Hey Jon just wanted to check in. I used EPSON Premium Lustre photo paper roll 300mm x 30.5M roll. Just printed my first tonight and I'm super happy with the finish of the paper and printing. It looks fantastic. I only took so long because the roll was expensive and so is the ink, so I hesitated to start in case I made a mistake.
The only issue I had was finding the ICC profile for it because Epson only give them for their own model printers on the website. I chose the profile for Canon Pro Lustre and I think it turned out fine, as far as I could tell anyway!
If you'd be interested to see the finish, I can take a photo and send to you. Cheers again for your videos. You deserve way more views.

Oh I am glad that you find it good. I wonder how it will compare with the Canon Lustre Pro. I have good result with it. It's just that my personal preference lean towards cotton base paper. But I think it has its place. Thanks for coming back and updating me. How do you feel about cotton base paper like the premium fine art paper by canon ;) You gave me an idea, I will have an episode to talk about papers ;)

@@jonlow I honestly don't know much about cotton based paper vs regular based paper! I'm still new to printing so I would definitely appreciate a video on it!

    Hi Jon,
I wanted to drop you a comment and say what great content you are making. I just picked up the Pixma Pro 200 after watching your feedback (my Pro100 broke on me). I keep expecting to see your channel have many more followers than you do now, and im sure it will get theres soon.
    thanks
    Wayne

Great videos. About to pull the trigger on the pro200. Is the ink cost on the pro200 reasonable? Thank you in advance!

A set of the ink nowadays cost up to RM1000, about usd 250. But it does last for quite a bit. I guess it’s reasonable

I've found it impossible to find rolls of paper online. I have a particular photo I want to do this exact thing with on my pro 200.
It's such a shame it's so hard to find good paper for this. If I can find something I will try to remember to come back and tell you.

I manage to get a roll on a local "amazon.com" here in Malaysia, before the seller got banned from the system. But I have been researching more on aliexpress. Perhaps this may work for you:

I ended up buying EPSON Premium Luster Photo Paper 300mm x 30.5m roll from an Australian company called Vital Peripheral Supplies.
I'm Australian so it suits me well, but maybe they can help you too?

First step, forget the money you already paid in any other canon printers and throw more money at a lame manufacturer to by a model without a driver lock to it's print size.
Sorry Jon, Love your content, but creators like you should be bringing some awerness about this issue and not showing something that we can't do without buying the most expensive shit for no good reason.
