Charly McClain performs "Take Me Back" and "That's What You Do To Me" on 'Pop! Goes the Country' in 1978. She is also interviewed, alongside T.G. Sheppard, by Ralph Emery.
I have been a fan of Charly McClain for any years I started listening to her in the late 70s she's such an awesome singer and has had so many hits always loved her and Wayne Massey together.
I've been a fan of her's every since I heard on the radio. As far as I know I think I have every album she's put other than her greatest hit's albums,I made my own on cassettes.I've loved her for years and was saddened when she quit putting out music,if I'm down out I listen to Charly.I thought I had all of them and went on Amazon and found 1 vinyl and CD albums she put out before she disappeared and critics didn't give them a very good rating but I enjoy them and what do critics know anyway!!!
Ralph Emery was a little bit up in her business too much in my opinion. That wasn’t any of his business to blurt out like that. I can see why she wanted to disappear. I hate that she hasn’t made an appearance in many, many years, but I guess she was ready for a regular marriage and kids I guess. But if anyone needs to know, she can certainly tell you how to fall off the face of the Earth lol. I miss her though. Beautiful, sweet and lovely lady with class, yet true humility!
Charly is of my favorite female voices to ever sing country music. I've heard it's best not to meet her though, just enjoy her amazing talent! She kind of did the Bobbie Gentry thing and became a recluse somewhere near Pickwick lake in West Tennessee. I think Elvis once said " The image is one thing and the human being is another...It's very hard to live up to an image."
Charly McClain is fantastic! My favorite artist!

I keep thinking that this is the only song she co-wrote, but I may be mistaken. I love this song.
