    I just want to say thank you for taking the time to explain in detail piece by piece on how to do this. You didn't have to, but you did. I thank you for that. You are appreciated for your work.

    I think I struck gold here. These videos you're making are extremely helpful. SCS documentation isn't great plus the existing YT tutorials and SCS forum tutorials aren't very good - either outdated or poorly recorded. I've had some success modelling in blender, but integrating that with SCS files was pretty confusing. I'm finally at a point where I can start creating new truck mods. Really appreciate what you've made here, Mark. Only remark I'd have is that it's not very clear in which order one should watch your tutorials. Otherwise, keep it up.

      Most of my videos were made due to requests from other modders. There really is no specific order other than start with adding scs tools to blender and watch importing and exporting a truck. The other videos are more or less specific tasks.

    I followed your steps and i got it, but i can´t make the kenworth t680 2022 template, i dont know why, appear a totally crazy UV... Have some special instruction for this truck? Sorry if i said something wrong, cause my english is not perfect, im from Brazil. But your tutorial was perfect for the big part of the SCS trucks.

      This truck is not mapped like the other trucks. Either SCS or another modder will have to map the truck before you can make an appropriate template. Mapping is not an easy thing to do and very time consuming. If you find a different template online, you will need the matching truck model before it will work.

      You can create a template using UV2 layer but it will not be like the traditional templates.

    Hi! Could you please make a video on how to modify or create a new chassis for a truck in ATS or ETS2? For example a Scania G with a 10x4 chassis. Thanks a lot.

      I think I will create a series of videos that will explain the process of creating a new truck. I had started this a few months ago but felt there was not enough interest at the time. This was based on the number of views and downloads of the files I created for the videos. I may try again soon if interest picks up.

      @@markbrower3489 I am gonna turn 60 next week and its good to someone is showing us how to do this stuff. It seems so daunting at first so much stuff to download and get set up just to do it. But I have the desire to learn and if you make this vids, I am sure I could get my friends to watch. They are just as interested as in learning this. Thank you Mark for taking the time to shows us this process.

    Thank you so much for this! It was very helpful, Is there a way to view your skin on the truck in blender by chance?

    • @markbrower3489
      @markbrower3489  2 роки тому

      Yes, any part that has a truck paint shader can display your skin. In the materials option, select “airbrush” and you will get a new option to select your skin dds file. To display correctly you must have the right Mapped UV layer selected.

    I am trying to mod the Kenworth T680 but the template is not coming out correctly like you show it here. Can you help?

    • @markbrower3489
      @markbrower3489  3 роки тому

      If it is a custom truck most modelers do not map the parts because it takes too much time. Also, make sure you are looking at the mappings of all the UV layers.

    Hi mate awesome video, is it the same process from making a template for a non scs trailer? Thanks

    • @markbrower3489
      @markbrower3489  Рік тому +1

      Yes, same process, however, not all non scs mods are mapped correctly if at all. All that you want to skin needs to be mapped to a template.

    • @danielthompson5352
      @danielthompson5352 Рік тому

      Thanks for the quick reply mate, no worries thank you for that I will have a go and see how it turns out. Any idea if this process is the same for zmod as that’s generally what I use. Also with mudflaps how would I go about templating them so they’re editable via .dds

    • @markbrower3489
      @markbrower3489  Рік тому +1

      @@danielthompson5352 don’t know anything about z-mod. Never used it. The mud flap would need to point to a specific dds file in the materials tab in blender. It is usually the base in your texture settings. The correct UV layer needs to be selected also. Sounds more complicated than it is.

    • @markbrower3489
      @markbrower3489  Рік тому +1

      Every object in your model is mapped to a texture file, so you need only to edit the dds file the mudflap is pointed to. To make the mudflap editable on your skin template, the mudflap will need to be mapped to a empty spot on your skin template, then you need to change the file path to match the skin template.

    Gday mate. sorry if im a bit late to the vid, but a lot of my mods are in an scs file but they arent zipped. i cant seem to run them through the scs extractor, would you now anyway to fix this?. Thanks mate great video

    • @markbrower3489
      @markbrower3489  3 роки тому

      The extractor is only for the official SCS software files. You need a program like winzip or winrar for mod scs files.

    • @markbrower3489
      @markbrower3489  4 роки тому +1

      The style of truck does not matter. The template is created the same. With the cascadia the bumper, cab deflector, side skirt and sun shield goes on a separate template and skinned as accessories

    Hi Mark, first of all i wanna thank you about the great job that you have done about the videos and for the plenty information that you gave to us. Your videos are really helpful at this point i wanna ask you about something. I am playing ets2 and i did step by step all the process to add the scs tools in blender e.t.c. In this video when i went to the common file and from here to the ets2 file i realised at this point that inside in this file there is no name of a truck. Into this file i have bin, licences , base scs ,base cfg , core,def, balkan dlc, east dlc, balt dlc, dlc_fr, dlc_it, dlc_north, dlc rocket_league, effect, locale. Where could i find the trucks?

    • @markbrower3489
      @markbrower3489  4 роки тому

      A lot of people who mod trucks don’t map the body very well if they do it at all. This is not a priority for them. On non SCS trucks you will need to map the faces first before you can create a template.

      @@vampscarz6682 sorry, it’s a pretty tedious process and is why some modders don’t bother with it. I plan on creating a video on mapping but you can find other videos about mapping 3D objects in blender. The process is close.to what is required to map trucks.
