What memorizing theory does to a player
Elo 3000 for 10 moves, then elo 500 for the rest of the game. Still good enough to beat me.

Ywah the Marxhall is an opening I always wanted to learn. When Magnus proposes the idea in his tourament games, the other sper gm's always seem to want to avoid it. Would I be beacuse it is that scary, or is it because they lose their attacking advanced? There must be something in it where white can hold it's inate slight advantage.

2 1300+ played (one of them admitted he never played this opening before) played 18 moves of theory then proceed to alternate between blunders and missed wins. From move 19 to 30 the report is 50 shades of red.

Btw the dude plays daily chess. Does he knows the rule about "reference games" are different between rapid and daily ?
