🇫🇷
Great camera work as usual . I’m rewatching your vids. Those greenery views are ace.
Awesome! Thank you!
Lifts your mood and soul to watch this and especially to hear the birds. Thanks.
"It is truly a wonderful world. Such a shame we're ruining it."
Does the hear good to see you out on the water again David. Thanks for the post.
You’d like Wisconsin,we have lots of cheese for sandwiches, but no canals , plenty of camping, nice to see you out and about , stay safe
I love watching your videos and falling asleep to them, thank you for this :)
I love your videos! Makes me wish we had this in the states. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like them!
With all the reeds & greenery with slow/still water
I continue to be amazed that the canals are not overrun with mosquitos
Wrongish climate, thank goodness.
Sometimes see clouds of midges of an evening but not really a nuisance.
In fact rarely see flies of any sort apart from when passing cow pastures.
Plenty of damsel flies and dragonflies of course.
Glad to see you're back out on the canals.
i wish for New England to have a canal system. :}
“Ramming other boats makes you unpopular in marinas.” Ha! Ha! 😅🤣
Thanks for the lovely vlog...from Maryland.
Great to see you having a cruise......great for your metal health.....stay safe......thanks for sharing
Enjoyed your video and you inspired me to brew a cup of tea. Now my wife talks about buying a narrowboat but she hasn't watched enough of your vlogs to realize its not all so glamorous. All the best from Boynton Beach Florida.
It's a good idea to unplug the shoreline at the post first so that if you drop the free end in the water it's not live.
David, you do indeed produce the best vids for us narrowboaters on You Tube. You are brill.
Glad you’re back.
always a treat to watch you.
Lovely as always with your wit.
