Was there a special tool that you had to use to get the two nuts that hold the carburetor off? The one nut towards the tailgate side has almost no room to get a wrench on it? Thank you!
No I think I just used regular tools if you need to make something fit go to pawn shop n buy that size tool to grind down don’t use yours !! Sometimes if there real tight use vise grips n pop loose then go back with regular wrench ! If you got a heat gun that also may help pop it loose ! Hair dryer in high ?!
@@WaldensWorld Thanks so much for the reply, we were able to finally get a small wrench on it but it was too long so we're going to get a smaller one or modify one tomorrow, thank you for the reply and the video - yours was the only one I found that looked like our carburetor and it gave me a better understanding of how it's built! Happy Holidays and New Year!
Question... our Mule 550 has been sitting for about a year. Pulled tank and cleaned thoroughly. It’s spotless. New fuel lines, new fuel pump, cleaned carb thoroughly without disassembling. Non ethanol fuel only for many years. New filter. Not getting fuel in to filter. I tired to siphon directly from the pickup tube on top of the tank. Also tried to blow in to that tube. Can’t get fuel out or air in so I’m guessing there’s a blockage in the pickup tube. Maybe from cleaning out the tank. Going to try compressed air tomorrow. Just wondering if you’ve ever run in to this. Really good video and good advice.
Should have a vac fuel pump . Hose goes to intake manifold . Pull gas line off carb . Pull vac line off suck n blow real fast see if fuel comes out . Or it has 12 gas pump ? Sometimes just a matter of getting started again . Starter fluid to air box may get pump primed again some times may take couple trys to get it going
Walden's World thanks. Got it running this morning. The pickup tube that goes down in to the tank was clogged up with crud from cleaning out the tank with apple cider vinegar and sloshing it around. Compressed air in to that tube blew it all out. Runs good but won’t idle so the carb probably needs disassembly and cleaning. All my fault for letting it sit with old fuel in it. I knew better.
Yep need new filter n clean jets I use smallest guitar strings n low speed drill . Won't wollow out brass n cleans good out small kink in gstrung it will rubber off crud !
No sir you're a guy that posted a video to help out other guys and girls trying to figure crap out. I do commercial audio/video so I look to experts for everything else. Now I just need to figure out how to disassemble the little carb on and clean it. If ya have a video for that, I'd watch it. Thanks again.
Mine will not idle down also bogging down when gassing it. Have rebuilt carb twice tried an ebay carb doing same thing makes me think it is something else. New plug i am a decent shade tree But this has me scratching my head any ideas i must be missing something. Thanks.
Air filter clean ? A dirty air filter causes more pressure n it has to suck from somewhere aka carb n fuel ! Air intake have small crack ? This would usually cause a back fire in muffler if you got it to take gas n let off quickly . Next would be to check valves n make sure one isn't a bit tight ! On alot of the carbs there is electronic fuel enrichment valve . They will slowly shut off after a minute this is when to set the carb ! Do you have slack in the throttle cable itself . You should have a little , it shouldn't be tight enough to use as throttle idle adjustment ! Gas peddle should move a smidge before pulling cable ! If you try them hit me back !

If it has no screw head you have to use punch make small dip then drill head off

I already cleaned tank also no rust in tank..
Muffler clogged ?
Fuel pump pumping also !
Cracked vent lines for fuel pump or near intake ECT
What causes gas to pour out of overflow line
Float in carb is not shutting gas off . Dirty needle or old hard rubber crap in the hole . But carb float needle is not shutting gas off
Check oil on some f carb is pointed to cylinder it can n will put gas in the motor slowly
