For those with a PS5 what worked for me was turning HDR off in the PS5 settings. Screen and video -> Video output -> color -> HDR -> off.

@@theddymorin9084 yes turning off hdr allowed me to change my monitor settings. I was able to saturate, adjust brightness, contrast, and more

2024 ps5 owners, one thing that worked is to manually change the resolution. So when plugged in mine defaulted back to like 720, after I manually changed it to 1440 I could turn on hdr without a pc. I also then found I had to enable hdr in the game settings for each game. So like Elden ring had hdr off even though it was enabled os the ps5. Turned it on and it was good. Hope this helps

U can use laptop.
It is not letting me change out of racing mode, change brightness or contrast. It isn’t letting me change a lot of the options on the monitor

When you turn certain settings on, you can't use others. For example, you can't use hdr and freesync at the same time. Or elmb and freesync at the same time. And when some of these are on, you can't use hdr, not can you adjust vividpixel, trace free etc. Racing mode is best anyway, less input lag according to rtings.

my joystick doesnt work for affiching the setting, Not sure if the button is broken or what. GamePlus button and the 4 bars button (directional one) work fine. I'm trying to adjust brightness which I believe is in the gamevisual part. When clicking the directional top button the brightness settings are not accessible. Is there a way to fix this or access these settings without the button?
Edit: This is odd but I finally managed too access the settings when I turned overclock to on... Is this intended?

If your laptop doesn’t support HDR then no it can’t use HDR since the display doesn’t support HDR it’s impossible

Do you have an hmdi 2.1 port on your monitor (VRR needs a 2.1 port on the ps5), if so .. make sure you use an ultraspeed cable (the standard ps5 cable is supporting this). L

Make sure you don’t have power saving mode on in the last tab. It’s what disabled everything for me

Sorry to be months late but it was in the setting you just had to reset it apparently and it would’ve enabled it for you

Please guys help me out, i bought this monitor. But when i turn “hdr off” on the ps5 i can’t turn it on at the monitor, it is not a selectable option.
If i turn “hdr on” on the ps5 hdr is selectable but only the cinema en gaming mode (no console) and every other option like brightness contrast and game visual is not selectable anymore.

So I’m playing on my ps5 and I just got a monitor asus 165hz and when I play fortnite it gives me 60fps on 3840x2160 I went to the overlock setting you showed and it was blurry for me and when u went to click it I couldn’t I saw in another reply you said enable hdr but even my hdr is blurry and I can’t click it

@@MrJeroen10 I found out from a different UA-camr that you should just buy the Edid emulator form Amazon the 4K one and I thing it’s like 20 bucks if you want to get 120hz on a asus monitor because somehow Sony ps5 doesn’t support 120hz on all monitors yet since there’s a lot of brands but you would think that Asus one of the worlds biggest monitor companies would support Sony ps5

No bc the ps5 requires hdmi 2.1 to get 120hz. This only has a 2.0 hdmi ports
@@mcfriedchicken1972 HDMI 2.0 can reach 1440p at 120Hz. I bought the monitor and can confirm it runs 120fps.
Thats called a handshake and its because some games are hdr in game but not menu and you must revert back. For example, i have hdr on cyberpunk. It supports it. The xbox dashboard isnt hdr. So the handshake happens for me. Its just switching between hdr and non hdr. @PhamtomG

Go into the monitor settings on different games and try. It’ll open options dependent on that. Like mw3 lots of options are locked. On Fortnite I have almost every option available.
