I personally enjoy the story of Yuki-Onna, a Japanese ghost who arrives with snowstorms. Her breath is cold as ice and can freeze anything. Some say she's the spirit of a woman who died in a blizzard in the mountains, while others say she's the Princess of the Moon who came down during a snowstorm to look around, but couldn't get back home afterwards.
Slag is a popular ghost down here in Birmingham, Alabama. He was an old angry night manager of Sloss furnace. He was so hated that he was thrown into a smelting furnace I think. He is said to go around knocking people over and yell at you. I think he supposedly pushed a worker into a furnace when sloss was still a working steel mill.
not 100% accurate A banshee is a terrible female spirit that screams and wails to signify the death of someone close to you. She is often a haggard old woman that washes laundry in a riverbank. If you hear her cries either you or someone you know will die oon Banshees also are said to have combs that they leave behind. Picking them up is bad luck thus it is bet to leave any random comb you see on the streets alone for it could belong to a banshee
Tanada Lynch: You seem to have conflated the Ban Sidhe with the Bean Nighe. Both are Sidhe (Celtic fairies) that warn of impending doom, but where the Bean Nighe washes bloody clothes she is represented as having webbed feet and dressed in green the Ban Sidhe is more humanlike and is commonly said to dress in white, black or in red, and is believed to be an ancestress or protectress of the family to which she appears (as many old Irish and Scottish families claim descent from the Sidhe) and her keening is said to denote her sorrow at having to see another one of her relatives die, while she (as an immortal Sidhe) will live on and never enter Heaven to join them!

Canyon Kirk bullshit obviously dont watch it then there is plenty of evidence that the paranormal exists and this show proves by far more than any other show on the paranormal. They have captured multiple apparitions, shadows, pictures and more.
Been reading about ghosts my whole life, since a little boy, and the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall, with her 1936 photo taken by Captain Provand and Indre Shira, is one of my earliest and favorites
My gran spent her youth in Ireland before her family moved to Glasgow. While in Ireland, at around 14 years of age her aunt was dying, the room was full of family and friends, they heard a long shrieking wail like nothing from this earth, everyone in the street heard it, a few minutes later her aunt passed away. She was never the type to make up stories, and only had a few paranormal experiences in her life. Another one was her older brother, he had been to the theatre where a fire started, there was a stampede bc everyone panicked. He was apparently one of the lucky ones, he returned home late and went straight to bed, my gran needed the loo so had to get up and walk down what she described as a cold dark damp alleyway, she seen her brother walking ahead of her and called on him to wait for her as she was scared, she knew something was wrong but but couldn't quite put her finger on it. He was walking slowly as if in a trance so she ran towards him and he dissipated just as he caught up to him. In actual fact he had died in the stampede and his body was returned to the family so they could hold a wake. She was terrified to realise she had been shouting to her brothers spirit, also very sad, she was only young, around 6 or 7 I think.
And their reference to the Banshee in Season 11, Episode 11, was my favorite! Fun fact : The woman who played Mildred Baker, (the screaming older lady), was Dee Wallace, who played the Mom in E.T. , The Extraterrestrial, in 1982
I actually dreamt of the banshee shortly after my mom died. She was very pale, had long black hair, a black gown, and screamed the most blood-curdling scream I've ever heard. I woke up petrified and shaking. I told my wife what it was about and she says to this day that she's never seen me so scared.
Personally, I like the legend of The Sobbing Ghost from Long Beach Island, New Jersey. She was supposedly the daughter of the leader of a crew of wreckers, land-bound pirates that use lights to lure ships to crash on rocks so they can loot the bodies that wash ashore. One day, when helping her father with his grisly work, she finds that her beloved was aboard the ship he had just wrecked. First her heart broke, then her mind and finally her body. And they say to this day she wanders the beaches of Long Beach Island at night sobbing over the loss of her true love.
3:55 Oh yeah duh that tale is international, the entire planet knows the Flying Dutchman. Do you wanna know why? I'll give you a hint. This comment has been sponsored by the Spongebob Squarepants TV show.
the maid at Stanley hotel was not electrocuted she was caught in an explosion the Stanley Hotel was one of the first hotels to have electricity at that time and during a storm the electricity went out so still being connected to gas the maid went up to one of the rooms to go light one of the lanterns and due to a gas leak when she lit the match the gas filled room ignited but yes she did still survive. another interesting thing about the Stanley Hotel is that when Jim Carrey was filming Dumb and Dumber he was staying at the Stanley Hotel which was the main hotel in the movie and he was staying in the star room which was mentioned in the video for a single night and then came down to the lobby the next day and told them that he would no longer like to stay in that hotel and would not give a reason why
I’ve been to Blickling Hall personally during a family day out. My at the time 1 year old little sister was eerily quiet inside the building and randomly burst into tears when we entered the room where the couple slept. It was only made worse by the fact all the other kids acted similarly.
You forgot the ghost of Wychwood Forest. The tale is somewhat similar but they say the ghost just holds her head and walks unlike the Anne Boleyn story and the carriage carries crying ghost children. I'm not sure if it's true or not though. There are so many versions.
La llorona is the legend of the mother who drowned her kids, y’all missing out if you’ve never heard of her great background story of a women, have to mention it was based on a true story.

I'm seriously surprised that watchmojo hasn't done a top 10 albums of 2016. 2016 was easily one of the greatest years for music in the past decade. Not only that, music is one of the most popular forms of media and should be covered.
hi watchmojo could you make a list of top sadistic family kind of movie? i'm talking about movies like house of the 1000 corpses or texas chainsaw massacre...what would be your suggestions? i've seen both movies i just want to see a couple more :P
joeladamson meh the original story is that whenever you see the ship on sea your ship will suffer the same fate as them, death. so yeah people were pretty much afraid of death. also becoming part of a ship doesn't seem very appealing to me....
I actually kinda like the story of La Llorona. I don't know the entire legend, but from what I've heard it's about a woman who drowned her two kids in a lake. Every year, on the day she drowned them, she returns to walk by the lake and cry. Two kids are taken away from the town close to the river and never seen again... At least that's what I've heard :D
In my town, there's a legend of a train that was in an accident sunken underneath a pond where a train station once stood. deep in the swamp area there is an old train tunnel, and people say you can hear the screams of people and banging around the tunnel. When we were kids, we'd dare each other to go down there and see. I did it once, NEVER AGAIN.
it is said that those who commit suicide are doomed to forever repeat the process of taking their own lives, that could explain why people keep on seeing the same ghost of peg entwistle walking towards the sign.
I also hope that isn't true. My best friend when I was 15 years old, committed suicide. That was many years ago, as I am 40 now. But I have always hoped for his sake, that he's at peace.
watch mojo did you know link only shouts and doesn't talk is because the voice actor fell from the stairs and he died and they only recorded him shouting so that's why link only shouts yourwelcome

Here's the thing though, my Grampa on his mothers side come from Irish heritage and when I was around 15 (I'm 23 now at the time of writing) I was cycling across the "old" Severn Bridge crossing from England to Wales with my younger sister and I hear my name screamed twice by what I believe was a Banshee (my sister was in front of me) and she was making her presence known to me as I I felt a warm and comforting feeling cross me.. Banshees are not all that bad, I believe they are protective of young souls too

kyle johnston exactly thank u!! They’re like a demonic MYTHICAL entity
A banshee is often described as a terrifying spectre or spirit
Spectre and spirits are both synonyms for ghosts
She is usually the spirit of a woman who either deeply loved or hated the family. They stick to their family and so yes she actually is a ghost.

Justin Wolf good for you, was it a good movie?
The mitick -gamer it confused me sometimes but yes it was a good movie

hi watchmojo could you make a list of top sadistic family kind of movie? i'm talking about movies like house of the 1000 corpses or texas chainsaw massacre...what would be your suggestions? i've seen both movies i just want to see a couple more :P
"This Welsh born, English beauty".... how exactly does that work? lol
English ancestry. But I would say she was Welsh as there is no evidence she identified as English. So I would just go with Welsh.
Wow , he saw Churchill in the raw , now that's a vision for sore eyes !!!
Honestly, who afraid of "Flying Dutchman" ?? I will just say "yes" if he ask me anything and be part of his super awesome crew!!
joeladamson everytime I hear the flying dutchman I think Spongebob
StarJackal same
You would be if you were jack sparrow!!!
joeladamson meh the original story is that whenever you see the ship on sea your ship will suffer the same fate as them, death. so yeah people were pretty much afraid of death. also becoming part of a ship doesn't seem very appealing to me....
listen to the album 'death came through a phantom ship' by Carach Angren. It's a modern take on this story and it's amazing.
The Shining Hotel is my fave! Ghost Hunters got some really good footage from there.
Why show Blairwitch Movie Footage for the Belle Witch
well they also showed scenes from crimson peaks and other movies related to said ghost.
Kole Dupe american haunting was about the bell witch they should had used that
The Blair Witch Project was loosely based on the Bell Witch.
Love all the crimson peak clips in this video
no one know about " EL nadaha" in Egypt she is real and there is allot of witnesses
MMF387 I've heard of that!!
nobody knows and most likely no body cares.
Anglo culture has the "Banshee" = El Nadaha ..
Fuck you and fuck Egypt
MMF387 fuck these haters. i for one have heard of her and lots of other egyptian ghosts and creatures. i like egyptian mythology and ghost stories...
Blair Witch Project was in 1999 not 1996. WM, smh.
At least that's what I've heard :D
can u guys do sally vs Amy
In my town, there's a legend of a train that was in an accident sunken underneath a pond where a train station once stood. deep in the swamp area there is an old train tunnel, and people say you can hear the screams of people and banging around the tunnel. When we were kids, we'd dare each other to go down there and see. I did it once, NEVER AGAIN.
I know, 90% of Ghost Adventures is fake but daaaaaaaaamn i love that show
where's proof of this?
Donald Duck Proof!?...
I was told the story of the Banshee when I was a child and have been terrified of her ever since
Who else thinks Ghost Adventures is one of the best shows ever made.
10:30- "blows his horns(don't ask how)".
NICE🤣🤣
it is said that those who commit suicide are doomed to forever repeat the process of taking their own lives, that could explain why people keep on seeing the same ghost of peg entwistle walking towards the sign.
Alan Choi Chang oh I hope not.One of my fav historical guys did that, plus Pete Dual,a friend's son,one of our Air Cadets too.May they all RIP.
I also hope that isn't true. My best friend when I was 15 years old, committed suicide. That was many years ago, as I am 40 now. But I have always hoped for his sake, that he's at peace.
okay I wasn't expecting to see the headless horseman on here, but I have to admit I did cheer when he came up.
Well played watchmojo, well played.
What about la llorona 😭
I love how I started getting into a horror frenzy after watching Crimson Peak and I come to a Mojo video with crimson peak clips in it o-o.
watch mojo did you know link only shouts and doesn't talk is because the voice actor fell from the stairs and he died and they only recorded him shouting so that's why link only shouts
yourwelcome
In my entire life I hadn't read something as weird as that...
Emilio Arrambide I'm glad Link is a silent hero. Have you ever seen the cartoon? I don't think I'd be able to play the games if Link was annoying as fuck as the cartoon link
There's no evidence of this claim from what I saw. He's a silent hero because they figured it'd be better than having him talk
Banshees are not all that bad, I believe they are protective of young souls too
Again... wth. Mary I burned the Protestants at the stake not “chopped into bits.” Burning was the required Catholic sentence for heresy... please guys ...
That Peg lady would be perfect to be played by Kirsten Dunst
The first person on the list is in GTA 5
Jiddlebog Games nope
Simialar but no
The dullahan, Mary, the ghost of goose car lane, you’ll have to research, bodmin jail, the Jamaica inn and bodmin moor, exmoor, Abby house in padstow and loafs more, the kelpies, the Hitchhiker, are all amazing
